I agree...I never thought about it that way, but the joke could be looked at not like an insult, per se. But she (and Will) took it that way. I think what isn’t pointed out enough is the fact that she doesn’t have alopecia. She has a shaved head. Jeff Ross knows the difference and everyone that has alopecia knows the difference. She originally claimed a linear bald line on top of her head was from her alopecia, when it’s actually a scar from a brow lift. She likes to wear her hair short. She has almost always had close cropped hair for her entire career. She is not bald from alopecia, she chooses to shave her head. For an example of a black woman with alopecia who chooses to shave her hair is congresswoman Ayanna Pressley. Alopecia isn’t a buzz cut. It’s clean bald spots.

The thing about condemning or forgiving Will Smith. Logically I want to get past it and go back to thoroughly enjoying his films and the man himself. I don’t want to hold any lingering grudge but it was more than him slapping Rock. He went onto that stage, in front of millions of viewers and assaulted someone. It stunned me and shook me. I can’t imagine how viewers who were survivors of domestic abuse felt when that happened without warning. The pain on Chris’s face was both physical and emotional. But it didn’t end there. The show limped on but the magic was lost. Will had the gall to accept an award and give a magnanimous speech with morons clapping around him. It completely overshadowed other winner’s celebrations. The whole thing sickened me. That is the reason I cannot and may not ever be able to watch Will Smith act again.

Think about what he was screaming when he sat back down, and what’s really in the blank: “Keep my wife’s ______ out your f***ing mouth.” This rage was not about his wife’s name and it was about somebody else’s mouth. And it’s impotent rage, when immediately after smacking the person who supposedly offended your wife right across the face, you are still out of control screaming at the top of your lungs. Nobody who saw this terrifying vision of a man nakedly displaying his humiliation to the entire world, can ever forget it.

We all thought she had shaved her head as a fashion statement. The whole world didn't know. She looked great. AND G.I. Jane is like what Demi Moore did. After the fact, man Jada and Will not curry favor for a long time.

The other little thing no one talks about: presenter's making fun of audience members means you're part of the "IT" crowd. To me...It's far more of an insult to jab Will and not Jada. Throwing her a joke was a kindness...and you should be able to attack the beauty of just about any woman of Hollywood at an award show like that, they're all 10/10...lol, it's like mocking Heisman candidates for being slow...the entire point of choosing Demi Moore in that movie was the defense secretary (?) wanting a better looking woman "on the cover of time magazine" Rant over.

I came on here because of Jeff. I'm watching NATIONAL SECURITY movie and I'm like is that the X-Files guy lol. Then I Googled him and was like who's that bald guy. Then I Googled why is Jeff bald and it said alopecia. And then I found this video. See I would've thought well that's normal. But anyways. I'm glad he's healthy and I'm healthy too

It's funny how Dave Chappelle has a joke about this situation in one of his previous jokes: The guy holding everyone hostage on the bus. The whole Chris Rock thing was Chris Rock being on the lucky side of Cancel Culture. It was along the lines of "These dummies saw that one person stood up, so everyone else started chiming in."

so then......you decided to chime in. OK!

@A Yoga Diary , I had the same sentiments. The world made it about her alopecia. They haven't said a thing. I personally don't think that was it because if she was sensitive about it, she wouldn't have shown it off so fabulously! She cut it for that night vs wearing a wig... who thinks it bothers you if you put it out front?

I'm pretty sure that dude who tried to assault Dave Chappelle would have done it regardless of the Will Smith Chris Rock incident. That dude was nuts and tried to stab Chappelle. It's a completely different scenario, but it's easy to assume one led to the other.

Jada smith went to the Oscar’s with her bald head. Basically saying “I am not ashamed”. Nobody cared. She looked amazing. IF she went with a wig, and Chris had pulled it off, well, that had been an offensive act. You are a Hollywood superstar, you sit at the front row, you want and need the attention. For Gods sake, US hold roasts, which are considered an honor to be at the center of
