GOD. i honestly miss when makeup on youtube was just about MAKEUP. Back when makeup tutorials were just starting up on youtube, the days when it was Michelle Phan and all the rising makeup artists who were real and humble. When videos were about teaching how to apply products, how to achieve different looks, tips and tricks, etc. The makeup community back then was all just about spreading beauty to the world and making people feel good about themselves with makeup. Gurus were actually good influences and role models to girls and guys both young and old who wanted to learn or pursue makeup. They were truly inspiring and when i was young i would watch all of Michelle's videos and i wanted to be just like her when I grew up. But nowadays makeup gurus are just fucking annoying with all the unnecessary drama and "exposing" and fakeness. I used to make a few videos here and there but stopped because i don't even want to be a part of this "beauty community" anymore when its just turned into a competition with backstabbing and drama... Even Michelle herself fell into depression in the past year because she herself felt like she couldn't keep up. Because of this, gurus and makeup lovers in general have such a bad rep now for being fake and conceited, and I actually hate it. And honestly its not even about spreading beauty positivity anymore, its just about who can be the best and the most perfect. Take a step back and see for yourself, how much of a negative change the community has gone in the past year. Gurus, especially "that one group" (you know who they are) are literally showing off their expensive life and high end products, getting plastic surgeries (not that plastic surgery is bad, but its literally like everyone now) getting into cat fights with other channels over the stupidest things, fake petty personalities, "spilling the tea" etc... its turned into a fucking war of who's the best and all this shit is ultimately detrimental to young girls and boys who are watching these videos and in the end growing up insecure and ashamed of their looks/body. so pretty much my little 2009-2011 girl dreams are crushed because of how vile and destructive this community has become.

Mmmkaaaaay, this is a bit too much 'conspiracy theory' for me. I'm not a Kylie fan nor have I ever used her products so I'm not writing this to defend her. However brands sending out items at different times makes sense for me. Especially a brand like Kylie's that sells out in seconds so obviously people will for sure be looking for reviews. Why send everything out at the same time and have most of the videos drop at the same day? I for one will probably only watch the first one that pops out in my notifications. In cases where the videos are spaced out I usually don't mind watching several reviews. And it's up to the brand to coordinate that, if they want to that is. Also I think pretty much everyone said the contour sticks were good as far as the formula. the only complaints I remember were about the quantity and in turn the prices. Plus the product looked good at least on camera.

Jeffree is loyal to Jeffree. He'll throw anyone under the bus, in a heartbeat, on a whim, just because. He's just not that deep. Although, he does seem miserably unhappy. Happy, fulfilled people don't need the kind of drama Jeffree seems to need to function. I really did like him and his channel at first, but the more I learned and watched, I had to leave. Left Tati as well. Just can't get behind his behavior or people who support it. No matter how talented and creative I think he is. His nasty habit of trashing and bashing others eventually turned me off as a fan. Also... he seems to go after black women quite frequently. He can say he's not a racist and make apology videos for days, but the behavior shows up, time and again. The best predictor of future behavior is a person's past behavior. Can't believe so many people support and follow him.
