I have a drop hitch and it doesn't matter with a boat trailer. Have to take the spare off.

Would you prefer to lose cargo space or fuel capacity? People complain about the silliest things. 99% of the time the tire’s location is helpful.

Well that is right I don’t see why you need that for normal people but he does have a purpose trailer for that the other thing is that on the jeep Libertys if you have a tire in all the way inflated even if you do have the hitch all the way upside down go to give you more room it’s still ain’t enough room to put the hich on

The transmission cooler is inadequate on the Jeep Liberty CRD. You really need a transmission oil temperature sensor and a secondary cooler installed. I kept overheating my transmission climbing up the Henry Mountains south of Hanksville, with no trailer. Had to use snow and creek water to cool it down (instant snow to steam). Also, it was near freezing halfway up the mountain, and it still overheated.

I towed around 5000 lbs from Alabama to Alaska. Average mpg of 18. Also, I would never tow that again. The short wheel base is not ideal. I also wore out my rear suspension. One thing I didn't hear you mention was turning off over drive. Great video!

It’s rated at 5K, no problem. I love mine. Had both gas and Diesel. Great all around Vehicle. I like it more then any other car I have owned.

I wished I would have had the chance to tow something with my old Jeep. But it probably would have accelerated some problem that I'm glad I wouldn't have had to fix. Cool though.

Great video. I have four CRD's, one 2005 model and three 2006 models. I would like to know more about adding a transmission cooler to one of them. I have often towed with all of these jeeps, but I usually keep the weight down to 2500 pounds or less. I recently towed a 5X10 flat trailer loaded at about 2500 pounds total over Interstate 90 from Washington state to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, which is about 1400 miles. I closely watched the temperature gouge. The pass at Butte Montana is 6750 feet. I went over it at night and I used the passenger heat exchanger as a second radiator to keep the gauge from going way up. The inside of the cab was warm. Every piece of radiator hose on this jeep was new as of one year ago and I have a new water pump and radiator as well. You really need to make sure that all of the radiator coolant hoses are in good shape before you tow a heavy load a long way. There are small coolant hoses in the EGR cooler system that will burst and then you are stuck.

Hehehe, my bestfriend's neighbour has one, heard the thing rolling up the hill and was wondering what the hell was comin up the hill and I see the diesel Liberty rolling past with a 20 footer RV trailer. After I left, saw the jeep sitting out front of their house with the hood open, trailer backed into the driveway still attached. Thinking he over heated the damn thing.

Bought one of these a month ago. Really like it so far. Keep getting told they're bad engines/vehicles though.

I would not say they are bad, but some people have had had problems , do the egr delete and join jeep liberty crd page on Facebook, lots of good info located there and knowledgeable folks as well. There have been issues related to dropped valves or damaged valves. A head rebuild and few other upgrades would really extend the life of the engine. If you can do the work yourself it would save you A lot of money

@@GitItGarage I'll look into that egr delete. I know it does have some changes to it. K&n air system, aftermarket exhaust, lift kit. So with all that it probably will have problems down the road but no stranger to working on vehicles. Thanks!

How much was it to rent that lift I rented the same one in nova scotia it was 350 a day

I saw 2006 liberty crd 260k km with fuel injector problem is this easy enough to fix I know part is expensive but if I can save on labour by doing it my self . Should I buy it or should I just sun away from it?

My 2005 crd is having transmission problems . Wont switch out of 2nd gear. The shop says I need a rebuild. any ideas ?

It's diesel it MUST have more torque and better ratios than the v6 gas... FYI the CRD has a lower GCWR than the 3.7...........
