0) Figure out physics on your own. 1) Learning Concepts from good books like "Concepts of Physics" by HC Verma. 2) Learn how to take notes AFTER solving problems (refer books like Ultralearning by Scott H Young). 3) Problems to check milestones in Depth of understanding in Fundamentals of Physics by Resnick and Halliday. Get Feedback on Fundamentals of Concepts. 4) Take your time. Struggle with the problem before looking at solutions. 5) Don't neglect other subjects.

I have been following jc sir for a while now, its been 2 years, i am in tears as i write this. My basics were weak in class 9 and 10, i was in the covid batch. Somehow scored a 95 percent in class 10 boards. Class 11 started in the mid of june and ended in 9 months. Concepts were rushed, incomplete. ISC messed me up. I somehow focused on my basics in class 12 and built my basics. I wish i had seen this video 2 years ago. To all the juniors, sir is absolutely right, focus on building your fundamentals.

To be honest, I cried while watching this video. Our batch was the post-pandemic batch. Our Class XI was crammed within 9 months. Our Physics teacher was so... that she literally taught (or rather revised) us Electric Fields and Coulomb's law within a single class of 40 minutes. When she was teaching about the components of vectors, she literally went on to say that she won't be able to explain why sin and cos are applicable for vertical and horizontal components respectively. Our another teacher literally told us that studying numericals is more important than the concept. But he didn't even properly teach the concept first before delving into the numericals. The former teacher LITERALLY told us once not to study from Resnick-Halliday-Walker. I was like, what? Why is she even actively discouraging that book? Two years wasted on Physics. two years wasted. In ISC, we have derivations too, which makes the whole saga of studying Physics even less fun. I have no suggestions though, this... is just my story.

I am also from ISC board buddy. Literally had the same experience, had a shitty Physics teacher and a boring Maths teacher. They ruined my Physics and Maths and cost me a drop year. The physics actively discouraged us from basically doing anything and was always frustrated at us. He didn't even teach us jack! We never knew when what chapter began; He was a total douchebag. The Maths teacher was the most boring guy ever, he had no passion and no desire to fix his students. The 11th grade Maths teacher was amazing tho. Are all 11-12 Science teachers like this?

Even I request a math video. How to go about solving maths. My typical method for jee prep is objective mathematics by Rd Sharma, I solve all illustrations, then move to examples and then to excercise and finally to chapter test. All of this takes so long that it's hard to maintain consistency in practice. I've recently started to focus more on perfecting illustrations and examples rather than working on excercise problems. Sir , please suggest how to solve these problems-solved or unsolved, because I don't want to miss hard questions. I want to develop ability to solve even hard problems without looking at solutions when it takes long time to solve

Maths ke liye ap sabko concept padhne ke baad ziyada se ziyada questions lagane ki koshish karni chahiye aur usme bhi examples aur types ko samjhne ke baad sabse pehle pyqs solve karne chahiye taaki ap ziyada se ziyada relevant type of questions pe focus kar payen. Iske alawa ap cengage publication ki maths ki book refer kar sakte Hain unki book acchi hai. Baaki , problem solving develop karne ke liye Hume questions hi solve karne hote Hain starting Mai isme kaafi time lagta hai par jab dheere-dheere questions solve hone lagte h to questions solve karne ki speed bhi badh jati hai aur Hume maja bhi aata h

I studied that book in passing, decades ago. Having been in engineering industry for few decades now, I can tell you on thing: If anyone thinks that learning new things is race against time and is not originated because of a strong passion for learning, it doesn’t matter how good you learnt it then. Years later you will forget it all. Millions of engineers in industry are like that today. If I can’t find innate passion and curiosity to discover and solve problems, I can’t hire that person. It is said that Pt Bheemsen Joshi’s teacher taught him only 3 ragas over a span of 3 + years. Nowadays teachers teach it in 2~3 weeks. You get the idea. PV Narasimha Rao (former PM) was an expert in 14 different languages. When someone asked him in an interview how he learnt it, his reply was learn one language perfectly. Rest all is easy.

Here are the tips listed in the video on how to study Physics for 10+2: [1:00] Unlearn everything you learned about physics up to class 10. Physics requires a completely new way of thinking. [1:23] Physics is the most difficult subject among Physics, Chemistry and Maths and requires the deepest level of thinking. [1:40] Be honest with yourself. Not everyone can excel in physics, and that's okay. [1:45] Don't rely on guidebooks. Pick one good textbook and learn from it thoroughly. The video recommends Concepts of Physics by HC Verma. [2:10] Develop the habit of making your own notes, but only after you've tried solving problems on your own. [2:37] Don't neglect the "thinking type" of questions in the textbook. These are essential for building a strong conceptual understanding. [2:50] Solve problems on your own before looking at the solutions. Struggle through them, even if it takes a long time. Looking at solutions without trying is a bad habit. [3:10] It's okay if you can't complete all the problems. Focus on what you can do and be sure you understand it. [3:20] Don't neglect your other subjects, especially Chemistry, because Physics is time-consuming. The video mentions the speaker's regret of neglecting Chemistry in 11th grade.

