It's always a good idea to move the swarm a good distance from the place of capture, that way they will not return to it. You know that stand is hosed now. Its just gonna keep getting those half flat beach balls that never go in. Had one show up yesterday about 10 minutes after re baiting the trap in the yard I was going thru. ( Dont know how that works either, happens a few times each year) Baffles me how they find it a mile away and miss it by an inch at the same time. Gotta like slurping up endless globs of bees!

I use a bee vac on almost all of my removals, it is the safest, fastest, and easiest way to remove bees. Plus, because the bee vac is specially designed not to harm bees due to it's low suction, it does no harm to the bees. Hey Mr. Ed I wanted to thank you for all of your videos and encouragement. For the last 3 years my 2 hives have died during winter. I had given up and decided to stop keeping hives, but because of your videos, I decided to set them up as traps, leaving some of the frames with just a little honey and adding some lemongrass oil. It was a swarm, and swarms are bees that are not as established hive. Often, swarms that happen later in the year have more than 1 queen in them as multiple queens hatch from swarm cells. Fascinating how they conga-string together and form a sort of fabric over the combs!

The word for that is "festooning" and it's how bees are able to build, and attach new comb in a hive.
