No Jeep product should cost more than $50,000. Just because you can increase prices, doesn’t mean that you should increase prices. Doing so is a great way to alienate the base customer that provides the revenue to keep your business operational. I was looking at a Gladiator Mojave the other day and it was $65,000. There’s no way I would pay more than 45 for that thing. It just isn’t worth it. Hell, 45s a stretch as well.

The majority of people can only afford a vehicle between 10k and 20k. If the banks would have done their due diligence no one would have gotten a loan for these ridiculous amounts in the first place, unless they either put tens of thousands down,or they were a millionaire.

You guys aren't getting it. The root cause of why Stellantis is favoring its high margin vehicles is because of EVs and particularly EVs in China. Stellantis is bleeding money as it lowers its prices below cost on EVs in China. In Europe, Stellantis also has to compete with imported Chinese EVs. They are losing money there too just not as much per EV. Stellantis, like any regular publically owned company, wants to make a profit to keep its stockholders happy and make the stock price go up... or at least not drop. Stellantis HAS to stay in the EV game or it will stop being able to sell any cars in China and eventually the EU. But at the same time they have to keep their head above water....TaDa! They therefore kill the manufacture of low margin vehicles and sell only the top margin ones. Meanwhile they layoff workers, etc etc. Is this going to save them? No, not unless they figure out how to make EVs that people want at a price they can afford, while offering similar features as their competitors.....OH YEAH... and make a profit on those EVs. Ain't going to happen and therefore Stellantis is a Dead Man Walking.

Coming from a former temp worker who helped assemble these trucks for 2 years. It’s not all glory for the ones that remain & continue to work. Just ask anybody who has worked there it’s almost impossible to keep up on the assembly when these trucks are assembled back to back. Those Ram trucks gave a break in the action; now they’re gone & big trucks will be assembled 100% of the time I don’t see the average worker not going out on medical after about a month unless you’re fortunate to be placed at an easy assemble station. Americans still don’t understand that from here on ICE pickups are going to be expensive. Supply chains around the world are shifting to EVs that are coming down in price big time. Supply chains, parts manufacturers and engineers know the future is EV, not V8’s. As V8’s are still being made, they will only get more and more expensive to build and sell year after year. Pretty soon, if you want a ICE vehicle you are going to start at $70k for even the most base level with nothing on it and a normal OTD price of $100k for a medium spec. Who is going to buy these? The same people who can buy any expensive car- the wealthy. By 2030 EVs will be for most people and ICE cars pretty much only for the rich commuters and exotics collectors.

That would give the plant four products, along with the Pacifica minivan and new Charger.
