ive got to say, this video was extremely well done. even down to the minor details such as double checking the box for any parts which may or may not have still been in it. while im sure at least one or two ppl watching this mightve thought that was a waste of time or something , i could easily see tons of people trying to DIY their own mechanic work only to ending up with what they might call "extra pieces" after putting everything back together and either making a person have to redo a job , or worse yet, missing something crucial and causing worse dmg. i for one am not very skilled at automotive work, so it wouldn't be hard to see how lack of experience could give you tunnel vision . keep up the good work . youve got a talent teaching others. i can tell you love what you do and your attention to detail shows it. youve given me enough confidence to do this job right and save a ton of money. thanks man.

Very well explained.... very good job I actually brought my car to a shop to have the fluid changed and they said they got a kit for it and I'm guessing they didn't have the filter you put in ... just the one that goes under pan...275 bucks and it's not done right..... I'm not positive they didn't do it but most kits don't come with that upper filter...(some do some don't) I can definitely do that job myself I just didn't feel like changing the fluid myself as I don't have a garage or proper jacks and stands but I'm capable of doing it...next time I will be doing it myself lol!!!!!!! Ill get the proper jacks and stands in need it's cheaper than having a shop do it and possibly not have done it all...

I dont know whether this CVT is good, will still whine and go into limp mode regardless of changing both filters and oil, i think there is a problem with the CVT fluid has no sufficient voscosity to withstand higher temperature generated by the CVT belt inside and it starts slipping😊

Can you change the upper filter with the car cold, having been sitting overnight? Or does it have to be done with the pan dropped? I had the dealer do my fluid change, only to find out after that they DON'T do the upper filter. There is at least one other configuration of this filter and housing. I have a 2011 with towing and off road, it has a round filter housing with 4 hoses coming out. Total nightmare to get to the bolts. The forth you have to do blind with a 4" extension and a lot of patience. Can't get from the bottom, no room. Have to glue or tape the bolts to the socket on the bottom ones to get them in. My filter was all sludge. What a stupid location!

How to check the fluid level?
@montydaniels10543 жыл бұрын
Kristopher, they do sell what they call a universal dip stick on amazon. Now on my 2010 Jeep Patriot, I noticed that my Engine Oil Dipstick was long enough to get an accurate reading when I put it in my Transmission. So the next time I was at the Auto Salvage Yard that also has a vehicle list on their website, while there getting a couple parts for our Patriot, I just went & looked at all the pulled engines they had & found a dipstick that was close to about 2 inches longer than my Engine Dipstick that I used earlier. (I mentioned that above) When I got back home I trimmed the Bottom of the stick about 1 inch off the length so the top fit flush into the Dipstick Tube, then **I used a File & put 2 Fluid Level Marks** on the stick. (I did take my Dremel to etch Better Marks on the Dipstick, which were much easier to read) **The one mark was with **Engine Off With Vehicle Sitting Level.** **The 2nd Mark was with **Engine On With Vehicle Sitting Level.** Note: I let Vehicle run like 10 to 15 Minutes to insure that the CVT Transmission Fluid was Hot. So just for the record, I found using a normal Dipstick & doing what I explained above, was way easier than using a 4 foot long ''Universal'' Dipstick which fits 20 different vehicles + It sticks out of the Filler Tube 18 inches.... The reason the Manufacturers do not have Transmission Dipsticks is that they claim ''The Vehicle Owner Doesn't Know How To Properly Maintain &/or Check Fluid Level.'' I tend to differ from that. I have yet to have a transmission go out due to maintaining issues or failing to check the fluid level. But that's me... Hope this helps someone...

@Nestor Auto Repair . ***Guys, make sure to read below on how I got the Rusted Battery Tray Bolts out.*** Hi Nestor, Although I've watched these fluid filter change video's before, it's always good to check yours again, just prior to heading outside to do the job. Thanks for posting the video Nestor, it is informative and a well done one too, which isn't full of a lot of Blah-Blah-Blah. You get right to the point which is so cool....... (2-Thumbs Up Buddy).....MD... Edit: The bad part is 4 of those 5 bolts were too bad for a regular socked. I used the sockets made to grip partially stripped bolt heads, like what happens to the Bleeder's on Brake Calipers. So far I have the ''Top 3 Broke Loose.'' Since I'm missing the 12mm socket, I'll have to find one separate or just spend the money to get another set. Nothing a $20 bill can't handle at Harbor Freight.... It's always something isn't it...
