Jeep renegade (first one that I could find on the internet at least) makes it up hells gate in Moab. Done 6-1-19 during the 2019 jeepnanigans meetup for Jeep renegades in Moab. If you’ve done this in a renegade before me post it up! I hear some did it in feb? #jeeprenegade #hellsgate #hellsrevenge #moab #jeepmoab #renegadetrailhawk #jeepnanigans2019 @sierrabluejroc #hankooktires #teraflexsuspension #daystar #toasterjeep #eibach

The driver had to work the wheels but made it very impressive. I didn't think it would have the power to climb the steep areas but it had just enough. Good driving and spotting.

There’s some climbs on the rest of hells revenge that are steeper. I was there a month prior to this and chickened out. But then I did the rest of hells and realized it’s not that steep. I was worried about the power to get up. Obviously I picked a horrible line at the end but I was just focused on getting out. I think it could do that last part better with a better line.

@@dc_advntr5525 Yes it's more intimidating than steep especially when you see the rollovers and I will definitely try it in my FJ Cruiser next trip to Moab. Keep the videos coming when you do more climbs and thanks for posting.

I'm one of very few South African's who drives one off these. No modifications on mine accept some proper offroad tyres. I've been able to keep up with larger vehicles on most obstacles. Only one's that I really can't do are the ones where ride hight is needed. Everything else the little Renegade is very good at. Also been able to keep up with Suzuki Jimmy's and do some obstacles they couldn't who are not available in the U.S. they're incredible little 4X4s with a reputation for being able to handle anything. They have good ground clearance and are light as a feather. But the Jeep kept up with them easily

@@krebgurfson5732 I know your comment is old. But man.. the ONLY thing this little jeep cant really do that the wrangler can is deep mud/water and BIG rock crawling. The 4x4 system on these things is insane and substitutes traction control and electronic brake control for lockers. Most places where ground clearance or "break something" mud arent a factor, this little jeep will go. Granted, they ARE NOT Wranglers and they never will be. But i will say this.. my friend has a 2014 Wrangler with about a 3.5in lift and 34s or 35s on his, and his Jeep would be unstoppable with the 4x4 system on the renegade. Again, the renegade isnt equal, it never will be simply because it lacks the ground clearance to even cross standing water as easy as a Wrangler does. But dont let it fool you, the renegade is plenty capable if your goal is to have fun wheeling and be able t drive the same vehicle to and from the trails. If youre looking for something to mud bog and potentially send your Dana 44 out the back in pieces... then the renegade isnt for you. It'll go almost anywhere. Not fast, and not as easy.. and in some cases id pack a fresh pair of underpants if your pucker factor isnt that high.. but man.. its a great little Jeep.

@@dc_advntr5525 Thank you for the reply. The modes confuse me a little. If I put it in 1st gear manually is that as low as it will get. I have a trail hawk and it has 4 low rock, but it will cut power to the wheels if they spin. Is 1st gear as low as 4 low rock?
@dc_advntr5525
@dc_advntr5525 3 жыл бұрын
You are correct. 1st gear manually is as low as you will get. Our “low” button forces the transmission to stay in first gear (till a certain speed anyway, then it will shift to protect itself.). So you can push the low button with any mode and it will be in first gear. Rock mode is a mode only offered to the trailhawks but it doesn’t make the gearing any lower. It’s really only good on solid rock like Moab because you are correct, it will cut power when it senses slip. I use mud and low 95% of the time because it allows a little wheel spin.

@dc_advntr5525
@dc_advntr5525 3 жыл бұрын
Not for off roading. When you put it in low it will turn that off anyway. But if you want to do donuts in the snow, put it in snow mode or push the traction control button. Also, if you want to do donuts, press and hold the traction control button for 9 seconds until you see “esc off” message on the dash. That will turn off the electric stability control. That’s the system that applies brakes when you’re sliding sideways. Join the Facebook group jeep renegade life. Lots of questions can be answered there too.

The springs alone will give you 1” of lift over your stock setup. The springs are also a bit stronger than stock so you won’t sag as much when you’re loaded with gear.
