You never addressed how dirty the intake manifold was. I'm curious as I am currently deleting the egr and my horn was absolutely caked. So you mentioned it in part one, but never said how bad it was plugged up.

You posted this just in time. I bought a 2006 with broken rockers, I have it torn down to the shortblock and I'll be doing this next week. It's nice to see what's involved and where the "gotchas" are before I have to do it myself.

Regarding installing injectors, each injector has a serial number on it. On the timing belt cover are printed labels. The numbers on one of the labels are the same as the injector serial numbers. They are also in order from cylinder #1 to cylinder #4. No need to mark the injectors, unless they are not the original injectors.

Note: u can easily access the turbo oil return line from under the car just gotta have long arms👍

How did you clean up the intake and head surfaces to get them so clean?

Any reason why you didn't use copper spray a gasket on your head gasket? I recently did my valves, but I removed the turbo and exhaust manifold from my head. This is definitely fairly easy for one inexperienced user to complete, but your video would definitely aid in the procedure. Budget? What's that? I am not sure what your budget was for your job, but everything adds up fairly quick.

So these head gaskets are coated in viton gasket, and it should seal on its own. So not really 100% needed but it won't hurt anything to use it either.. Thank you for your comment!

I had a hard time finding idler pulleys. I found some inexpensive ones on amazon.

I just finished doing mine a few weeks ago. Were your head studs a little short? I had to back mine out a few turns to get them flush with the tops of the nuts. Was a little disappointed in that but it torqued down fine and I'm about 3k miles into the rebuild and has been great. Towing 4500lbs for the first 1000 or so miles. No issues yet.

Mine were the same way. It made me a little paranoid I wasn't leaving enough thread in the block, but there should be plenty. As long as they are mostly flush with the top of the nuts, you're good.

hello how are you? please please please please help me! I am in the process of overhauling my Jeep KJ 2.8 CRD 2003 engine. I lost sight of the fact that it was necessary to make marks before removing the distribution belt! I don't know how to find the point of the engine without a reference. I searched and asked everywhere and didn't get a positive answer. can you help me please! You're welcome. thanks in advance
