One of the best lifts I have seen! I would like to accomplish this at some time possibly, I just know the requirements! Nice to hear you had no issues with driving the vehical at a 6" lift! I could tell by the tire stance and everything else that you probably wouldn't have any issues! Like you said, the geometry looks as it should! Really nice vehical

Nice lj i didn't know you still can get a full traction 6in long arm lift kit i own a 2005 lj rubicon wrecked that looks completely different i also have a full traction 6in long arm lift hard top altas twinn transfer, sitting on 35x12.50 Mickey Thompson arb roof rack arb bull bumper 9.0 rc warren winch and hanson off road full wrap around basket jerry can holder with swing out tire carrier, i started sagging on back due to weight i bought a pair of rc spring correction plates ans acos adjustable spring mounts turns out i really didn't need acos with zero adjustment on acos and rc springs correction that a long add a 3.5 inch liftt rear i highly recommend the rc rear spring correction plates it will take a lot of the curve out of the spring and add some lift My lj to me it the last real all metal body old school i also have a sprintec supercharger like you im still working out some bugs i keep blowing my tps throttle position sensor, and my question is with the full traction 6inch lift do you feel a sway when driving ive own many tj this first jeep i had a lift on the jeep and not sure what to expect when driving i live texas i bought many of the things on my jeep before i bought the jeep so true on full traction and hanson off road it will take long time to get any parts due to not popular in the jk or jl era but it dose feel good to be the odd ball not the cookie cutter look i also installed black magic big brakes on front and trying to find the exhaust system that was specially made for 6in will never be made again but the small muffler was not made from full traction but made by( spin tech) you can still buy this muffler nice to know old school still alive and well a look from many years ago i buid my jeep for overlanding Let me know about your ride feel.if you have any sway i get nervous over 65 mph i will put a KZbin viedo up in near future
@rockquestoff-road28394 жыл бұрын
So cool man! Sounds like a really cool build...I do not have any sway on the rear...my guess would be worn bushings on the wishbone on the rear or the heims are worn...anything loose at all will let the suspension move side to side which would make it feel loose in the rear...hope you track that down soon! Love being unusual and have different parts that not many people use! So fun!

Gorgeous build! One of the cleanest ljs ive seen i love it. I have a 98 tj same color and i hope it looks half as good when im done. I had a question not sure if youll see but is there a reason you went with a y link steering and not a high steer setup with separate high steer arm? Thinking maybe not enough lift to run high steer but not sure which handles better. Im in the process of setting up steering with a full 67wms axle on 4.5 inches.
@rockquestoff-road28392 ай бұрын
Hey!!! Thank you for the kind words! The high steer required a lot more work to the knuckles and steering box. This was simpler and cheaper.

Did you narrow the the new axles or did you run them at the full width ?? The stance on that jeep looks good. Nice job, good looking jeep.
@rockquestoff-road28394 жыл бұрын
We ran them full width...the front is a 99-2004 Superduty/Excursion Dana 50 which is 69.25 inches WMS to WMS (wheel mounting surface)...the 99-2004 Dana 60 is the same width and the rear Sterling 10.5 we used is from a 2005 F350...it is 70 inches WMS to WMS...we used some American racing Ansel Off Road wheels in the 8x170mm lug pattern with 5.7 inches of backspacing to tuck the tires in as much as possible because we didn’t want it to look super wide 👍🏻thank you man! Appreciate the kind words!
@TrentsGarage3 жыл бұрын
That's a 4 link in the back FYI. The 3 link is up front.
@rockquestoff-road28393 жыл бұрын
Well actually its a solid wishbone upper in the back....the front suspension is 4 link with a track bar 👍🏻
@eddietuckerjr.28584 жыл бұрын
Why did you decide to go with the Full Traction long arm instead of some other newer designs? Just curious...I'm not trying to flame FT or anything.
@rockquestoff-road28394 жыл бұрын
No problem man! We just wanted to try because no one else was running them anymore these days...the 3 link rear with wishbone design is also 1 of a kind...I think Teraflex and others have great 4 link triangulated setups and axle truss mounting configurations but we ended up just trying it to be unique and we like the wishbone...customer service and the ordering process was HORRIBLE and the owner is ridiculous so I would not buy FT again or recommend it to anyone...but the kit itself with some mods and adjustment is superb and has so torque raise or sag...really nice geometry and road ride at 70 is amazing...can’t believe how stable with one tons and 38s...rides really soft too
@eddietuckerjr.28584 жыл бұрын
@@rockquestoff-road2839 I read a ton about how bad the customer service is. But, I like you said, there are plenty of people who say good stuff about their kit. If you don't mind me asking, what problems did you run into with them? I am trying to decide to take the plunge on their 4" LA kit.
@rockquestoff-road28394 жыл бұрын
It took around 6 months to get the kit finally...and they said the shocks were on back order from bilstein...we called and checked over several months and the owner said the same thing every time...we looked up the part numbers and got them on amazon and called bilstein and they said there were no issues getting them at all...weird...they would not refund the shock order and kept saying they would send them when they got them...finally got them to refund a month later
@rockquestoff-road28394 жыл бұрын
So if you just get the kit itself and be prepared to wait for several months you won’t be disappointed in the quality of the parts for sure...it’s just a matter of sticking it out 👌🏻