Sir everything you said in this video is absolutely true. But I believe that you missed one point, which might as well be the most important one. - Physics is a subject that CANNOT be truly mastered unless you are actually interested in the subject and take additional steps on your own to delve deeper into topics. Sure you may mug up things and maybe even score well, but you'll never crack real conceptual questions (akin to those asked in JEE advanced). Luckily, physics is also the most intriguing subject on this planet, its the language of our universe. Try putting active effort into this subject, and let the universe open itself to you.

In class 10, I had struggled a lot with fully understanding the concepts, and mostly mugged up the theory, which meant i couldn't answer application based questions. So i went to ask my math teacher, who was actually amazing at physics and he advised me to always ask the question , "why?" , while studying the theory. That simple method cleared up the concepts for me.

Critical Insights given by Sir, especially for chemistry. Neglecting it cost me my selection in the entrance examinations. About physics learning, Sir is right in all ways. One should go at his/her pace rather than matching someone else's because without proper understanding and grasping of concepts, it would be a disaster. Every one's brain frequency is at a different level. What one may grasp within seconds others might take several minutes to absorb. One might skip two steps in solving a problem but others might to write down all the steps to arrive at the solution.

I did my inter a very long time ago And physics was my fav. When I was in 11 - 12 we didnt have any homework as we were in 'College' not a school.any more ! That was a blessing. Nowadays students rush thru assignments , no space to sit on a problem till you got the solution on your own . One tip is to make an image of the problem situation in your mind and and manipulate the aspects mentally Here it will be useful to imagine the sizes and scales comfortable for you. A cricke ball sized small particles for example. Thinking about them is so much easier. Mentally picture as graphs and figures. And remember your plane geom concepts from 8 to 10th Very important. All the more in optics. Carry the problem in your head, not just during your study time or when the book is in front of you. Try to tackle the problem as far as possible in your head. Newton is still the basis of physics.

This is a very nice guide and I am perhaps the same generation or half a generation older than the respected professor (but certainly not wiser). Completely agree with all of this. However, having worked as an Engineer for two decades and dealing with graduate entrants I see a radical shift in the way the next generation thinks and grasps new concepts. We should take into account the exposure and evolution of learning tools that the current generation of students have grown up with.

First of all, best regards sir! I am from humanities background having no idea about the intricacy of physics. But the best thing is that the tips you have shared is equally important and applicable for all other subjects as well. Got a great insight, thank you♥️🙏

Yeah +2 physics is significantly harder than what comes before. But being able to see what you learn in real life really helps. There was no KZbin when I was in school (how I wish Sixty Symbols existed when I was a kid), but the motivating examples from Halliday, Resnick & Walker's physics book, at the start of each chapter, really helped keep the interest up and push through the maths in order to find the answer to the example. As a guitarist, the one about Jimmy Hendrix's guitar pick-up was my favorite while the first chapter example about calculating the earth's circumference by measuring the time difference between two sun sets (when you lie down and when you stand up) was mind blowing :-)

which youtube channels are best for teaching physics which you think could be useful for sdmebody prepping for IIT JEE?
@ashwith
@ashwith 6 ай бұрын
@@counterpoint9260 Sixty Symbols, Veritasium, Smarter Everyday. This isn't for JEE prep itself (I didn't clear JEE so I don't have any useful advice here), but to understand Physics and also get a sense of wonder about the subject. That attitude helps you push through whe the subject gets difficult or dry.

Sir it is a humble request that you please make a same kind of a video for maths, because most of the JEE aspirants struggle in maths. So, kindly enlighten us about how to study maths at a level at which we can efficiently solve complex JEE ADV. problems. It is a heartfelt request...

Working with multiple applications and deriving new cases is the best way to study physics in a deep manner. If you cannot list a considerable amount of applications for a particular concept then you are illusioned with your grasp of that topic. This learning method is also called- DERIVED LEARNING or OTBT LEARNING.

I did A-level Physics in 1971-73 (I believe this is equivalent to class 10+2 on the subcontinent - correct me if there is an error in this understanding). I was a diligent student and worked as an individual with the text book until I grasped the principles. The class lessons were not that great but I did like the weekly experimental work. I am retired now (following my career in Aviation / Aerospace engineering) but the point I want to make is that I can still recall and generate formulae from first principles. The order of A-level difficulty that I found was 1) Applied Maths 2) Physics and 3) the easiest if there is such a thing, was the Pure Maths A-level.

HC Verma was relevant before he started trying to deduce the age of ram and the time ramayana took place. What a fall from grace for a physicist who's supposed to think critically.

You have very correctly told about the manner and ways to study physics. As for the students the methods apply equally to other subjects also. Resnick Halliday is by far the best for concepts. H C Verma is the similar and simplified version with all concepts explained very well. You all must solve all exercise questions yourself only and take time to solve dissecting the questions.

*Study the Textbook* best advice imho. As one comment already mentioned that physics cannot be fully understood unless you have great interest in the subject matter, studying the textbook provides a gateway onto exploring the true world of physics.

He taught us how to actually study the subject which was taught to us in the wrong way by our teachers. Respectfully please don't judge the video if you haven't even watched it

I think everyone can study physics, I actually got only 82% in 10th boards cbse. Iam now at 12 and I understand both Lagrange and Hamiltonian mechanics. I studied mechanics from NPTEL, Lenny Susskind, David Tong notes, Polyakov lectures on classical mechanics and nearly finishing Landau's Mechanics ie vol 1. Iam happy at who Iam 😊hoping to be a physicst one day
