Jeep Patriot Chrysler (Mitsubishi) Starter, Test & Reconditioning

In this video I show how I disassembled an old Jeep Patriot starter made by Mitsubishi I had in stock. You will also see how I cleaned, inspect, replace a bushing and reassembled all the parts. The torque information is shown during the work. Comparative starter tests, before and after, are also done.

There is no metal ball shown in my documentation and when I disassembled the starter, there was no metal ball. Can you give me any link online with an illustration or a picture showing this metal ball in the hole? Thanks!

@@mtlcarguy I have no schema. A few days ago I was repairing a mitsubishi starter (M000T91181ZC) in a jeep wj and there was a ball. The starter has never been repaired before.

@@lukimaliniak7 Based on your starter part number I found a picture and it is different from the M000T32071 I worked on. Your Mitsubishi/Chrysler Starter M000T91181ZC could be a new revision of the old Mitsubishi starter MD619158 that was using a planetary shaft steel ball. Since you worked on this starter, you can have a look at the starter MD619158 parts nomenclature @ www.mitsoemparts.ca/p/52170164/MD619158.html . You can also look at the metal ball PN: 76-2812 @ www.aspwholesale.com/starter-parts/mitsubishi/bushings.html Does it look like your M000T91181ZC parts ?

@@mtlcarguy Yes, this starter in the schematic looks exactly like mine. BTW thank you for the schematics, I couldn't find them anywhere
