Jeep Renegade (2021) Bad Crash Test Result

The passenger compartment of the 2020-2021 Jeep Renegade remained stable in the frontal offset test. Dummy readings showed good protection of the knees and femurs of both the driver and passenger. Jeep showed that a similar level of protection would be provided to occupants of different sizes and to those sitting in different positions. In the full-width rigid barrier test, protection of the driver's neck and that of the rear passenger's chest was rated as marginal, based on dummy readings of tensile forces and rib compression respectively. Otherwise, protection was good or adequate. In the side barrier impact, protection of all critical parts of the body was good and the car scored maximum points in this test. In the more severe side pole impact, readings of rib compression indicated marginal chest protection, with good protection of other body areas. Tests on the front seats and head restraints demonstrated good protection against whiplash injuries in the event of a rear-end collision. A geometric assessment of the rear seats indicated marginal whiplash protection. An autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system is available on the Renegade. However, as this is an option, it was not tested as part of this assessment.
In the frontal offset test, protection of all critical body areas was good or adequate for both the 6 and 10 year dummies. In the side barrier test, protection was good all-round, and the Renegade scored maximum points for this part of the assessment. The front passenger airbag can be disabled to allow a rearward-facing child restraint to be used in that position. Clear information is provided to the driver regarding the status of the airbag and the system was rewarded. One universal child restraint could not be properly installed in the rear centre seat as the centre console interfered with the positioning of the support leg. Otherwise, all restraint types for which the Renegade is designed could be properly installed and accommodated in the car.
The Jeep Renegade has a seatbelt reminder system for the front and rear seats. A lane support system helps to prevent inadvertent drifting out of lane. A camera-based speed limit recognition system informs the driver of the local speed limit and can be set to limit the speed of the vehicle appropriately. The AEB system is an option and is not included in this assessment.

I mean I got hit by a full size suv and the back trunk is just dented in a lil bit the bumper didn’t even crack is just has a small hole from the impact and it’s not even really a hole, if someone owns one do me a favor and knock on the back end of the car it is really built solid I’m telling you and this shit is a road rage machine lol

I was Stuck head on by a Ford truck in my 2021 jeep renegade, I was going about 45 MPH, I only suffered from intense bruising on my legs but other that me and my 3 yr old who was in the back seat were safe. The car was completely totaled

Don't run over people, especially not a problem if you live in the country, and don't text and drive, and you're good to go with a vehicle that has a 5 star crash rating where it matters.

Sin alardear mi gente y con mucha humildad. Tengo una Ram 1500 y un Avalon. Ahora tengo una Renegade Latitude ( no 4x4) y me siento súper contento. Muy bella la unidad. So I'm not seeing a "BAD" test. Due to a cars size and weight the side impact tests can be suspect. These appear to be a European testing lab and not the Insurance Institute here in the US. I always look at the offset and side impact. Both of these tests were fine. Maybe an attempt to throw some corporate shade. Very disappointing.

@@OggyGTA Dynoed two for a baseline for a company that was going to mod them to see if they could become a worthy offroader both 2021 Renegades one 342 miles the other 564 the low mileage was bought new was a test drive vehicle the high mileage was bought as "used" as a loaner for customers who had their car in the shop. the lower mileage put out 126 hp at 6600rpm the high mileage only put out 117 and had an oil leak at 6400 rpms. this is a horrible motor from a horrible history of vehicles including the worthless Dodge Dart

Euroncap tests differently not to mention cars differ in different markets. If you would go on their website you'd see that the 500X has 4 stars and the Renegade 3. They both scored basically the same in the Adult and child occupants rating but different in pedestrian and safety assist.

They will always try their hardest to go out of their way to deduct any rating, regardless of test site, for american vehicles. Theyve always done this.
