This manifold was for my 95 yj. I didn’t need to heat them up but that is s good trick if they are stuck.

I notice the breather/tiny air filter on top of your ccv valve on the top back side of your valve cover? how well does that work for you? What effects does it have? I have bad oil blowback on mine and im curious if this could help aside from just cleaning/replacing the ccv valve itself. Any takes appreatiated :)
@OFFAxisBuilds Жыл бұрын
So the idea is that you don’t get the oil blow by back through your throttle body or your air filter. I had to take it off because it wasn’t CA compliant. But now that I’m out of CA I plan on putting it back.

So i went to the dealership with a few questions. They told me the exhaust manifold doesn't get a gasket.(right?!) Ive been watching many of these videos on this job and this is best one out of 20 or so. Thanks for the video. My motor also had the same bolt back out as the one at 6:50. Anyone know where i can find it? Dealership says they dont make them anymore and cant seem to find the correct one.
@OFFAxisBuilds4 жыл бұрын
Justin Truck so the dealership is correct. They didn’t come with a gasket. However I have had a leak there twice before putting a gasket there. That is why I put one in. Since this video I haven’t had a leak. So I would say it needs one. But make sure it’s a good quality gasket and not the cardboard type. Thanks for watching.
@OFFAxisBuilds4 жыл бұрын
Justin Truck so you can usually get that bolt from O’Reillys or auto zone. Make sure you put high temp lock tight on the engine side.

What did you use to to clean the carburetor and also the intake ?
@OFFAxisBuilds2 жыл бұрын
I used carb cleaner and a rag.
@davidbrucemusicvideo6 жыл бұрын
Great video, but what vehicle? Also, did you have to use a torch to heat up the bolts so that they would loosen when you took off the exhaust manifold?
@ozoneswiftak2 жыл бұрын
Not sure about those coated gaskets with holes in them. They are not oem
@OFFAxisBuilds2 жыл бұрын
Actually oem was metal to metal on my jeep. Go figure. I’m dot sure what engineer designed that idea. This is the second set of gaskets I have put on this jeep.
@colin50642 жыл бұрын
Please stop saying carburettor, you are talking about a fuel injected 2.5 jeep. The item you are describing is a throttle body, not a carburettor. This throttle body only delivers the air to the engine cylinders, not any fuel
@OFFAxisBuilds2 жыл бұрын
Yes you are right at the time that’s what I said.
@jasonrock2905 жыл бұрын
Fuel rail? carburetor? I think it is injected
@OFFAxisBuilds5 жыл бұрын
Jason Rock Yes it’s fuel injected, and yes there is a fuel rail. I think I miss spoke when I said carburetor. Thanks for catching that. Someone got to keep me honest.

carb or throttle body i think i see fuel rail and injectors
@OFFAxisBuilds7 жыл бұрын
+betty herndon Yes it’s the 4 cylinder. It is a throttle body. I’m so used to saying carb I guess I made a mistake. Thanks for letting me know.
@natewhitbey46154 жыл бұрын
Definitely not a carb.
@OFFAxisBuilds4 жыл бұрын
Nate Whitbey yea I know it’s fuel injected. It’s a throttle body. I said the wrong thing in the video. Thanks for checking it out.

How long did you drive with the exhaust leak
@OFFAxisBuilds6 жыл бұрын
707Kidd garage Not really sure how long I drove with the bad manifold gasket. The jeep has always had a slight tick, but I noticed it got louder. I I had to make a educated guess I would say about 3 months.

I’ve been driving with my exhaust leak since I bought my truck in July and it is now mid February. Gonna change that tomorrow lol
@mlss54135 жыл бұрын
I've had my truck for about 6 yrs......the manifold gasket has been leaking the whole time. Not really a leak, pieces of the gasket is sticking out the top lol
@OFFAxisBuilds5 жыл бұрын
You must live in a state that doesn’t require a smog on your vehicles. Mine didn’t pass smog in CA. That’s why I replaced it.
@mlss54135 жыл бұрын
@@OFFAxisBuilds very true....Oklahoma doesnt have any inspections anymore. Heck my truck was wrecked, totaled, and issued a salvaged title before i bought it, but for $700 and 160,000 miles its a damn good truck
@jamescorless8283 Жыл бұрын
Your "carburetor" is a throttle body.
@OFFAxisBuilds Жыл бұрын
Yes I know. I used the wrong term in the video thank you. I’m so used to carbs that’s what I said.
