I'm glad it passed the "ultimate " Test!! 🤓 I've been shopping around for exhausts for my JL 2 door manual, and your video helped my along in my decision process. I'm leaning towards a muffle delete kit too.

I get the impression the aftermarket exhaust vendors don't want people figuring out that for about $100, you get the following: 1. awesome sound, 2. inexpensive upgrade, 3. more power, 4. weight savings, over stock, and other , more elaborate systems, 5. high clearance. When this mod is paired up with a Holley Intech air intake, and tune, you should see a good 20-30 hp gain...😎

I had the same delete pipe, i couldn't deal with it on the highway. So i returned it. Thought about trying the AFE high tuck, word has it has a bit less drone.

I’ve had it on for about a week now and doesn’t bother me…my last car had a similar sound. I don’t notice a drone but it is loud getting up to speed. Once at highway speeds I don’t notice it until the Jeep downshifts. So far so good for me.

So did you end up keeping it on? I ordered one it will be here on Thurs. I think I'm gonna revive the muffler on Tues to see how I like it and return it if I don't. From your video I think it sounds good.

Hey Mark...sorry for the late response. Yes, I did keep it on the Jeep. To be honest, it does drone a bit as you get up to speed; however, once at highway speeds it is fine in 7th and 8th gear. If it downshifts below 7th there is a bit of a drone. I kinda like the way it sounds and don't plan to change it out...I can see how some folks would not like it. Let me know what you think when you get yours installed. I'd be interested to know if you like it.

sorry for the late reply...not bad at all. Getting up to speed you'll certainly hear it but once you are in 8th gear it sounds no different than when you have a muffler. Maybe I've just gotten used to it.

How much weight you saved by taking off the muffler?

Probably 20ish pounds. For me, it was more about losing the muffler hanging down so low and catching rocks on the trail.
