Great knives at a great price. Very difficult to beat how much knife you get for your buck. I was up to eight at one point. Traded and gifted away several and kept my favorite three. He has a couple of apprentices out there still making the style. There are still a couple sellers on ebay selling his stock at reasonable prices.

I didn't know he was no longer making knives. I've been wanted one of his Thumb Skinner knives. I guess I better hunt one down before they get even harder to find.

That's a beautiful collection, Kevin. - droolworthy. Thanks for sharing the information about Jeff White. I've been coveting that curly maple Kephart knife ever since you showed it in a previous video. I'm gonna bite the bullet and get one, since there will likely never be any more.

Just pulled the trigger on the last of his currently available Kepharts on eBay. Curly maple handles. I think that was the one you have in the Pathfinder sheath with the ferro rod. I don't think it's as artful looking as the Bush 1, but I wanted something that could baton and your comments about feeling totally confident in the woods with just that and a ferro rod finally swayed me. I'm retired and it was a rather large expenditure for me. It will be my first hand-made/custom knife.

It's too bad that Jeff will probably never be back in his shop making knives. To me, his knives have always been like the Old Hickory knives but with 2 or 3 steps upward in utility and beauty. I'm glad that I have my three. Buy 'em while they still have some!

I had no idea Jeff White was having health issues, and isn't making knives any longer. So sad to hear this news. About three months ago, I bought three knives: Camp King, Big River and the French Trade. I love all three - mostly use the French in the kitchen, and the other two outdoors - kind of grab one and go, whichever I'm in the mood for. The Camp King and the Big River are definitely heavy duty knives - they can take a serious beating. Now I'm tempted to grab one more (Kephart?) for giggles. If you can swing it, I highly recommend adding the Camp King and/or Big River to your collection.

I've learned over the years to be able to see if a knife is shaving sharp by testing only a few hairs. Too many instances of having to explain why one arm (or leg in the summer) has way less hair compared to the other.

Hey Walker. For some reason I am not getting notified of all your videos. I get some but not all. This one I didn't get. Just stumbled upon it. Anyway, I spent all day Sunday learning to tie knots for tarp setup. After that, I stumbled on some technical gear ultralight backpackers and hammock campers use for running a ridgeline. For example, there's a tiny metal device called a NAMA Claw which attaches your tarp to your ridgeline. It's a substitute for prussic knots and allows you to move your tarp along the ridgeline to center it over your hammock. Like a prussic knot, it locks in place when tension is placed on it. So once you get your tarp centered where you want it on the ridgeline the NAMA Claw locks and won't allow the tarp to move along the line. And you don't have to tie those prussic knots out in the field

Awesome collection. Can someone explain the situation with Jeff White? He no longer personally makes the knives? Are all Jeff White knives out there made by him? Or are there ones made by other knife makers using his name with his permission?

I know what it's like to not to have two pennies to rub together. I haven't bought a custom knife yet. I have a friend who's an Apache knife fighting instructor. He has a fighting book coming out, and he's designed a Bowie knife. That might be the first custom knife I'll buy. Those knives looked very cool. The handles have a great look to them. Thanks for posting your video. May bacon peace fall on you............I just did a quick look at some of his knives on Ebay, the prices are very reasonable.

How long is the blade on the French trade knife?
@andreweden9405
@andreweden9405 4 жыл бұрын
I could be wrong, but I THINK what he's calling the "French Trade Knife" is actually the "Sloyd". The reason I say this is because I happen to own one myself😂! I believe the French Trade Knife has a longer blade of about 5 to 6 inches. The Sloyd(the last knife reviewed in the video) has a blade of exactly 4 inches, and an overall length of 8 inches.

Nice one Worshipful !! Those are some awesome Masonic knives. I have 2 Jeff White knives, that I love and are my go too knives. I have the Jeff White Camp King and the Jeff White Bush 1. Both of which I love dearly and I have the Scorpion HD with bkack/red micarta, from the pathfinder store. As far as I'm concerned, they are the best Masonic knives around.... #TEAMREDNECK Keith The Alabama Bushcrafter
