Key is actually the Lead Dancer but i feel he always gets overlooked and never gets the attention he deserves for his dancing. He's an extremly clean and energetic dancer but no one ever seems to talk about him. He kinda stands in Taemins shadow which i do understand to some extend, because we all know how amazingly talented Taemin is, however i do wish people would appreciate Key for his talent more. He's been a steady Lead Dancer for over 10 years, always giving his best on stage.

@@cozkeyisinnct I don't think comparing them is good, they are both very different in terms of dancing while taemin is very fluid, key is very sharp and fast. Also their solo careers are completely different because Taemin has been a solo artist for more than 6 years where he was able to show the world how amazing he is while Key has only been a solo for 2 years and most of that time he was in the military. So I'm sure that once he gets a new solo album key is going to be able to show his amazing artistry again and get proper promotion to show everyone how good he is.

I think it's also due to the fact that Taemin's dance style "shines through" more in the choreographies that SHINee has had. They're usually "softer" looking (not easier, of course). I think Good Evening's dance break was one of the only dance moments (within SHINee's dances) where Key could showcase his style better, because of the type of choreo chosen. He's an incredible dancer, definitely! And during his solo promos, he delivered so well. So much energy and such clean moves!

To understand SHINee's "Good Evening" MV what you need to know is that the whole thing is about their journey through the grieving process. When this MV was released it had only been about 6 months since Jonghyun, SHINee's main vocalist, died and this song and MV is all about how SHINee and Shawols have been grieving and are finally ready to begin to heal and come out of the darkness into the light. The album is called The Story of Light and it's all about finding the light out of the darkness, etc. It's about how the members are learning to continue on without Jonghyun and find happiness and light in a situation that will forever be difficult. May 25, 2018, when this MV was released, was SHINee's 10th anniversary so this was also important because it was a comeback to commemorate their 10 years as a group. FYI: Onew is pronounced like Oh-New (his real name is Lee JinKi) and he is the leader. The choreography for "Good Evening" is very deliberate. The reason the choreography is like that is because it depicts them going through the grieving process and it tells the story of all the emotions they went through and how, now at the end, they have made the choice to continue on as a group and keep on running, etc. Each of the members dance a little different because the grieving process is different for each member -- it's not supposed to be hyper synchronized, that was done on purpose. The choreography is really complex and beautiful and fits the song so well. It becomes clearer once you see it in its entirety and start to understand the story behind it all. Fun fact: the choreographer for SHINee's "Good Evening" was the choreographer who was featured in Taemin's "Move" MV, as well as several of Taemin's other songs. She is a famous Japanese choreographer who has known Taemin for years, so it was really special she was able to work on this project because she got to be a part of SHINee's healing process. In the MV, not only is the extra shadow that appears when they look into the tunnel/well at the end speculated to be Jonghyun's shadow, but the fox is thought to also represent him. Onew intensely stares into the eyes of the fox, almost as if he is communicating with the fox through his thoughts, and, to me, it's as if he is sharing a moment with Jonghyun. There is a fox in the story "The Little Prince" and "The Little Prince' was one of Jonghyun's favorite stories. The image of the man behind them is the author of the book "The Little Prince." Plus, a fox often represents the afterlife and the spirit of someone who has passed on reincarnated in many cultures. Also in the beginning you may notice an empty chair. An empty chair is often used to represent the spirit of someone who has passed on as well. But that's just a small portion of the hidden messages within this MV. If you really delve in deep you will discover that the whole MV can be connected to SHINee forever being 5 members and them including Jonghyun in all that they do. There are 5 trees at the end which could represent the fact that, as Onew has said, even though you may only see 4 members on stage, SHINee will forever be a group of 5. They are in a room full of cameras and their images are being projected on the TV screens, which I see as representing the fact that because SHINee is living in the public eye they can never escape from always being watched by the public. Which doesn't allow them the private space to really grieve and to express themselves privately and they are always being judged (both the members in their grieving process and what Jonghyun had to go through and what ultimately led him to feeling the way he did, etc.) This MV used a lot of green and aqua blue light to depict the cool and somber feel of the story, but it also was used because aqua blue/green is SHINee's fan color, and it was used to represent