“I didn’t expect him to be rapping actually” Key literally being the lead rapper in SHINee: 🥹 (Although he really is a “triple threat”-sing dance rap- as how we 2nd gen fans knew him) Babywols are so cute 🫶🏻 thank you for supporting Key❤

love how you said how Dance is music made visual, which is so interesting cos when Conan Grey asked if Key prefers music or dance his reply was "music, because dance is part of an expression of music"

Key since debut has the nickname almighty key... basically meaning he's a jack of all trades. In shinee he's shows his duality a lot, doing both rap and singing lines. He's also the 2nd best dancer in shinee in my opinion so he also gets a lot of dance segments. You should check out the gasoline mini series to get some insights to his creative process. He's incredibly passionate and creative about his music, and he mentioned in a video with Conan Gray that he sees dance as a form of visualization of music, so your comment seems pretty spot on.

thank u for this vid omg!💗 i hope u know kasper is only the co-choreographer and the person who actually did most of it is KANY ! :-) she’s worked with huge names like michael jackson, brandy, beyonce, and a lot more. i actually really recommend you watch the video “behind the gasoline #4” on youtube! it shows the conception of gasoline and has an interview with kany and she reveals that key had a heavy hand in the choreography as well :-)

SHINee live is completely mindblowing so i get it when u prefer them live, all shawols do haha Note: its also super cool that Key did actually DEBUT being part of the singing line, rap line, and dance line, as a triple threat. Its just not always as noticeable in SHINee bcos everyone is so good

You saw Key live twice! I envy you a lot. I watched the audience reaction when Key performed Gasoline for the 1st time and it was insane. Yes, SHINee is a stage presence group ☆ I recommend you watch BOUND by Key. The choreo is influenced by voguing style. It's not common to see something like this in k-pop so it would be interesting to hear your opinion ♡

This must have been AMAZING to see live. Key said he pushed hard to perform this song at the SMtown concert because he wanted to perform it in a large stadium. I firmly believe Key would have been the main dancer of SHINee if Taemin wasn't there. 🤣🤣 He is such a clean and precise dancer. Also, Kany, who choreographed for Beyonce, also co-choreographed with Kasper on Gasoline.

When you mentioned about the musicality and how Key seems to be visualizing it... GASOLINE IS ACTUALLY A CUSTOM-MADE SONG. KEY REQUESTED FOR THE SONG TO BE COMPOSED WITH THE SOUNDS AND BEATS THAT HE HAD IN MIND.. He legit “played the sounds and beats with his mouth, then the composer worked with him on it. He made the lyrics.
@nettea85642 жыл бұрын
I really love this song and mv. His albums just keep getting better. I like this more when I watched the behind the scenes, dance practice and even the draft version of the choreography. You really see how he created the concept, how it evolved and eventually the execution. It’s not just the creativity that shone but his overall sense even on the business and practical aspects. 🙌🏼

Jeff you really NEED to get more into SHINee, they're an unpredictable group, you will be more surprised seeing how different type of sounds, dances and concepts they try, as a group and soloists. Minho has a solo song with a choreo called Heartbreak from last year and Onew had his solo comeback in april calling Dice and it has a choreo too! I'm pretty sure that if you get more into SHINee, their music and performances, you will LOVE them! Like many of the NCT members respect and admire SHINee and Haechan for example is a big shawol himself, he wanted to be a idol after watching SHINee's Replay mv. Really, you wouldn't be disappointed!

I’m gonna have to edit this in a few min to find all my sources but SHINee was trained to be a hip hop group prior to their debut. You need to hear songs like “Alive” and “Shout Out” to hear MinKey going all out as SHINee’s rapline. If you wanna see Key + SHINee doing hip hop dancing, check out SHINee’s 2008 predebut showcase.

Key is one of the rappers in SHINee and he was pushed as the rapper in SM when the group was new (because his tone and attitude fit the role really well) what happened is that key is also a great singer and SM kinda stopped focusing on rapper key (see newer songs even his solos lol). But if we are going to choose a voice that would naturally fit the role of a rapper, that's keys voice, really edgy and aggressive.

