Just installed this on my JKU, I can see again. I have the AEV tire carrier and the AEV gas can behind the spare tire so I had much more fabricating to do to mount the camera. Took me about 4 hours but it’s worth it. Thanks Marco. Oh white with gray stripe is still correct on the 2018 JKUs.

Marco, I RF shielded my wiring harness on my '18 JKU-s the one that runs on both sides in the interior of the jeep, becuase the stock electrical system is noisy, this is especially useful if you are running any type of radio or "coms" or if you have an aftermarket stereo system or run any type of LED lighting see any digital electronics produce radio frequency emmisions noise so by shielding wires that can act as an antenna you will have less static on the said system. but this goes to all jeepers hopes this helps ✌

Awesme bid Marco. Good to see you making longer vids. Only issue is most of us are running bags over the spare (i.e. Trasharoo etc.). I have a Brandmotion rear only camera that uses my OEM head unit in my JK, but had to relocate the camera off the spare wheel (higher up). Sacrifice of running a spare tire mounted bag.

Hey Marco, I’ve got the same issue with a bag over the spare. Have you had a chance to come up with a solution? Even with all its "big" windows, one of my complaints about my WK is the poor visibility. The pillars hide whole vehicles at the rear corners. And if I pile gear in the back everything disappears. I really need something like this. Thanks Marco! Love your cookbook too!

My rear view camera has dark spots from the heat delaminating the reflective material on the rear view mirror. This is definitely a great option.

@@OVRLNDX Thanks Marco for your response. I actually ran a 12 gauge wire directly from the battery through the firewall and used that to tap my 12v constant yellow wire from the mirror. I hope this would help some people reading the comments in case they have the same question like I did. Anyway, how do you like your stinger setup? Is this on your JKU or the 392? You and Brad are definitely an inspiration with my Jeep Rubicon build. The big difference is that I am working with a smaller budget so trying to stretch my dollars for the upgrades I want.

Awesome video as always. As I start working on the buildout for the rear of my JKU something like this will definitely be on my list. I have my rear camera feeding into my after-market stereo (which gives the option of turning on the camera at any time) but having something in the more "natural" location of the rear view mirror might be a bit better.

Here is my problem I have a Jeep wrangler which this system seems like it would be perfect for I also have a cargo trailer What I would like to do is use the camera daily for my jeep but be able to use it for my trailer (is it possible to have two rear cameras when I use the trailer disconnect the jeep rear camera and connect the trailer camera ) hope you get this need to buy camera soon

I recently changed this mirror to a Stinger Off Road, one of the many reasons is that Stinger has a way to do a trailer camera setup!

Hey Marco have had any issues with this setup? And if so did you get another set that works better? I installed this on my JKRU and worked great for about 6 months then rear camera started only intermittently working so makes unit useless and company refuses to honor warranty due to suspected bad harness. I was hoping the front view camera was mountable on the front grill or front bumper. The windshield view doesn't really appeal to me. How much does the rear camera help with backing up? Seems like the field of view is distant compared to other backup cameras? For example, how much of the view closest to the rear bumper is missing from the view?

I can’t find a good source of power (both battery and acc) I end up put both wire together to an old phone charger… only issue, it doesn’t store date… also the rear image is not flipped… when driving, I have to remember left side of screen is right side of the car….

@@CTHunterZZ sounds like some issues. Not sure what is up with flipped screen you may need to contact manufacturer about that. For battery power I tapped into wire coming off battery power cigarette plug in trunk area in the sub panel. For acc I tapped into power for cb that is getting power cigarette plug in dash using Quadratec Part #: 96080.9801. Hope this helps

I did not! I ran a wire from the dual battery busbar using an inline fuse holder, you will need constant current, yes

Now that you've had the Brandmotion Fullview mirror for a while how are you liking it? I bought a cheap Chinese one and found it had a lot of glare when in full sun, it just doesn't seem to have enough brightness to see the camera video because of glare.

It is pretty much the same size as te oem mirror, I think it should work with the sPod switches, it works like a regular mirror yes! No night vision

A follow up to my Brandmotion camera issue... I contacted a Brandmotion as requested and they offered me a discount on purchasing a different fixed mount camera model that they offer. I advised I purchased the one they offer for JKs with the adjustable arm for aftermarket tires as I have 37” tires (they still offer this camera too). I explained that I really didn’t want to spend more money as I already spent almost $600 on the one I have. I asked if there was anyway to just get the one I have working with a clear picture as it’s grainy. I sent my reply a week ago and have yet to hear back?

Huge fan of the cookbook! And big fan of the DIY drawers and the DIY lights that previewed on TrailRecon. But I gotta be honest, I expected more: I DIY camera or something on the Marco level.
