The real problem is this: The players in the WNBA are the most entitled, unreasonable and delusional of athletes, together with women's soccer's. The best female tennis player had no problem in admitting she would lose in straight sets and in minutes to Andy Murray. That's Serena Williams. Ronda Rousey herself stated several times, all jokes and PR stunts aside, she could never defeat a professional male fighter. 2 XY fighters dominated women's boxing in the 2024 Olympics. Why do we entertain people like A'ja or Griner? It takes exceptional talent and physicality to triumph in the NBA if you're below 1.90m tall. Steph, Trae and Damian arev all between 1.88m and 1.85m, and their main asset is shooting deep and passing, none of which A'ja excels at. Plus, they're FAR QUICKER and jump FAR HIGHER than her, so how would she even dream of not being at the bottom of the lower half of players in the NBA?

I used to play football in college....our football team played our women's basketball team we played with them and won easily...we were just way to athletic and explosive...even their height and better skill made no difference....they were just too slow and we jumped way higher...Aja would get destroyed by any NBA player and most male college players regardless of the division
@Tylaw20062 күн бұрын
The problem is most women and some men aren’t satisfied with women doing great in their own game. They always want to compare them to men. There are probably even male players who would keep the game close, just so the women can feel good about themselves.

Women aren't banned from any male sports. There isn't one rule that says they can't play. That is a fact. They just can't keep up physically, so they stay out and make their own leagues. This shit is crazy to even talk about. Women want to men so bad it's ridiculous
@Christopher06322 күн бұрын
A’ja Wilson is 195 lbs. Most NBA players easily bench 225+ lbs. There’s no WNBA player benching 225 lbs. This idea that they believe they can somehow overpower an extremely athletic and strong NBA player is so absurd it’s laughable.

Its not an argument though. Its a delusion. Other women athletes know, and have expressed that they understand the difference between men and women. Serena Williams when asked about this said if she played one of the middle ranked dudes in tennis, she would basically lose as quick as you possibly can. Serena needs to have a Ted Talk with the WNBA. I don't think their league can flourish until you get rid of this delusion.

I completely agree that she will not be at a top highschool male. The problem I have is when Caitlyn Clark was hyped up that she can play in the NBA and is better than some NBA players, you guys went for that nonsense. Caitlyn Clark is no where near A'ja Wilson in terms of basketball skills.

@Grayghost-ch1dx A'ja has a 3-point game, mid-range game, back to the basket game, take you off the dribble game and exceptional defensive game. I used to play at Run n Shoot in Atlanta back in the day. I played with a few high level women. One was a 5'8 guard named Niesha Butler from New York. She was at Georgia Tech at the time. To be fair, this was after an ACL injury and she was trying to regain form. She could do some moves against guys her size to some degree. And if no shot blockers came to help she could make some shots. But generally she could only make shots when open. And if anyone was physical with her she really struggled. And she was the All Time NY State HS Scorer at the time. More points that Lew Alcindor or Kenny Anderson. I think Sebastian Telfair broke her record. Also played against Keisha Brown who played at UGA and later the Mystics. She was another one who was a walking bucket but destroyed her knee. She was 5'10. I remember guarding her a couple of times. She couldn't get a shot up for the most part. She really wouldn't even try. I'm 6'3 and was 190-195 in those days. Quick, Long Arms and Strong. And when I had the ball I could do whatever I wanted. Women just don't have enough strength, quickness, lift, body control and so on to deal with even a good high schooler. I could take a Mac McClung in HS and plop him in a WNBA game, and he'd be the MVP of that game. Totally unguardable and the best defender on the court

Me and 4 other guys that did not play varsity basketball beat the 5 freshman women's basketball players at the University of Illinois something like 15-5 going by 1s 20 years ago. We were all in the dorms together, snuck into a gym late. Their coach would have been mad had she found out. They thought they would beat us, and i thought they might too. Ends up guys are just more athletic. We did have to play though, not 100%, but like 95%. They were still girls afterall, and our friends.

I think it’s fascinating culturally to see Cheryl talk then A’Ja. I like A’ja and I don’t think she did too much wrong here, but I think Cheryl’s approach is all about class and grace. If you pay attention, her story shows that Cheryl still had the skills, but Reggie out passed her physically. There’s something very graceful about accepting that, it actually gives Cheryl power imo. Reggie isn’t better than her per se, but the physical attributes make their competition an uneven playing field. Today, people want to ignore the facts and just go on the ego. A’ja could’ve said “of course you’d beat me Josh, you’re bigger and stronger- but let’s play horse and I bet my shots smoother than yours.” Or whatever. But no they have to try and compete with the men instead of slotting into a complementary spot alongside them. However, can’t deny that A’ja is infinitely less toxic and more good natured about this than others who have discussed this dynamic previously, like that ESPN talking head or the former Russian prisoner.
