ever figure out what it was? I replacer blower motor, resister, and control unit. still no fan speeds

I'm about to recharge my ac with AC Pro. But one thing I am trying to find out is why the hvac knob on the right of this panel is running hot, the other 2 are cool, no issues. Of note, I have replaced the old stock plastic with billet steel knobs. I looked at it and so did a local shop I trust in the area. And we both saw no melting of the switch or anything else. It's been a head scratcher for months. What worries me after I recharge the system with freon, I have a long drive ahead of me that requires air conditioning in this summer heat, and this knob is going to be getting hot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I think the blower motor is going bad. What I've read is as these motors go bad they draw more power causing the wires to melt.

@@scratchytj7529 Replaced the blower motor and the right knob is only slightly warm now since it's billet steel. A definite improvement. Now I have to get the ac fixed since learning the service station overcharged it a few years ago.