Key is an amazing rapper and was wondering if he would ever rap in his solo work. SHINee was originally supposed to debut as a hip hop group with Taemin's popping and Key and Minho's rapping, that was the plan. I think it was Key who said they didn't have the swag to pull it off so they really worked on their vocals. I can't imagine SHINee not being considered a vocal group. Lol Key is amazing and in pretty much any other group without Taemin, would most likely be the main dancer. He can pretty much do anything ...sing, dance, rap, lyricist....he's the king of concepts. There are reasons Key is my Ultimate Bias. Lol

SHINee's members are especially known for being even better live than on the studio version. All of them are amazing live so it really not surprise me to hear you say he elevated Gasoline at Suwon! It must have been fantastic and an out of this world performance. As for the rapping part... it's not a surprised for Shawols as Key is also part of the rap line in SHINee. And he uses all his talents when making his solo music (high register, low register, rap, etc.) As for your comment on how he is dancing quite fast for someone from the 2nd gen... well, Key is known for his dance skills, he can basically copy any choreography in no time, of any group from any generation. He has a lot of energy and precision so he can basically dance to anything. Thank you for reacting to Key! Honestly I am still addicted to his album, Gasoline is full of amazing song + as also a Nctzen and Jeno's stan, seeing Jeno being featured and chosen by Key himself because he can sing, rap and his voice is interesting + complementary to Key's voice, was something so precious (because ofc Jeno is fan of SHINee too), I will never forget that amazing moment. If you haven't done it yet on patreon, you should check out the whole album! Also, Bound has a dance practice video now so you can also do a reaction on this performance on KZbin (if you want to ofc!)

“Agile for someone from the second gen”?Firstly SHINee is the youngest group considered second gen so they’re not old by any means, secondly don’t contribute to ageism in Kpop when in any other music industry we wouldn’t blink twice if someone in their 30s is in their prime, imagine Americans being shocked by Beyoncé dance skills, that’s just ridiculous

When you mentioned Hiphop.. SHINee was actually supposed to be a hiphop group, to bebut with a hiphop song 80% rap 20% vocals. Also seen him live many times and he just transforms.. all of SHINee actually,, they have that overflowing aura on stage when performing.

I’m new to this channel and I got questions bc as a dancer myself been dancing since I was 3 I did ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, “hip hop” & African. I have questions bc your commentary is sus bc of your wording or phrasing. As a performer you should know live is always supposed to be better than the studio/MV bc it’s live and you are performing. So if you were pleasantly surprised it was that it was better live then you are just use to lack luster performances. That 2nd gen comment was uncalled for bc 1) what 2nd gen group can’t move 2) why wouldn’t they be able to still dance? Your late 20s and 30s are not old. If you can’t move that means your not stretching or taking care of yourself. Get up and go for a walk every once and awhile. If you have a desk job make sure to stretch your legs and back daily. My friend pulled her back picking up a sock at 24 bc she doesn’t stretch according to her doctor. I hate the category of dance phrasing of “Hip Hop” bc I believe it’s gentrified phrasing of black diaspora dances. ( I knw we use it to describe a genre of dance but I hate it bc who primarily uses the phrasing “that’s so hip hop” 😑) It’s gives off a certain vibe if you knw what I mean. I bring this up because you said you dnt normal see hip hop dancing in K-pop and I was in confusion bc it’s EVERYWHERE!!! Basically immersed into the genre now so… GASOLINE & VILLAIN were all “hiphop” dances ranging from African American Simple Bboy moves such as rocking and to African dances like shaku shaku. We saw a combination of these dances in GASOLINE. In VILLAIN we saw a form of popping and isolation along with more bboy. Like it wasn’t “soo hiphop” it was point blank period. I didn’t see a jazz square in there or chassé 😂 Like all 3rd & 4th gen do is gentrified hiphop so I’m baffled by that statement you normally dnt see it. KANY a Senegalese choreographer help jasper choreo GASOLINE this is another reason why African dances are throughout the whole routine, especially in the bridge when they are going around in the circle then they went back to modern African dances where you see the shaku shaku dance near the end. She also choreographed for Beyoncé! As a West Indian immigrant in the states who put in an all white dance class to be “classically trained” 🙄 I understand where your gentrified dance mind is coming from when you make these comments. However luckily for me my parents were like you need to knw your culture and be around other black folks and I had the opportunity to learn amongst my peers. This girl was constantly code switching. From a performer to another performer do better. I’m very disappointed in those “hiphop” / 2nd gen ageism comments.