Jonghyun's presence all around them and the support and solidarity they felt with their fans, Shawols. The story in the MV and the choreography is showing the 5 stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance) the members went through and how they have now at the end started to find their way out of it and have made the choice to continue to keep on running and continue on as a group, etc. But I could go on and on ... every part of this MV has a deeper message and meaning, you just have to open yourself up to the fact that everything in this MV has multiple meanings and purposes. You see Minho with those oranges, which is really just a giant pile of orange peels, because this part is supposed to depict how he is blindly just going through life, not even able to process what is happening around him. He is not even looking at the peels. It is like his body and mind is on autopilot. If you notice none of the members ever make eye contact with the camera the entire MV or dance practice, and even in their live performances of the song, you will never see them look at the camera. This was done deliberately as well because they wanted to show how in their grief they were blind to everything that was going on around them and they were closed off to the world and didn't care what was happening outside of themselves even though the world was watching their every move. The part where Key smashes the piano is only one example of of how SHINee shows how they felt for a while after Jonghyun died -- they were angry at everything, including music, and in a way they were blaming "music" and their careers for what happened and in the MV they were taking their anger out on the piano, etc. The plastic sheet and them flailing under water is supposed to represent how they felt suffocated in their grief and how grieving while in the public eye made them feel trapped at times, etc. Every scene, every image, every movement in their dance, every look, every moment they stand still or look blankly, etc. is very deliberate and is there for a reason. This comeback is part of a three part release celebrating SHINee's 10th anniversary. So they released 3 mini albums with 5 songs each in their The Story of Light trilogy and they had 3 comebacks each 2 weeks apart to showcase their lead track on each of their albums. "Good Evening" and "All Day All Night" were their comeback tracks from Episode 1, " I Want You" and "Who Waits for Love" were their comebacks from Episode 2 and Episode 3 was "Our Page" and "Tonight". Their comeback lasted 6 weeks to represent the fact that it was SHINee's 6th "full length" album. We were so spoiled this comeback; it felt so nice to see them doing what they love again. At the end of the six weeks they released a special final MV to celebrate their anniversary and all they have been through over the past 10 years with their song "Countless." "Countless" was an epilogue track that was added to their repackaged Story of Light album. Before this comeback SHINee had just come off their SHINee World Concert V (SWC5) world tour and the members were doing solo activities as they worked on what was going to be an epic 10th anniversary comeback. With Jonghyun's passing, that set them back a few months because they were grieving. It also took time to figure out how they were supposed to function without Jonghyun. But you also should know that, actually, SHINee never really stopped working. Two months after Jonghyun died SHINee held their SHINee World -- The Best from Now On Concert in Japan and they pretty much were working nonstop since then until their enlistment. That concert had originally been planned as part of their 10th anniversary celebration and it had already been sold out. So SHINee felt obligated to honor their fans and continue the concert despite everything, which meant some extra work, because they already had been planning everything with Jonghyun. So they had to quickly go back to the drawing board and figure out how to do it with only 4 members and still honor Jonghyun's memory. In SHINee's fan meeting/concert for their 10th anniversary the members all vowed that SHINee will always be 5 and that Jonghyun will always be involved in everything they do. And during the concert when they performed the choreo for some of their most iconic songs they intentionally left Jonghyun's spot open and only filled in for him when something just wouldn't work without someone in that position. I think we are always going to have reminders of him in all that SHINee does from now on, and that is the way it should be. He was loved and will never be forgotten, and when possible, should always be involved in things that have to do with SHINee. OT5 forever and ever. I think we can feel Jonghyun's presence and influence in this album and songs because a lot of what made SHINee's sound uniquely SHINee (and this album is no exception) was because of Jonghyun. He not only shaped SHINee's sound because he was the main vocal of the group, but he also wrote and composed around 40% of SHINee's songs, so he can be felt in everything they do. It wouldn't be SHINee if we didn't hear his influence shine through in their music, that is what makes SHINee's sound so unlike any other. I think from now on we will always be searching for the hidden messages and moments that represent Jonghyun in everything SHINee does.

