Nope. They`d say he doesn't have a good look, he's blind, he plays an instrument well which is a no-no, he performed an original song which is not a good thing either, he needs to change his name, his singing isn't like Whitney Houston, etc. Basically a load of BS. Those shows can't recognize real talent - just singing gymnastics and nothing but.

When this guy came to England I went to see him in Portsmouth. The venue was full of biker guys and long haired rockers. This is about 1990. I was 24 , stapress Levis' , Ben Sherman, loafers and a sport's jacket. They all snarled at me 'till I lit my fat joint, then we became friends. What a guitar player this guy is. He brought the fucking house down when he did 'see the light'.

there's a reason Page, Clapton, EVH are where they are. Healey was a MONSTER of a player. but he's no EVH. not trying to be negative, but he's not. EVH was an atomic bomb dropped on rock n' roll in 1978. everyone knows this. he absolutely transformed guitar playing, soloing, guitar configuration, effects and inspired so many thereafter. page blackmore and clapton were critical revolutionaries, also. Healey isn't really in that category. he was an fantastic, fantastic live blues player with monster chops for sure. but his legacy isn't one of transforming the instrument in rock

Yeah, I guess there's no guarantee of any artist making it big, but Jeff created that 'buzz' wherever he went. He seems like such a pure guy, like he could play on any stage with any band and land on his feet so well. That's who he was. The popular songs and albums were great too but he was a devoted musician principally. He's so Old School that way, like he's a jazz player. I believe he owned an insane amount of old records.

@@paulgordon6949 lol.. i know., Listen Mate, I have been blessed to play with some of the best, the absolute cream of the crop at times when I was working enough to attract the cats. I am telling you straight up for a cat as young as Jeff to get that kind of performance and respect from those veterans speaks very loudly to me. These cats absolutely laid that shit bra.. love this cut. And the coolest part of it all, is Jeff deserved the respect they gave him. performances like this are so rare my friend. I bet that room still smells like mojo

Jeff HEaley is in a league of its own...Marcus and Omar are barely keeping up - blessed to be there - they are great , I am a fan of both, but this is supernatural power on display - leagues above...you can't learn that.... Even SRV, the absolute brute force in blues, had to take a step back and admire....jaw open...

This is hands down one of the most impressive and inspirational musicianship performances you will see. If you happen to be unfamiliar with this band without Jeff Healey sitting in, like I was, they are absolutely world class tight and talented. And at this point in their careers they were at their height. They are they are the cake. Then Healey absolutely crushes it. He is 2 inches of icing on the cake. Easy to say, but forget for a moment the inspirational element of Healey's life story and just listen. They simply just ROCK! Absolutely slay. And Jeff is 20 or 21 at this point??? This video clip is the absolute pinnacle of funk from a makeshift group of 4 guys without a minute's thought of their age, race or physical hurdles.

Definitely the most underrated guitarist of all time and his vocals are also right up there in my opinion. His version of While my guitar gently weeps is the best version of it I've ever heard. Most of us first heard him in the movie Road House and I've been a fan ever since its such a shame that he's no longer here but damn he left us with some incredible music.
