Jeep Patriot / Compass Scissor Jack & Floor Jack Jacking Points and Car Ramps

In this video I show the basic procedures to use the Jeep Patriot (Compass) jacking points with an emergency scissor jack and a floor jack. I also show how I drive up my vehicle on car ramps.

Hello my friend, I was just wondering if you are aware of a common issue with the abs wiring on the patriot. I have changed the abs sensor, hub and bearing but the light is still on, so it must be a wiring issue.

The common problem is the rear wheels speed sensor rusty holding system on AWD vehicles. For proper troubleshooting, you should re-scan the ABS system with a proper scan tool to read the specific fault code(s). You can also look at the live DATA to know if the sensor produce any logic signals when the vehicle is moving. Make sure the sensor is properly installed to generate the pulses.

@@mtlcarguy thank you so much for your reply. my mechanic has put “LOST 12 VOLT FEED”, so does this mean a wire has snapped somewhere?

@@cameronpeach5534 It is possible. One wire is a +12V power feed and the other one is the speed sensor return signal. The body harness 2 pin connector is behind the quarter trim panel. If the ABS module sends the +12V there is a chance to solve the problem by replacing the ABS Wheel Speed Sensor.

If i need to lift the entire vehicle onto jack stands do i just lift one side, lower it onto a stand, and then go to the next wheel on the same side (driver/passenger) to do the same and then repeat for the opposite side?

''Safety is the priority''... so I normally avoid lifting any vehicle and support it onto 4 jack stands. I did it once with my Jeep Patriot but I used four 6-ton jack stands to improve the stability and the safety. It was on an even concrete floor, the shifter was in park position, the parking brakes were engaged and the two wheels on the right side of the vehicle were blocked with wheel chocks. (1) I jacked up and supported the front left side of the vehicle. (2) I jacked up and supported the rear left side of the vehicle. (3) I jacked up and supported the front right side of the vehicle. (4) I jacked up and supported the rear right side of the vehicle. (5) I checked the stability of the vehicle. (6) I used my 2 steel car ramps as back up support to improve the safety ( I don't play with my life). Later when the work was completed, I lowered the vehicle following the reverse steps. Someone should know that you work under a vehicle and be able to help you at any moment if something goes wrong. Note: I don't trust jack stands with a small base.
