The smell in his apartment must have been horrendous. I can’t imagine anyone tolerating that smell. The fact that the police knew is beyond me. I don’t know how they sleep at night. The grandma knew too. I believe the father saw red flags but it never went any further than that. If they had turned him in so many people would be alive today.

I wanna see this house on N. 25th Street in Milwaukee. I did read the book on this case; it only included a photo of the childhood home. And I don't think it was in Milwaukee? There is a really interesting interview with the dad taking about having dark thoughts himself but never being motivated to act on them and he blamed himself. It makes you wonder if there is some genetic factor. Or it could just be the dad wanted attention or just plain parental guilt. Also I think part of why he was famous was because he did answer so many of the hows and whys.

If any of y’all didn’t already know, Jeffrey was beaten to death by a fellow inmate while performing cleaning duty in prison. I really hope, unfortunately doubt that he did, but hope that he experienced some little bit of empathy in those last moments while he was being beaten the way he did to so many poor innocent men.

I've heard that when he had to have surgery for his double hernia as a small child his parents didn't tell him anything that was going on or explain any of the surgery to him. He had no idea they were even taking him to have surgery and that's why he was traumatized and changed afterwards

My dad had an apartment near and on the night Jeffrey was caught he drove past and was like ‘oh that’s weird why are all the police cars there’ and then he got into his apartment and turned on the tv to see if maybe there was a fire or something yknow um but long story short he didn’t sleep that night

Its important to note that his victims were mostly black men and he lived in a predominantly African American apartment complex. So the ladies that reported the young man were likely black women. And is a huge factor in why they dismissed them. Like "this white man with this young boy doesn't spark any concern" because of that race factor.
