Saved one of these from the scrap yard. It has the identical problem. Very helpful video. Thanks very much.

Hello Leon... Nice 150.. in pretty good shape as well.. The 150 is one of my favorite Homelite saws because of the platform and it's a piston port, no reed valves means less can go wrong. Thank for the video, Hope all is well !!

I didn't know that I never had one apart I think my blue one needs a piston, and cylinder

@@treebender261 Hey Tom.. As far as I know the 150 is the only piston port saw Homelite ever made but don't quote me on that. They are a piece of cake to work on and the only difficult thing is when putting it back together trying to hook up the throttle linkage. Other than that it really is a sweet saw and well balanced too.. You can find all kinds of parts for them.. Leon has a good selection as well as Ebay... PS.. Leon has a tear down and reassemble video that is very helpful !! Good luck..

@@treebender261 well it seems as if you know what you're doing... Good for you brother.. I also have many different saws but mostly all Homelite restorations. Currently in the process of restoring a 1974 Super EZ auto.. Just finished the powder coating on all the metal and almost ready for reassembly.. Take care and have fun with your projects !!

I just came across your channel. I own a 150 with the red case with a 16"" sprocket bar, made around 1980 and I use it all the time!

How on earth did you wind that thing back up? I have one I need to reassemble and I have no idea how to do that voodoo.

Never really took much notice of the 150s . Was given one a couple weeks ago. That has now peaked my curiosity quite a bit. And one of my sons has mentioned that he thought it would be cool to cut with. Not running yet, but she popped on prime. Probably a good starting point for a saw project. Have a lead on a small pile of parts to get started. Another interesting old Homelite...
