Black lawyers who become historians are powerful: Gerald Horne, Greg Carr, Annette Gordon Reed, Jeffrey Robinson. There’s something there…

I absolutely LOVED this conversation, just as Mr. Robinson spoke…my head has been blown off in the past two years. The truth shall set you free…from In Class with Carr, to the birth of Knarrative, to all the knowledge and awareness you have bestowed upon your people Ms. Hunter…thank you! Sometimes I think of leaving this country, but I want to bring a brick to fight and safe my people.

*@Karen, I'm so HAPPY that you said **#MediocrityFearAndNationalism** because I too, never thought there was a 'White Supremacy'; they have NEVER been SUPREME over us!* *Also, all of these so-called symbolic attributes are insults to our intelligence! WE NEED **#REPARATIONS**, immediately!!!!* ✊🏽 *In addition to going down a deep hole of knowledge, we need more **#MasterTeachers**, few teachers are even equipped to go deep, they only know what they know.*

More than anything this highlights not that we are ignorant and do not know ourselves, but that the effort to crush that knowledge out of us is tremendous, ongoing and very real. And still we rise, slowly and painfully but yes we do.

Having seen his presentation 2018 on KZbin. His creditably was why I stayed tune to his other presentations with different audiences, the message was on the path at this level by a person people listen to. So so pleased to see its now a documentary.

Jeffery Robinson connected all the pieces of history in a way I never saw before. And I, who grew up in suburban California, have always prided myself on my knowledge. But I've had to admit that in some regards I was ignorant and prejudiced in ways that I was unaware of. There is nothing I can do about that other than to try and educate myself now. I am still not as educated as I wish I was, but Mr. Robinson helped me find places to start. The one real result is that I now tend to listen more to what black people have to say about race in America than what white politicians say. And until we fully accept our shared history for what it is, there will be conflict. For my part, I try to tell others about the things I now know. I try to raise awareness among my family and friends. And it is tough going. People don't easily give up their preconceived notions and prejudices. But Mr. Robinson has given me a good starting place. So I commend and thank him for that.

IDK... something tells me that if he had attended a Black school in Memphis (with the phenomenal Black Memphis educators), he would not have been shocked to learn about the history of racism. He paid for his miseducation at "the best schools" and didn't learn anything. I also understand Black history is not widely assessable, but it's not hiding in plain sight. Black educators/people been teaching/sharing this insight, but social structure just ain't trying to hear it. And We are going to continue having these courageous conversations with or without the banned books laws in our classes and in our communities. We have a long rich history of Fugitive Pedagogy. Thank you, Prof. Hunter and Jeffery Robinson. Bless up

Thank you Prof. Hunter for this discussion with the esteemed Jeffrey Robinson! This brother has been bringing the goods for the good fight!!👏🏾👏🏾 Kudos to you, Prof. Hunter for even as a child you were rejecting the incongruency in the narrative that was being fed to you about our ancestors!!🌹👏🏾 It's amazing how everything is seemingly coalescing for our people today. With each guest that you invite on your podcasts, you're helping to expose the insanity of what is being done to hide our history/heritage!! We need to take extra care to ensure that ALL our children (from Kindergarten thru HS) are educated about our ancestors' contributions to this country. As Black parents, educators, religious leaders, etc., it's on us to ensure that our truths are taught to our children no matter how much our politicians/ leaders try to eliminate our history!!🙏🏾💯

And here we thought STEM was more important than history to the black community. Back in the day, white people wrote a bunch of stuff down, and people are starting to look at the receipts. That's why the lost cause myth has fallen into disrepute.

Great discussion, but to sum it all up. We are in a time when CRT has come into play , because many blacks as well other people has questioned the history we've been taught. There is so much resources out there that validate our true history that it's not even debatable anymore, so they just want to deny it altogether.
