Yes, it's another Jeep Wrangler... No, I'm not proud of it.
This one has a multitude of neglectful problems caused by lack of maintenance. So, I've got the job of fixing this nonsense.
This is quite a long video today. I go about repairing everything from wheel bearings, to steering geometry, to wiring, with the added bonus of discovering how bad aftermarket products and Jeep design is!
Yes, I'm not a fan of Jeeps... But I own this thing somehow...

AHHH brings back memories not good ones really I had a 65TH anniversary one in silver that I put next to my house under a tree so I couldn’t see my expensive investment 😭😭😭and let it run out of rego I decided it was time to go once I was medicated I took it for a blue slip and yes it failed I had similar problems as you did yes axle seals brakes roof radiator and yes the first cheap eBay radiator leaked so I did that twice which the shroud didn’t fit properly yes a nightmare in / out 3 times I really had trouble getting it passed the brake test they really have bad brakes You really have to love Jeeps and I really don’t think buying one will improve your life I felt your pain all video Thanks for depressing me today cheers Dan

I am guessing by the fact it has a 6 speed, but still has rear drum brakes, it is either really late 1990s or early 2000s. I bought a 97 brand new when the TJ model first came out. It had a 5 speed manual and rear drums. I built a 2005 LJ (the longer one) for my daughter. By then, they had disk brakes at all 4 corners. The 4.0 L I-6 is an extremely stout engine for a gasser. Basically, it's an old-school AMC block w/ fuel injection. I did a long arm 3" kit on my daughters LJ. It is the way to go to get the geometry right and get the arms level again on the short wheel base. They already flexed extremely well from the factory. The long arm is more about returning the arms to level. The TJ and LJ were a couple of the last of the good basic wheeling machines. As info, I think they look better with the Bushwhacker flat fender flares. And they give more room for the tires to flex up in there without hitting. Also, keep in mind it is a 20 some year old machine. Axle seals, pinion seals, etc are all going to be part of the game in restoring something that old. Maybe need new oil pan and gasket, and do the rear main seal while you're in there. Maybe water pump and steering gearbox soon. Once some of these things are replaced, you have another 20 plus years on them.

It's the last run of the TJ, so a 2006. One of 1500 apparently. I can only assume it has rear drums because of the factory Dana 44 this model got. You tend to get the weaker 30 or 35 in the other ones.

@ridiculousthings4x4 my daughter's LJ is an 05 and it came stock with a rear 44 and 4vwheel disks. Perhaps the releases in AU were different than the US. I was just reading that the D44 with disks became an option in the US on all trims starting in 03. I was thinking it became standard because I saw so many with it, but no.

Hey Bud, just wondering, are you going to change those sketchy lookin' front brake hose, they look like they've seen better days, like the rest of the shit box, and no I don't like Jeeps, vomit. I do hope this is a do up and piss off for profit thing and not an actual keep and drive on the road and to be seen in it thing, please say no haha. At least now it does Jeepy things. Seeya Rob

Thankfully it's a fix up and sell. I only bought it to help someone out, so I think the "profit" aspect is non-existent.

@@ridiculousthings4x4 Just a thought on the wheels and flares difference, can you get or make a spacer to go between the flare and the guard, as in take off the flare, fit the spacer to the flare with longer bolts and then refit to you vehicle, also have you thought about making stickers for the channel, I like the round Ridiculous 4x4 things at the end of the vid. Seeya Rob...........on the bottom right.

That would definitely work. The issue lies with the NSW police of the Reich defecting such things. Only 25mm per side is allowed as a deviation from factory offset, so the wheels alone are illegal. Stickers are also in the works 😂 in time for the Sydney 4wd show

I'm sorry. Don't worry, this video lost me 2 subscribers as punishment. I probably wasn't clear in the video, but the original radiator it turns out was fine once refitted. Just the lower hose was leaking. Strangely, it's the aftermarket stuff that sucks on jeeps. That long arm kit, and the steering stuff... Badly designed garbage.
