Man, I miss going out there. Used to have Fridays off and heading out to Alafia or Balm River was a great way to start my weekend. One of the best parts about living in the Tampa area.

Shhhh....don't tell anybody else about what a great job these builders are doing. We will need to hire air-traffic controllers soon! Nice vid and capture of the local vibe. 🤘🏽

Fun place. Opening day of the Meadows Flow jumpline was nuts. Hundreds of riders having a blast. Last night before dark I had the entire jumpline to myself. :)

Been hitting Alafia each year when I visit from WA. Really fun park and well built trails!! Thanks for highlighting some of the good spots!! Sick bike to shred that place on too!!

So stoked that folks who ride all over have love for Alafia. Steve Caballero (80s skateboarding legend from California) rode Alafia a year or two ago and said it was "amazing".

Loved riding here during a visit two years ago after seeing it in a video Jeff posted then. Saw an armadillo there - didn’t know they lived in Florida. The Buzzards Bay loop lived up to its name. Trails there are so fun.

I rediscovered MTB about 8 months ago, little did I know, when moving to the area few years ago, that I was right by all of these amazing trails. As an ex-BMXer (for decades), I can't believe how lucky I got. I ride these parks several times a week now. Alafia, Carter and Balm. LOVE them!

You got me motivated to get my Mountian Bike from up North and start getting back into riding. I moved here few years ago and left it up there cause I didn't think we have anywhere to ride and didn't fit in the car 😅 , which of the 3 you listed do you like the most?
@bmx6727 ай бұрын
@@1988Olds All three parks are different in their own ways... but if I had to pick my favorite, it would be Alafia just based on the variety of trails/jumps. Balm is long and Carter (Loyce) is technical.

Im going to move to Florida and mtb is my love, so first of all Im discovering cycling in Florida. And I was really happy to see that these guys are same as me, not a teenagers. That's mean Florida has serious attitude for mtb. 👍

This totally echoes our Alafia experiences. On our past trips, my son and I would session the Gwazi Berm and end up meeting locals that would take us all over. Lost Meadows was introduced to us this way. There was so much stoke from everyone in the group it was contagious.

Between Santos and Alfia there is legit riding... Ebikes seem counterintuitive , but they really take riding in Fla to the next level

Wonder how they keep those packed with no clay in the soil, looks almost like concrete. Have ridden basically everything between Mayakka and Ft Meyers, but somehow that place always slipped under the radar.

Going to Orlando end of March on a business trip. But have a few days before the work start for personal stuff. Any recommendation where I could rent an eMTB and spend a few hours in a bikepark near Orlando ? I do not have a rental car. I have tried a to search a lot, but with zero luck.

I am 15 years old and I live about one hour away from that bike park, but I’ve only ridden there twice because I don’t know anybody else that rides mountain bikes and I also don’t have the greatest bike to use either

I have no words, why is everyone on a battery bike? It's FLORIDA! Are people getting that much weaker nowadays or what?
@alexandernickos221310 ай бұрын
That's precisely the reason they're on a battery bike, come on down here and see how you do on the constant punchy climbs

Florida can be a bit deceptive on a bike.
@RealMTBAddict10 ай бұрын
@@alexandernickos2213I lived there for years. Did a 120 mile ride from Tamarac to the Valuejet memorial. Done plenty of rides in Markham Park among many other trails. I've never thought to myself "wow I really need a battery on my bike." Not even here in Colorado!

I still ride an acoustic bike, often at Alafia… the guys on the emtb’s definitely get in more runs on the jump lines.. they zip back up and drop in 2 or 3 times more than me.. yeah I’m getting a work out buuut they’re getting more jumps in in a day than me, which gives them more experience. Also the sandy punchy climbs here will get ya.. I started mtb’n in Bentonville way back when, hated the weather and moved back to FL. you would be surprised with the terrain here, a lot of people think FL is flat everywhere and that’s not the case. I’ll just take a trip if want actual DH. All in all, it’s great to see people out on the trail enjoying themselves, regardless what kind of bike they’re on.