I'm sure you've gotten a lot of Shawols talking about this song and choreo, we as fans are known for writing essays about SHINee it's just how we do. But I also wanted to throw in my own thoughts and what I know about how this song was choreographed because it's one of my all time favorite choreos. So as I'm sure you know Koharu Sugawara was the woman behind this dance and Taemin actually asked her to come work with SHINee, as she choreo'd Move (and possibly other songs?) for him. There is actually an interview with Koharu about how she went about creating this choreo and what it was like working with the whole group, which I highly recommend finding the translation of, it's super informative (she specifically said that she told Onew that he should dance contemporary more because he's so relaxed lol) One of the things she mentioned focusing on is having SHINee dance for each other because she felt like they had been performing for everyone else for so long that this song should be them performing for each other. That's why they don't really fully face the front of the stage, don't make eye contact with any cameras and often are dancing in a closed circle (with a member usually having their back to audience, super rare in kpop) - this aspect is definitely more clear in live stages. I, personally, view this choreo as depicting them going through the grieving process. They don't face the audience, don't make eye contact for most of the song. At the beginning and for most of the song they have more contemporary moves of 'running' and almost feeling like there are being carried with no direction and most importantly they aren't interacting with each other. Each member is adrift. Then you get the relative middle of the song and the members start, in pairs, leaning on each other and holding each other up which flows into the rap section where all the members connect together to help each move and ultimately stand up(!!!). After they lean on each other to stand and move forward the song finishes with them still dancing to each other in a half circle but Shawols are now the other half of the circle. Finally the last burst of choreo is more 'classic' kpop choreo with all of them finally facing the audience showing that they are still SHINee. Gosh sorry I wrote like a novel! I just have many feelings about this choreo and how amazingly Koharu saw SHINee. I just really appreciate her work and want others to fully appreciate Koharu's choreo and how SHINee brought it to life!

Re: concept of Good Evening's choregraphy On her radio show, Koharu (the choreographer) shared that this choreo was meant to be a "rest" for SHINee. She said that she didn't want SHINee to feel stressed when performing this, probably considering the context on which this song was released (1st comeback after Jonghyun's passing). She chorepgraphed it for SHINee to "stop" dancing for this song as they have always been dancing. That's why the choreo is a bit relaxed(?), controled but carefree executions (idk if that makes sense lol) and had elements of them sort of just running around. She also said that it was intentional that the members are not looking at the camera and looking at each other's eyes instead (even on the live perfs they do this) so it's like we are watching them in their own world. She added parts where they dance in a circle, like generally giving a feel of "SHINee performs for SHINee" and we are just onlookers. Oh also the idea of using chairs! She said that when she met SHINee members for the 1st time (except Taemin cuz they already worked tgt before), they already had this cool aura even when just sitting down and not doing anything so she did a choreo where the members are sitting on chairs, just being their 'cool' selves. Koharu is a very brilliant choreographer, I love her so much! She said more things so for anybody interested, here's an english subbed snippet of that show: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqfPd3hvmcxke5Y

