To be fair politics at this level isn’t forgiving, especially if you don’t have that natural charisma, polish, or sincerity (and no, neither of these candidates do). Beyond what I think of their policies, the impression I get of Sunak is he’s a man who seemingly thrived in the world of investment banking. Not through being exceptionally gifted or anything (actually in many ways he’s rather dim), but mostly through being, at least to his peers ‘a nice chap’. It’s probably how he got into politics. He’s out of his depth here. Starter, despite being an awful public presence lacking in political savviness, seems like he could be legitimately ruthless behind the scenes. I don’t mean this in a positive way.

If "I don't like that man, he looks like a robot" is a compelling factor for voters then we probably have to raise the voting age by about another ten years. Politics is not fun, it defines the rules you live by. Pretending they're all a bunch of robot clones only gives up the say you're owed in that. Read their manifesto - or ChatGPT summarise it ("UK, 2024") - and take it seriously. That's what you can do for yourself and your family.
