Here is another subscriber Breakdown recommendation on Jeff George. Very interesting selection but there is some great stuff to take from him. Initially, we'll talk about how well his external rotation is and how that affects the throw. Hope you all enjoy and keep the video recommendations coming!

The biggest advantage Jeff George has over everyone else isnt easily noticed.... The way he effortlessly threw lasers hasnt even came close to be paralleled, he could throw 65 yd passes with only 18ft of ground clearance lol

I appreciate this because we often say that George had “a big arm,” but the truth is that a lot of his throwing power came from the relatively small, quick movements of his elbow and wrist. Your breakdown shows how his arm muscles, tendons, and ligaments were extremely flexible, like a slingshot. One quick flick and BOOM. Sixty yard bomb.

More so George was able to put all of this together in order to throw the ball with distance and accuracy.

Not one of my favorite quarterbacks at all but he did have a good arm. Here's the game I remember him best for. He was a backup in MN for Randall Cunningham. Randall was taking sacks and wasn't completing many passes. George came in and was able to get the ball out so much faster. Helped that he was throwing to Randy Moss & Chris Carter but the guy was really effective because of his quicker release. Great vid.

Good arm? The best arm in NFL history. Dude threw a pass into the wind vs the Jets that went 70 yards in the air. I’ve seen him throw 55 bullets that never flew over ten yards off the field.

I remember that. For some reason Cunningham lost confidence and was holding onto the ball longer. George came in and just brought the offense to life. Then I remember he wanted a big contract and the Vikings said tough luck

😊I think he was with the Vikings. Standing at the 40, couldn't step into the throw due to pressure, hit a WR on the goal line, it was a frozen rope. I was like, did I just see that. ? The criticism he got during career, in the back half there was talk he wasn't a natural leader. There was some sort of 30 or 60 or 90 min story on him years ago after he was done playing. Really enjoyed it. Showed his personality. Maybe he was a little misunderstood or excessively critiqued during his career like a lot of players. He just tried to play football the best he could.😊 wonder if it's on the tube

What is really interesting is the finger/grip placement he had on the ball. I always thought it was cheating if you didn't use the classic Montana/Young/Marino grip because I could always get a tighter spiral and a bit more velocity from JG's grip.

Man....What Jeff George could've been if he had the proper "football" personality. Mechanically, he's what you want. Plant n POW....the ball is gone. Phill Simms has a similar motion, but a tad slower. Simms accuracy was at least 5 to 7 points higher. Simply because George never liked to check down. For you youngsters, there is a time to check down, a time to go deep, but mainly what will seperate like Jeff George and Phil Simms is the ability to "throw your reciever open". I hope you do a video about "throwing a reciever open". That ability can be learned, but of a QB has that naturally.....ala (Dan Marino, Bradshaw, Fouts, Unitas, Brady, Montana, Moon) then the sky is definitely the limit. Good Videos! Love the hard core football talk.

Not just because I’m from Indianapolis and am 51 so I was in middle school when he was in high school at Warren Central but, Jeff George has my favorite QB throwing motion. I see the comparison to Josh Allen but another great passer of the football comes to mind, Sony Jergunsen(hope I spelled his last name correctly). Sonny and Jeff have the same “ skipping or slinging a rock on water” throwing motion.

The biomechanics and dynamics are very powerful - no doubt - but don’t you think he also gets a lot of power through the ‘plane’ that he swings on (extremely rounded) which gives him the ‘power of a circle’ to enhance his power??? Angular momentum I suppose? Anyway, I’m not a quarterback coach (I’m a golf swing biomechanics coach) so I always can relate to your terminology and teachings very well because that’s how we build golf swings. However, the plane a player swings on greatly affects the speed a player can create just by swinging more rounded or flatter than a more linear or upright swings can produce. So when I see JG, I not only see the powerful dynamics you’re talking about but the power from his circular arch he creates as well. I use to think he had a sidearm delivery but after rewatching these videos, it looks like he’s just whipping his arm on a more horizontal plane than normal and is simply getting more out of his dynamics because the angular momentum it’s creating?!?! Anyway, really good stuff - I truly enjoy all your videos. Remarkable job guys!!!