Minho is a great dancer, and maybe he didnt explain it very well, but never know how to explain it either, Ive seen the same ''masculine stiffness'' in him in all of his performances. And tbh not just in his dancing you can see it in his body all the time, the way he moves, how he handles himself etc. Its funny I remember finding it a bit strange compared to the other members and then i saw a clip of Minhos family and his dad has the exact same posturing :D now that you mentioned it i guess it would really be perfect for a more classic couple dances, where that ''masculine stiffness'' is usually there to ground the more fluid and graceful feminine dance of the partner.
@BambiLena666
@BambiLena666 3 жыл бұрын
@Kerry Shito Both in the video and I said the use of ''masculine stiffness'' for lack of a better word. Idk why youre taking it as a bad thing that he takes a lot of his posture from his dad? Id assume hed be happy about it, he seems to love his dad and family very much. Most people pick up posture and mannerisms from our family, theres nothing wrong with it. No one is calling him a bad dancer either, or that he didnt work hard, or that he doesnt deserve it, or that he isnt sweet and caring. Youre kinda putting that into it, because of the term ''masculinity'' maybe? idk. Ive seen a lot of their performances and to me this way of moving with Minho is very visible. And you can see a difference in how he moves in the section mentioned compared to the others in every stage. I never knew how to explain it, and to me the term ''masculine stiffness'' makes sense. It doesnt make him a bad dancer overall. One doesnt exclude the other. Is he a perfect dancer that can dominate all types and genres of dance? No. From what I know he isnt trying to be either, it doesnt mean hes not talented or a bad dancer overall or whatever. That ''masculine stiffness'' actually works really well and is learned for dances like he did in that show you mentioned. Fluid but firm in movements. The man is not perfect in every possible way. And thats not a bad thing. Hes a great dancer, great rapper, singer, actor, and seems like a caring sweet person. He doesnt need to be perfect at everything, and others can be better than him at some things. Thats normal.
@BambiLena666
@BambiLena666 3 жыл бұрын
I think I understand what you mean. Maybe firmness would be a better word? As for his dad, like I said its just about the way he holds himself that somewhat translates into his dancing. You can see it in all of them, the way they move and hold themselves translates into their dancing. Its something I really love about Shinee, they were very rarely treated as robots, they were allowed put their style and personality into their dances, even though they are doing the same move, each of them does it a liiiittle bit different bringing their personal style into it. And Minhos bringing his personality into it looks the most ''masculine'' between the Shinee boys. Jonghyun had it sometimes but it wasnt like that most of the time. That ''masculine firmness'' is something you can see in professional dancers, hell Ive seen plenty of it even in couples figure skaters, and they sure as hell are graceful and fluid. It just stands out sometimes compared to rest of the Shinee boys, cause the others dont really have that posture about them. But for example, their Superstar vibe and choreo suited that style really well, and honestly no matter how amazing dancers Taemin and Key are, Minhos personal style fits so well I regularly find myself just looking at him during dance parts. Now imma try and make another comparison, tho this one might be wrong, since I havent seen too much of Exos Kai dancing. But from what Ive seen he has a similar way about him that Minho has. I dont think anyone would argue that Kai is a bad dancer. I just personally found it interesting when watching a lot of more ''masculine'' dances from Super M, like 100 choreo for example, Kais style just looks and fits so much better than Taemin. Whos an amazing dancer too, his style is just different. I think I also understand the worry between masculine and feminine terminology, I dont personally see the words as good or bad, or that they make you more or less of a man or woman, its just the terminology we have atm based on centuries of dance and culture, im sure it will change in time. Taemin for example talked a lot about this, and essentially made an entire album around expressing both, and combining the dancing. Im going on a tangent now. I get Minho got a lot of crap over the years. In my view hes an intergal part that brings a lot to the group, hes also the most ''masculine'' of the boys with his mannerisms and how he moves/holds himself, this fits some of their choreos more than others, in some it brings more in some less, and I really dont see that as a horrible thing. None of that changes the fact they are all very talented and great singers and dancers. Tho as far as I know all the Shinee boys got crap, Onew and Jonghyun because ''why you need 2 vocalists one can do the job'', key cause why you need 2 rappers/2dancers, Minho cause why you need 2 rappers, taemin got a lot of crap for a while cause he couldnt sing. its just such a dumb mindset. Idk i hope I explained what i mean better. P.S. edit: I think Minhos more masculine vibe (among the members) brought a very important unique thing, all Shinee boy generally talked and worked on messing with gender norms, I think Minhos more traditional masculine way about him coupled with how silly, cute, gentle and caring, and how sweet and attentive he was when ever they interact with kids(things that arent considered traditionally masculine), brought a unique and important side to those conversations as well.

@@TaniaMitsu I’m pretty sure most people know that the shadow isn’t really Jonghyun, someone had to be filmed to make the shadow, but like OP just said, it’s a representation of Jonghyun. A symbol/imagery of some sort. To show that while we do see four of the current members, Jonghyun’s presence (or in other forms of ways) will always be with there. I’m sure there’s a more official version but that’s just how I took it when I first watched the MV.

