I just wired up my Jeep and I was surprised how bad the wiring diagram was I glad to hear you feel the same. It’s interesting to see where your horn is located. That’s where mine is and I was told that was the wrong spot. Thanks for the video

You’re welcome! Yeah for as simple as they are you would think the instructions would be better.

I used the exact same harness on my cj2a, also has horn on fire wall. My original wiring was as bad or worse than this. I started the replacement by using masking tape to label each connection end according to the directions with numbers instead of hash marks. Directions show line no's. along with hash marks, I found this made it less confusing. My signal light switch had wires cut so I also had to figure them out, which I did on my bench using four old tail lights. Walck's directions were followed but did find one or two sections that I thought weren't quite right. When all said and done everything worked as it should on first try. I would buy this harness again as it was well built in my opinion.

Exactly. It’s well made but the diagram is a joke. There’s a ton of info available on line.

I do life safety systems now for a living. Fire alarms, card access, burglar alarms, CCTV. That honestly looks easy to me. If you ever move to Michigan and need a job hit me up. You'd pick it up really fast.

Cool! Yeah as far as automotive wiring goes it doesn’t get much easier than these things. The worst part is nothing on the dash is removable and there is no room to work. You have to remove the seats and lay on your back with you head on the floor looking up. Not so good when you’re over 6 foot. Haha!!

My CJ2A's wiring is in the same shape. Drains the battery overnight, no lights, does charge thanks to some replacement wires, but it needs a total wiring harness replacement.

After I recorded the video I found out the alternator was bad. It has a short in it somewhere.

How many hours did it take to remove and replace the entire harness?
@redeyecafegarage74842 жыл бұрын
I would say around 6-8 hours in the whole thing

Oh no... a solex😬
@redeyecafegarage74843 жыл бұрын
Absolutely nothing wrong with a solex. People get all worked up over their Carter’s but a good running solex doesn’t bother me a bit. This one starts and runs good. I’ve found they actually work better off camber than a wo.... that being said I know some people have trouble with them but I haven’t.
