Yeah I like em great looking Jeep. I have a Willys edition Im really happy with it instead of lockers I have an lsd which is great for a daily driver that sees its share of snow from time to time. Also comes with rubicon skid plates, rock sliders wheels and mud terrains. No sway bar disconnect which doesnt bother me as I can just manually disconnect mine. Almost 68k trouble free miles. Im still running factory KMs with about 10/32s meat left. I have to say that BFGs are not NOT over rated tires they are excellent. Id buy them again no question but I want to try STT Pros in a 285 next. Oh yeah 3.73 gearing standard on Willys.

The Moab is a more civilized Rubicon. Sounds counterintuitive, but it makes sense. Given the creature comforts, this is a great family fun, weekend off-roader, that can do light to moderate trails, in comfort. Jeep's branding department knows what they're doing. You can't cannibalize the purist offroading Rubicon. Any more hardcore, and the price would have been exuberant. Should have lockers, I'll give you that. But for 30 years there has been a Sahara model, incapable of crossing the Sahara desert, and no one bitched about it. Cheers.

CJ should have mentioned the different 4WD system in the Moab and discussed how Selec-Trac differs from Rock-Trac. Basically, this is a better foul-weather, on-road Jeep and not a hard core off-roader. "MOAB" is certainly a misnomer on this thing.
@conduit2425 жыл бұрын
No Rock-Trac, no thanks! It should have at least been an option. I don't understand FCA sometimes.
@actontreadway11685 жыл бұрын
yeah. this is the confusion I've been having with this car. this video makes it sound like it's a rubicon with a different colorway and fewer off-road components. or, basically a sahara with some rubicon stuff on it. I would have thought moab would mean even more offroady than a rubicon, but then the rubicon trail is probably harder than moab... just confusing.

Rubicon is a couple thousand less and you get 44’s front and rear and 410’s. Also you get locking front and rear diffs on the Rubicon. No locking on the Moab. Yes this doesn't make sense. Most of the luxury features this offers you can get optional in a Rubicon. After watching the video it sounds like it is basically just custom rock rails, black tow hooks, and KM2 tires on a Sahara. Unless I am missing something it feels very unimpressive.

Been driving a 2020 Rubicon for the last week and the locking Diff and axles with sway bar disconnect is pretty required if you get into blue-more difficult trails on the new Hatfield McCoy Jeep Trail Bear-Wallow area near Chapmanville and Logan WV. For $50 a year you get over 100 miles of Jeep-wide trails in the HMT system.. we ran about 50 miles of green and blue levels. Sahara can do green but the lockers are pretty much required on sections of the blue, especially if its wet. A month ago I had a Sahara in the Borrego Springs California trails and its 4wd low with traction control was all I needed, sections needing more are probably not trails there you want to take a new Jeep on. The same with HMT - I’d not take a new Jeep on anything black or above due to potential for body and frame contact.

It's like paying top dollar for a 4-door Chevelle because someone put a Super-Sport decal on it. And if you went with the Moab for the Selec-Trac, that sucks since you can get that option in pretty much every trim level now, including the Sport-S.