I appreciate the sentiment in your comment; However, realistically, he was reacting to an MV and dance practice with 4 people performing on screen. There is also an obvious impact of the tragedy these 4 went through not so long before 'Good Evening' was released. It only makes sense for him to talk about wanting to see how the group is post Dec 2017 vs before, which he has already seen. I think he was very respectful in his speach too. I just worry that comments like yours (even though you were super polite) will make reactors too worried about reacting to Shinee, so they may either not react to them at all or not show an honest reaction.

@@Pos1t1veThinking I understand what you are saying and it is exactly why I debated whether I should comment or not but in the end that very unpleasant feeling I got when I heard him say OT4 made me decide to post my comment in an effort to politely remind a very respectful new (to them) reactor that they will always be five so that maybe he won't use that term in future videos.

@@Pos1t1veThinking its less about the fact that theres four members physically but more the use of OT4. OT4 is a problematic term because it was first used by jinki antis after his scandal. So when you say OT4 it is usually in reference to those people who want onew out of the group. saying "first time reacting with four members or w/o jonghyun" is fine but OT4 as a term is really not preferred by shawols due to those negative connotations.

@@duchessindenim Yes, I actually was following her content before I found out that she choreographed for Taemin and SHINee! When I saw her in the MOVE MV I was SHOOK because I didn't know it was going to happen, and then I could see her style come out in Good Evening. I watched a video too where she talked about how she choreographed Good Evening in a way that they're facing each other a lot versus the audience given the situation. That was really smart so that they could focus their attention on each other as it might be difficult to perform again. The choreography also allows a lot of freedom (dropping their heads, bending down, wide movements, many purposely not 100% synced moves between members etc.) which I think gives room for letting out strong emotions

Another aspect of this choreo is that throughout all of the performances they completely avoid eye contact with the cameras. They never directly look at them, only at the floor, sky and eachother which gives a really private and intimate feel to the choreo, appropriate for it being their first song after Jonghyuns passing.

as far as I recall, the fox related to a story (I think I saw someone comment before that it's from one of Jonghyun's favourite children's stories, but don't quote me on it), and at the end, there's a 5th shadow in the well, representing Jonghyun. This song is actually a full contemporary choreography. That's actually why Minho's "body roll" wasn't that fluid, it was quite deliberate as they all are just dancing how they want to dance to it. They are expressing themselves through that choreography and it's beautiful. People in comments already talked about it so I won't add more but it's actually all about grief. It's was the first story told by them for their 6th album (they released 3 title songs + another song for the repackage). It would be nice if you have time to check "I want you". It's the 2nd story/song from this album and the continuation of Good Evening. They also have a dance practice video for it!

There is a part two for this with the song and mv for (I want you) and that song and mv is about how they see themselves; it has dance practice as well. By the way the choreographer is koharu the same choreographer who works with taemin a lot, she did the choreos for move, want, sayonara hitori, flame of love and worked on criminal choreo with kasper. Taemin actually had hands in good evening choreo for a lot of parts specially the bench part

key, destroying the piano, symbolizes great frustration and anger towards the music industry especially at that moment where, you know, the entire kpop industry were dark and quiet. this is one of many interpretations on this music video. oh, and the fox also symbolizes jonghyun as well as the shadow on the well at the end is him.
@Saddlemomma

