Whomever wrote the orchestration is a genius. Those Am/G string arpeggios are fantastic.
@denisej48133 ай бұрын
I'm not sure who orchestrated this particular version, but it certainly owes a lot to the orchestration by the late Louis Clark of the original album tracks on the Eldorado album, realised back in 1974. Louis Clark worked closely with Jeff Lynne, and also worked on the 1980's Hooked on Classics series of albums with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Celebrate Legends while they are still alive. The great Jeff Lynne (ELO) has a new album since November of 2019. Please, Jeff Lynne's ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA Tour in 2020! From 1972 to 1986 Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra has had more top 40 hits than any other group in the world. 50 years later they still play in sold-out Arenas and Stadiums. I just saw them last Summer of 2019 on the US and Canada Tour...( Best Concert of my life) All the reviews agreed they are the best live act in the world and Jeff Lynne is a Music Genius. They are in the Rock Hall of Fame. Lynne is on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and Birmingham Walk OF Fame. Jeff Lynne’s ELO won the Best Classic Rock Band plus Lynne won the best Song Writer award ( ASCAP ) 2019 for his fantastic contribution over the years. The Legends in the Music Industry call Jeff Lynne the best overall Musician ever and a Producer Extraordinaire. Long live Jeff Lynne’s ELO! P.S. Jeff Lynne Produced the Beatles, Tom Petty, Roy Oberson, Brian Wilson, Bryan Adams and so many other Legends...What an incredible talent! 1

There wouldn't have been an Electric Light Orchestra without Roy Wood, the idea of a rock band with it's own self-contained string section was Woody's brainchild in 1968 when he was in The Move and Jeff Lynne was in The Idle Race, Roy even came up with the name of the band. Too many people forget about Roy Wood's contribution to ELO, Roy's hit singles with The Move financed the earliest days of ELO from the first recording of 10538 Overture by The Move in July 1970 until Wood's untimely departure from ELO in June 1972. Jeff Lynne built ELO into one of the biggest bands of the 1970's, but Roy Wood laid the foundations that the band was built on.

Oh a band I fell in love with soo long ago. ELO was truely a Light Orchestra, that was Electric. The blending of Classical Music and Rock was done before, but ELO did so without being pretentious staying complex, beautiful and fun. I love, absolutely love the progressive rock of the 70s but ELO was different than all of those other prog rock bands. Not entirely pop music, not entirely super serious progress rock, just an excellent blend of both.

Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra from The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame site: "Picking up where the Beatles left off, ELO expanded the concept of great melodies, epic song structures and grand orchestrations. ELO added an exciting mix of elements into rock and roll, including disco rhythms and electronic studio wizardry. Imagine a marriage of tuneful, rocking pop songs with instruments from the symphonic realm, and you’ve got the blueprint for what made ELO one of the most popular groups of the 1970s and beyond. Jeff Lynne, ELO’s vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, co-founder, and frontman, conceived of a rarefied musical sphere in which cellos coexisted with guitars, and where classically tinged progressive rock intersected with hook-filled, radio-friendly pop. The result: ELO’s boundary-breaking approach to rock that resonated with a global audience, both as a pop singles act and as album-oriented rockers with deep-track appeal".

Instead of the privileged picks of an audience, there should be children and proper musicians in that audience. Those clapping were told to by prompt boards then would be looking forward to champers and canapes afterwards (which is why they were paid to be there butdon't know what they were listening too, or clapping about).
