One of the best to ever do it. If you get a chance to see Jeff live please go and enjoy.

My man the one and only Jeff Lorber and Company! I love this man since 1979!

Me too! I had all the vinyls from the early days when Joe Farril, Freddie Hubbard and Chick were guests on the records. In fact, I've got them all now digitally and seen pretty much all of the YT live shows, over and over and over.... I love Jeff.

Been listening since when Kenny G Played with him. Dude is the master of Jazz Funk. Great for guitar players who want to learn this kinda of music. You can literally hear yourself all the time. Warts and all. You either get funky or die on the vine in real time.

I was just going to say I started watching Jeff before Kenny Gorelick became “Kenny G”. Always a monster player.

Kenny Gs first album from 1982 is considered a smooth jazz album. But already the year after he aimed for more commercial pop songs going forward.

Note that Jimmy Haslip is lefthanded and learned to play bass on a guitar strung for a right hander so the strings are backwards for a left handed player! Brilliant!
@mikeh663 ай бұрын
I'm left handed. Not all left handed bass guitars are backwards. They are mirror images of right handed. The strings align.

Look at the entry for Jazz Funk in Wikipedia and Jeff Lorber is not even mentioned. A disgrace.

Great music but every time I watch Mr Lorber playing I get a pain in my neck. He needs me as his chiropractor.