This album came out very soon after Jonghyun's death (main vocalist and brother member of SHINee). Jonghyun's favorite book was "The Little Prince". The cartoonish fox is the character within that book and represents many things, especially Jonghyun. The movie-like shadow of the man behind Onew is Antoine de Saint-Exupery (author of The Little Prince). Milinda Wilson, another SHAWOL (SHINee World fan) has a very in-depth, well researched explanation of all of this in other reaction comments. As I don't have permission to copy/paste it here, I hope she will see your reaction and elucidate. In any case, I will also try to provide an explanation of some of the things I see here, although it won't be as good as M. Wilson's. The glaring flashes at the beginning (with Key) and all the cameras pointing at the members signify the scrutiny the remaining members were under right after the tragedy. They were not allowed to grieve properly, as all the papers and media wanted access to them to ask them about Jonghyun's death. However, SHINee just wanted to be treated normally and left alone to grieve. The video is bathed in aqua lighting in many scenes because pearl aqua is SHINee's signature color. The whole point of the video is to honor Jonghyun and show the other members' stages of grief, chiefly sadness in the beginning and when Onew looks at the anime fox (Jonghyun) longingly; anger when Key smashes the piano. Taemin (who plays piano beautifully) walking on the piano keys because he can't bring himself to play due to grief. The closeup of Onew's hands give the feeling of him being isolated from the others. Onew had been falsely accused of sexual harassment just prior to Jonghyun's death and had withdrawn from many of SHINee's activities so as not to distract or create fodder for the media for a while. He had just started to get back to regular activities with SHINee, as he had been cleared of all accusations, when all this happened. As the leader of SHINee, Onew felt a lot of responsibility and guilt (unfortunately and unnecessarily, as none of it was his fault) over it. He said that for the longest time he didn't feel he had the right to cry to express his grief. The choreo in the beginning is not supposed to be fluid but rather more disjointed to demonstrate how they are trying to resolve the struggle to adapt to having only four members together rather than five (they had all been together for 11 years at that point and are extremely close). Under the plastic - suffocating under the weight of the relentless press and feelings of heartbreak, loss. Acceptance comes in the symbolism of looking into the well and seeing Jonghyun's shadow. He is still with them in spirit, and they can catch glimpses of him in their music - especially through the many songs Jonghyun wrote for them. Finally, Key looks back into the forest where the fox dwells, as if to say goodbye, and then, with a very slight grin, as if to say everything is going to be okay, he runs to catch up with the others, as they move on to continue the dream of all five of them, carrying Jonghyun in their hearts and remaining always 5 = 5HINee. You can see at the end, with the choreo, the four of them are now dancing evenly spaced, in perfect synchronicity as before when it was all 5 of them together. Then they are all running together happily, smiling in the forest. They have passed through the worst part of their grief and are ready to move on, but always with Jonghyun's spirit (depicted as the shadow in the well again) with them. The album, "The Story of Light" pays homage to Jonghyun. It was released in 3 parts and each of the three title songs were about their feelings for Jonghyun: "Good Evening", "I Want You", and "Our Page". "I Want You" sounds very upbeat and cheerful, but it's camouflage for the sad lyrics underneath. "Our Page" was written by all four members, is beautiful, meaningful, and reduces you to tears, especially if you watch the MV. The collective album is a masterpiece and even includes the song, "Lock You Down" with Jonghyun's voice that was pre-recorded.

The trouble with Shinee is that they are all so talented that if you compare them in one area you miss out on the other stuff cos a number 5 slot in Shinee is number 1 in any other group. What i have continued to appreciate is how they have found their niche as a group and allow their talent and areas of passion to excel in. They have given the space for each to thrive, they celebrate each other's strong points and fanboy each other with such passion and love. Its us fans who struggle by comparing here or there this one vs that one. They have a much better healthy relationship with their talent and I like that they push each other even in areas where they might find weaker - so they support, mess about while being very protective of each other and want to see each other shine. Just love that about them the most (outside of their talent of course)

Good Evening is for me Kibum's choreo, as in, I cannot help but look at him all the time and this comes from a very obsessed Taemin fan. Both the dance and the expression are on point. That been said, I like how this is a choreography that allows everyone to dance it the way they want it to. In general, I feel like SHINee's disctinctive personalities are what make them amazing, and you can see that in the way that all of them dance. I think this music video, song and choreography were amazing picturing grieving and the hope of coming out of a dark place. I love it so much.

As they have already said, SHINee has and will have 5 members and their temporal status will not change that. Furthermore, OT4 originated from people who wanted to erase Onew from SHINee during the height of his scandal. Since he has been cleared of all accusations, there is no longer cause to continue using OT4, especially not to refer to them after 18th Dec.

I mean yes, but Jeff reviews the song and the choreography that he’s watching. For us and for them SHINee is always 5 but this song is sung and danced by four people, SHINee physically are four rn and he’s talking about this choreography which was made for four people. I don’t think he wanted to offend anybody.

