How tall is Jeff Cavaliere? How much does he weigh? If you believe some of the guesses online you’d think it was anywhere from 5’6 to 5’8 with a weight of 200 to 250 pounds. The truth couldn’t be any further from those stats.

In this fitness motivation video I show you why relying on other peoples stats or more importantly, other peoples results instead of an innate drive to improve yourself is a recipe for failure. Looking in the mirror every day and not liking what you see staring back at you should be enough motivation to change your habits. It’s great to look to others for inspiration. Growing up I found inspiration in Sylvester Stallone, and Arnold Schwarzenegger but I recognized only one of them was somewhat realistic in terms of what I could achieve. But that didn’t mean I couldn’t learn from the other. Dedication, work ethic, were just some of the qualities that I’ve taken from my hero of the past.
If you want to change your body you must realize that it is going to take work and while only you can do it, it’s also important to realize your results are going to be different from everyone else’s. It’s not complicated but that doesn’t make it easy. That said, starting on your goals is the most important (and the only thing) you can do today. You have no control over the actions of others but you can use their success and the lessons they offer to better yourself. Wether its Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Thor Bjornsson, or some that super fit person at your local gym. Learn what you can from them and be inspired by their success but be careful not to measure your success by the success of others.
If you’re interested in letting me coach you to your best shape ever, be sure to head to athleanx.com and get the ATHLEAN-X Training System or check out my brand new Total Body Split Training Program ‘Total Beaxst’. Let this be your wake up call to changing the direction you’re headed to the direction you should have been in for years.

When I was OTR I got great results with kettle bells and gymnastic rings. Used properly these will take care of literally everything. Takes up hardly any space and you can set up anywhere (hang the rings from tree branches etc). I can not recommend it enough. Right now I'm considering canceling my gym membership and going back to that. I remember working out in my empty trailer during rainstorms and powering through my workouts in the winter, even going so far as to bring a kettle bell into the private shower bathroom at the truckstop lol. After a while I was fitter than when I started driving. It does not have to be an unhealthy life. Hours of service has you driving 10 hrs max, with the rest of the time keep it moving. Eat well, start and end every day with walking and stretching, take breaks every few hours, and regularly workout for real.

I've always believed that when I'm at the gym, my focus should be on balanced aesthetics. Why? Because there will always be someone at the gym with bigger arms, or chest, or legs, or calves. However almost no one lifts for balanced aesthetics. And most have the same flaws, because they tend not to build the muscles that need the most work to develop (legs, lats, chest). So it was so much easier for me to not be drawn into comparisons with others. Because at least in my gym, there wasn't a single balanced physique to be had. No one was trying to accomplish what I was. So the only person I really needed to compare myself to was me. Month to month. Year to year. Now I'm pretty much exactly where I want to be, and I still pay no mind to anyone else's physique where I lift.

What I like about the old style guys is that they do a lot more coverage of injuries and how to avoid them ... I think this needs to be taught more right from the get go. If you learn the correct techniques and warm-up disciplines right from the start you don't have to unlearn a bad habit. I would like to know of a good supplement regime for building and maintaining muscle and also losing fat ... especially that last 25% of stubborn fat ... love handles and belly fat.
