Thanks for the review I recently bought a Jeff White knife and fell in love with it and picked two more from him on ebay. I have been eyeing this Knife and after seeing the review I think I will pick up this Knife too. Great value for the money.

FYI, I subbed to your channel because consistent knife testing is concise, succinct and relevant to me as a consumer and knife user! Keep up professionalism brother! 1095 is great steel, I own several JW knives, all razor sharp and hold edge.

nice blade! I completely agree about the handle, round is better, and a good spear tip is my favorite kind of tip on a knife. My favorite handle ever is the Kabar usmc and the beckers are a close second. Thanks-Ted

I just picked up a Jeff White Bush HD which I preferred over this one. I looked at several knives while at the Self Reliance retail store and settled on this one. Overall, I can't believe these knives are at the price point they are. IMO, they are just as good as some that are 2x or 3x the price.

I own a few of his knives. 1095 hold a great edge, but brittle. They chip so extra care is required as I'm sure you know.

Wow, Jeff White makes some fine blades, I'm going to have to save up for that one. Thanks for the review.

I've been trying to get a SOSPES knife for a few years now! I guess LT is no longer making these most awesome Tarzan-type knives anymore, which is a real knife industry shame, in my opinion! People that are hopeful of purchasing a SOSPES need to let LT know it, and maybe he'll bring this beauty back into production for his fans. Just looking at a SOSPES knife makes me feel like knife fighting an alligator! ( I REALLY NEED A SOSPES!)

Nice knife. Its looks like a good overall camp knife . Handle choices should vary depending on gloves if you wear any .also on climate .it dont like smooth handles if they are wet . Most knives baton well especially with a convex edge. knibes will almost never break in soft and or green woods excluding knots . Stick tangs will baton also in soft wood and will not break if not abused which is easy to avoid . It cracks me up when people use pine 2x4s to explain a knifes strength . When you baton oak wood at -10 and lower degrees almost everything will break if the blade is less than a 1/4 inch thick .

Say Heah William, kewl knife, I have the Jeff White's French Trade Belt Knife, the handle is a similar design to your's, but my wood on my knife is the Orange Osage, I think that's the wood, but it has that nostalgic Frontiersman look to it, I like mine, and I got a large slip in sheath for Bark River Knives from Jason at DLT Trading, it fits good, and I neck carry it, Thanx for sharing your knife, it's a great looking knife, if you have any more Jeff White Knives, please show us.
@paulie4x16 жыл бұрын
Say Heah Will, Yeah, I like my knives and I have a few. I have different manufactures making different handles. Yup I also have a Jeff White French Trade Knife in a Orange Osage, and Yup their 1095, so I have a good idea of what I like. First of all, I like a choil. But I don't like round handles that feel like a sausage in your hand. A radius square handle is good instead of round. But recently I combined William Collins handle and had it made for me, it came out great, Infact on both knives he just made me. He also allowed me to name mine. Paul'ies Delight is a combination of a Dual Grind Larger Knife, I chop and remove bark with it, It's my main carry when shelter building. The Smaller Paul'ies Pride is a great Bushcraft Knife with a Curved Belly that's a slicer, yet robust enough to use as a Survival Bushcraft Knife. Infact I posted both on my Google Plus, Lemme know what you think, Ok. Dilly, Dilly.,,.p

Say Heah Will, I myslf like my pommel's flaired with a sliggt palm swell. I like more flat than round for I feel I can control better with flayter sides than round. But I also like a trailing tip if I know I'll be working wood. I usually like knives a little longer around the 5" mark, But there are exceotion's. I like to neck carry my 3V Skookum Bush Tool and Trio it with either my 2Hawks Double Bit. Hatchet or my Warbrast Tomahawk and Saw ofcource. My Bravo 1 is another shorter blade I like, I like to Trio it with my 17" Hultafors Bruks Agdor Hatchet plus saw. But I do have a J. W French Trade Knife and for it's weight, I like to nevk carry it even though it reaches out to 5"+. But I still neck carry it plus I add larger knives when I use my Jeff White.,,.

I like my knives too, and I have a few, but the knife company that impressed me is the Swamp Rat Knife Works, a sister company of the Famous Busse Combat, the Busse's are made in the INFI Steel, the Swamp Rat's are made in the SR101, which is a Deferentially Tempered Ballbearing Steel, great stuff, I have the Ratmandu, both in INFI, and SR101, I Have a nice collection of the Swampies, in the small, medium, large sizes, they preform excellent, if you haven't tried a Swampie, go for it, you won't regret it, for thevmoney, in my opinion, their the best for the buck, I have a couple of set's of Swamp Rat's, and I'm waiting on my Rodent 6, and the Rodent 4, and the Rodent Rucki, both the Rodent 6, and my Rucki, were customized, that a advantage of dealing with a semi custom company, the Rodent 6, I had the top gaurd taken off, it now look's like a beefy Ratmandu on steriods, and my Rucki will have a Waki tip on it, and I also had it thinned down, since I will be using that bad boy for the bush, just a little F.Y.I. I know, you doing your video's, and work, it's tuff to, research, work, do, so I just thought I might suggest a great company, and suggest my knives, we do have similar taste, so I think you would enjoy them, good job on your video's, keep them coming, I like them.

I never have understood why so many call knives like that a Kephart. He said less than five inches, and a blade that only one inch wide, and an eighth of an inch thick. He was extremely specific about this, and said a longer or wider or thicker blade was simply no good. If you love a knife, that's great, but that is not a Kephart style knife in any way.

@christianc86759 жыл бұрын
Kozmonaut_Wulf Its a style of knife designed by Horace Kephart.

Edit: This knife seems to still be for sale at a reasonable price. They now call it a butcher knife. Would work well for that or about anything else. The total cost of this blade added to the sheath added to shipping made me flinch but I don't regret buying it. Check around and you may find it for less... Edit: It is slowly sinking in that about all most campers need a knife for is as a splitting wedge. They don't hunt, fish, or do bush-craft but if that's all you want this is a much better knife than you need and to me you need at least a seven inch blade and a point is pretty much redundant.Y'all have fun now.
