Disgusting , didnt really answer why dont u live in china by choice. if you really want to connect to your root should stay closer rather than away

Why do you even care where I’m living in? What triggered you so much may I ask? The Chinese diasporas live outside of China for a variety of reasons, whether that is family, career or relationships. I have my own set of personal circumstances hence I’m in Australia at the moment. Oh FYI, I do want to live in China sometime down the track. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with living in China?

dumb f k, anyone can choose to live anywhere they like as long they can afford it and most importantly they are legally there. Just like any Caucasian, Indian, Black or whoever cant choose to live in Singapore or across anywhere in the world they choose to. Anyone who live anywhere does that mean they have to give up their thought completely and follow the sheeps?

I hardly see why or how anything he said is 'disgusting'. When he talked about australians telling him to go back to China, what I'd tell them is to go back to europe if they want to stay consistent with their own logic. Chinese people arrived in Australia about the same time english-speaking people arrived there. @BCKY Why you get so triggered? Why are you so insecure? Do you have trouble with your personal identity?

@@JulienTeyteau when you tell any anglo saxon to go back to europe they quickly fall silent 🤣 The colonizers dont have a homeland to go back to rofl. Also if someone tells me to go back to China, I would if it wasn't my responsbility to take care of my family here. Maybe when they pass away id go back myself 😆

I came across your channel and really liked your thinking. As a Chinese in the US I have excellent friends from Hong Kong. Thanks for your sharing in this more polarized globe.

Thanks for your comment! Unfortunately like what you said our world is getting more and more polarised, but hopefully when people build more understanding towards one another, these differences can be minimised (but this could just be my wishful thinking…)

I dont know how i got here . I have no ties to these problems but its great to hear a unique perspective of a unique problem . I wonder how this affected people like steven chow and his comedy because its like the most edgy comedy . If its possible to find something in china or if its unique to hk

This was a refreshing, coming of age perspective that is incredibly hard to hear from someone publically given your background. Moreso thought provoking to see the similarities with the experiences of Chinese born in the five eyes countries. Would you be interested in doing a collaboration to further this topic?

Your ancestral background is history, but your future is in your hand. You are free to shape your future as long as it is good for you and for people around you. You do not have to tie yourself to tradition.

Chinese? What kind of Chinese? The word Chinese ha been absusely used in all sort of ways. As a Cantonese Hong Kong, I do find it very offensive by some dimwits calling me Chinese. Hey, I am Cantonese by blood and heritage.
@JefflesChangy2 жыл бұрын
Good on you mate. Funny you said that the word Chinese has been abstrusely used, because while the Overseas Chinese population in Malaysia and Singapore do strongly identify with their cultural group (whether that is Hokkien, Teochew or Canto), but they still broadly refer themselves as Malaysian or Singaporean Chinese (華人) Nothing's wrong with being proud of your cultural group (hey I'm Canto too), but there's no need to get all offended when someone call you Chinese. You don't need to see that as an insult, it is just a general reference of people who can trace their roots from China and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

@@JefflesChangy Thant's you, not me. Don't care about other Malay or Chinapore. As a Cantonese Hong Konger I just find it utter offensive to be called "Chinese". As well, many "Chinese" don't really know what "Chinese" mean and what it really is. Nobody raise such questions. I prefer to uphold my Lingnan Cantonese - the authentic one, rather than the barbaric ones.

@@dawnnadir So, what do you call Singapore and Malaysia citizens whose ancestors are from Mainland China? What do you call Taiwan citizens (btw, the official name of Taiwan is Republic of China)?
@dawnnadir Жыл бұрын
@@sr3821 I would call them based on their origin and ethnicity. For example, Cantonese Malaysian or Hokkien Min Singaporean. Just by calling them Chinese this and Chinese that is very much lack of representation.
