Jeep Renegade Review -The Cute Wrangler? 2018 Latitude

I just bought a 2018 Jeep Renegade Lattitude AWD, and this review helped seal the deal for me. I had a 2015 Dodge Dart GT, but they stopped making them. I really liked uConnect and the touch screen, but really wanted Apple Carplay. This seems like the closest facsimile to what I had, that Fiat-Chrysler makes these days. It was nice to know that it's still push-start with the bluetooth key fob, and remote start too. Almost all the features I had are still present in this model. I think it's a great trade up in terms of space, but amazingly, this has the exact same engine and is 200 lbs. lighter curb weight than my Dodge Dart. Not a Jeep fan by any stretch, or looking for offroading, but your review confirmed for me that this is the more comfortable and practical side of Jeep. The all wheel drive will be great to have in the winter with all the snow we get.

@@LJsGarage After owning one for years, I completely agree. It was very underwhelming in terms of power. It is an interesting and reliable engine though. I think the failure in the Dart was more related to the drive-by-wire system in that car, where the throttle response was not instant. It didn't really put out a lot of torque until the high end of 3rd gear. The exhaust note on the GT definitely set it apart from the other Darts though. I will miss that.

Mine 2018 sport 2.4L. 50k plus miles have owned since new. Have done all required maintenance. No catastrophic issues , just basic stuff. Handles Maine winters with ease. Been offered good trade-in from the dealer several times. No more payments keeping my little Jeep.

Thank you! And it's great on oil and gas. Oil changes are the usual 7-10k miles and mpg like 24/31. I appreciate your Jeep love

@@LJsGarage nice 👍. I was able to test drive yesterday!!! A lot of fun. It did have like a burnt oil smell to it?, this was after I parked. No obvious smoke but saw that faint clear smoke. So I did more review research and I hope this oil consumption isn’t a true thing. 😕but I appreciate your response and video!

Mechanically yes, however Jeep(Fiat) electronic systems can be a pain. These are holding up well though! They have used this powertrain for a long time so they get the job done. A little underpowered, but efficient.