@@romigimenez I don't think he meant something bad, too, but it's always good to let people know how us shawols see things. "OT4" bothers me too, no matter the context. Jeff doesn't know about this, that's why Jerick is explaining the reasons we don't like it. OT4 for me, a shawol since 2009, means very dark things when said in a shinee context, so I prefer, not to use the therm. It would feel less burdening saying "that's my first reaction to shinee with 4 members", since we can also say it when talking about Why So Serious, for example. We mean no harm; shawols are and probably will always be hurt and sensitive, the only thing we seek is comprehension from other people.

@@grapebutterfly i get what you’re saying but once again, i don’t see jeff trying to offend anyone, maybe he didn’t use the correct words to express himself but you get what he’s saying, also i think is okay to educate him about shinee and why shawols are sensitive about this topic but i think sometimes shawols are too much, sometimes i just want to watch someone react to my favorite group without having to be reminded every single time of what happened, to me is difficult enough already, i also have been a shawol for a long time, shinee is the only group i stan and there’s a lot of sensitive topics for me too. My comment was just trying to make ya’ll see that not everyone is attacking shawols all the time, and i’m grateful people still want to get to know shinee, the members, their music, etc.

@@romigimenez Yeah, I get what you're saying, I understand it. I'm sure Jerick didn't mean that Jeff offended us in some way and I know Jeff didn't and wouldn't want to offend us or shinee. I also get that it's tiring to always see something like this related to any shinee content, I myself am sick of people saying "i miss jonghyun" in every single thing about shinee. However sometimes it's good to educate people about how we work. I can see where you're coming from when you say that sometimes shawols are too much, tho i also can see where the "too much" comes from too. It's good to have this talk and get to know every side of shawols and we gotta accept that not everyone feel the same when it comes about what happened. We got beaten up so much, we got disrespected to much even after dec. 18th, that now we do gatekeep a lot of things abt shinee, i do it myself. feels like a defense mechanism? idk. but yeah, i hope you understand why sometimes we are too much. I could apologize for it, but I won't, because feelings are felt and we cant help it. Thank you for your point of view.

@@grapebutterfly yes, thank you for your point of view as well, i think now i’ll be able to be more understandable towards shawols who feel that way and feel the need to express it, thank you.

This was choreographed by Koharu--she's the one who who did Taemin's Sayonara Hitori/Goodbye (the one he performed with in Hit The Stage) and also Move (i think?) Key is the lead dancer in SHINee, he really does have sharp movements and he also memorizes choreo the fastest according to the members. The MV was rumored to be about the 5 stages of grief. The fox is from Jonghyun's favorite book, The Little Prince (a photo of the author was projected in the wall in one of Onew's scenes). A shadow who resembles Jonghyun was present inside the well at the ending scene. PS: it's Onew hehehe you're just missing a letter 😉

I like you interpretation. If you can feel the sadness it's because this was their first comeback after Jonghyun's passing. There are many references and meaning in the mv. One of them is the Fox, it's from The Little Prince , one of Jonghyun's favourite book. And also in the end of the mv, you can see the fifth shadow in the well. I miss Jonghyun so much, he's my UB.

When I watched this live for the first time I though "How the hell they're so stable while singing with all that headbanging!?". I think if you check the other title tracks from that album (The Story of Light), you'll maybe understand the storyline better. It was iconic, we got an MV every two weeks, practically for one and a half month!

1) the music video is about how the public sees them and how they are under the media, the public and non fans gaze. how they are viewed by others. the fox was both representing the fans and an ode to Jonghyun since his fav book was the little prince 2) this comeback "good evening" is part 1 of three and the part 2 music video "I want you" connect to this music video which it represent how shinee view themselves 3)key is the fastest to learn choreos and he usually always puts extra energy in his movement. he got accepted in sm for his dancing 4)they all actually pretty fluid and amazing dancers but don't really copy each other movement and each member dances in his own style unless the choreo demand same exact style 5) koharu sugawara is the choreographer for this she made move & want choreos for taemin among others. she is a good friend of taemin. Taemin also add parts in the choreo and re-worked some parts and all things in the choreo that may look random and choatic here are actually intentional Hope all this was helpful. thank you for reacting to shinee. hope you react to more of them in future