Love this build! How does it handle on the road? Slow and sluggish with the one tons or is it hardly noticeable ? TIA!
@rockquestoff-road28393 жыл бұрын
It drives really well!! It’s more loose on center as far as the steering goes but it’s just something you get used to. The Jeep corners really flat and the rear end is never torquing or flexing on corners or hard acceleration...really surprised me how well it works with the rear wishbone 3 link and no track bar or sway bar...it stops extremely well but that’s just because the 1 ton brakes are so much larger...the stock master cylinder works perfect with the larger brakes. Drives straight and true at 70. As far as power goes it’s really about the same on acceleration which was never anything to write home about stock...with 5.38s the acceleration is stock strong...at Highway speed is where you notice more though...pulling hills at 60+ requires a downshift or 2....the 42RLE has such a deep overdrive ratio that stock it struggled up hill too...If you could run a 14 bolt rear or dana 60 rear and a dana60 front perhaps you could get 7.17 gears that would make overdrive usable but we think it’s just unnecessary...we just turn OVerdrive off on the dash and it handles hills at speed much better...you can choose to put overdrive back on for downhills but we don’t drive Highway much in it...hope that helps!

@@rockquestoff-road2839 thanks for the quick response! I’m thinking about going with SD 60 and sterling 10.5 rear. I have a 06 LJ rubicon with stock motor @46k miles. 6 speed transmission. My main concern was the added weight and the engine struggling with the bigger axles. Sounds like road manners are still good and acceleration is about the same, so that is a relief since I do daily it

@@rockquestoff-road2839 just placed an order on all the parts including wheels with 5” BS. Going with race line beadlocks. Are you still using the stock brake master cylinder?
@rockquestoff-road28393 жыл бұрын
Man going beadlocks right away is the best plan...in hindsight that’s one thing we would have done differently. Yes we use the stock master cylinder and it’s perfect. People are always talking about changing master cylinders and capacity etc. but we have had these axles on a stock Cherokee with the stock brake system and now this LJ with stock brake components and it works perfect...you will be surprised how much better it stops than stock on baby tires lol

Why the dana 50? Out of curiosity
@rockquestoff-road28395 жыл бұрын
Just to be different 😁...everyone runs 60s for obvious reasons...found a great deal on this 50 with 5.38 gears already in it and a locker...it is basically a Dana 44/60 hybrid...dana 44 size pinion with a 9 inch ring gear....dana 60 outers, U joints and knuckles...reverse rotation high pinion and you can shave it for quite a bit more clearance...it’s heavy but not really a big deal overall...we used a Artec 60 Swap bracket kit which fit almost perfect...we only ever broke a stub shaft on our stock dana 44 front end in our XJ build with 37s so it should hold up great for what we wheel!
