Interesting, I got the complete opposite impression from this interview. Sitting indoors with sunglasses for starters, haha! And when they ask him about his productions he goes on about how special his process is and that he has a totally unique sound. I agree that he is extremely talented but I thought he sounded quite full of himself with that answer. There is nothing unique with his sound, his songs are bloody great but they're just pop songs, man. :)

Sunny Bear - I hope you've learned a thing or two since you bravely posted your comment. As you know (?) he prefers using sunglasses (dark glasses) because he's shy. I missed the bit where he's "full of himself". Please, enlighten me

In a profession where mediocrity and style are celebrated over substance, this man is woefully overlooked. The UK bangs about Macca, Bowie and Morissey, all of whom are great, but nobody bangs the drum for Jeff - except his fellow performers. If you take record sales and awards he is something like the fourth most successful producer of all time - and that is against some stiff competition.For some reason people cannot see past his hair and shades. Get over it, he's a genius.

The bits with Jeff have been collected into the 9 minutes you have here. I also found sheet music at some music thing. Picked out 2. The piece I'm working on is actually vinnies A STARRY NIGHT kinda with MR BLUE SKY over it with sky line up the side. I thought cutting up sheet music 2 like make the edge. Around. I have made mistakes in it though. The big one though since I did not rush it, is ready 4 glitter paper my daughter bro u ght yesterday. Only reasons I do not have my foam core cut. My left arm my right leg. I have 2 cut 9 pieces. Need many more plexi cut. I got good start. Large Beatles piece done. 20x30. Accent so flipping cute. Big elo piece 40 x 30 or something like that. Idk . My cats apparently want food & water.

Performance royalties. He redid them so that when someone wants to license one of the songs, HE gets all the loot. The new versions sound flatter than the originals. For me anyway.
@kingstumble
@kingstumble 4 жыл бұрын
You don't understand royalties at all. The writer and publisher get royalties whenever their song is played in a public place no matter who performs it, even if it's a karaoke singer. The performer on a record or film, if it's someone other than the writer, is paid a performance royalty but it's a lot less . It's immaterial which version is used. I used to work for PRS so I do know how it works.
@joeturner6192

@@kingstumble So then there's no such thing as a performance royalty? I must be misinformed. Or not.

@@joeturner6192 Yes there is. Read what I said: "The performer......is paid a performance royalty...…."
@joeturner6192
@joeturner6192 4 жыл бұрын
@@kingstumble So if someone uses the original Mr Blue Sky, then seven people get paid for their performance. But if they use his remake, then only he gets paid for the performance. That's my point.
@kingstumble
@kingstumble 4 жыл бұрын
@@joeturner6192 No I don't understand your point. It makes no difference which version is played. A new version or remake does not constitute a new song.It is the same song and anyone who is entitled to receive royalties will get them no matter which version is played. I don't know where you get seven people from. Royalties are only paid to the writer, the publisher and the performer. However if you don't want to believe me and carry on with this pointless discussion that's up to you.That is my final comment.
