I also installed this kit. I love it! Very sturdy! A tip: if you leave the tailgate closed when you remove your stock hinges it makes it much easier! I did still need to use a jack and some blocks to fine tune the closing. But it was very close and functioned before I readjusted it!

Regarding the aftermarket corner guards and the spacers you made for the hinges. Did you also use the body reinforcement bracket that came with kit on top of the corner guards?

Hi thx for the vid. Can u pls explain the purpose for the offset brackets. I don't understand what their purpose is? It just moves the spare tire further away from the vehicle? More clearance for wider tires?

Its a good question. Yes, I believe it allows for more customization to move your tire to the driver's side to allow for larger tires and moving the tire up or down and away from the body about an inch. I installed mine so it would be as high and as far to the passenger side as I could and to make clearance for my wider tires. I now have less backspacing on my rims so I might try removing the brackets to get the tire closer to the body but that will also lower the tire about an inch.

It also allows you to reinstall your factory third brake light if you want to.

Can you clarify for me I ordered this whole set but only received the tailgate hinges and hardware not the brace for the tailgate. I paid $200 so do you think I ordered it wrong!

Great question! I'm planning on filming it this weekend while my family is out visiting the in laws. Should be up sometime in the next week or two. Had the rear end let go on the Jeep last month so things have gotten a tad behind.

What size tire do you have on there?

35x12.5x15 -- MT/R and so far no issues at all feels like there is hardly any weight on the there.

@@samiam2714 Would it fit likely but depending on your bumper it could hit. However its pretty easy to modify these to raise the tire. The bigger issue would be the weight but some 37s are lighter than some 35s so totally depends on the tire/rim setup. Personally I think I'd go with a bumper mounted tire carrier for larger than 35.

What type of tire mount did you use with the kit?

It is just the factory mount. I painted and cleaned it up before putting it back on.

Kit only works on Tjs and I see they have a JK kit but nothing for YJ.

My fender flares in this video are the factory rubicon flares. The corner guards are the Poison Spider.
