Jeff. My dad started Redbud back in 1973.. He has passed 3 years ago. My step brother and sister run the track since my dad is gone. I rode the track back back when it was just grass.. I don't like how my step brother has laid out the track since. Some of thr old sections are still there tho.. I raced pro back in the late 70s .. Earned national number 74 one year.. Glad to see your riding something you like!!!.... Ray Ritchie....

Bro, if you don't catch the eye of one, or two sponsors....or don't get approached by a factory rep, I will be very surprised. The way you attacked the track with this brand new bike...you look so comfortable, and fast. You are definitely qualifying for Nationals this year. Can't wait to see you tear it up out there! Honda...great bikes, but you can't argue the physics of how much lighter the KTM is. And that they've been doing electric start longer. Even when everyone else claimed it would make it too heavy. Plus those brakes. Love the clutch too. I could go on, but I personally own 3 CRF's, but 5 KTM's...I'm happy to see you ride whatever suits you, but makes me smile a little more that it's a KTM.

Ben Farr true that and didn’t the Honda have the fastest lap time and I would like to see what he says about the CRF450RWE! He wants to compare a works edition to a standard edition, and honestly it didn’t look like he was riding very smooth on this bike, he couldn’t keep it in the ruts and it looked like it was hopping around way more then his Honda!!! And plus I’ve heard from almost everyone out there that those air forks are junk as hell and the only way to get the KTM to handle good on the front end is doing some kind of A-kit spring fork on the front!!! But time will tell!!

Yeah you gotta ride what it comfortable. No shame in KTM that is for sure. I always rode Honda too and will always like them, but KTM's are premiere bikes nowadays. Glad you found yourself .... now, you had good rhythm and speed but no L- leap ... why not? I remember the first time I went to that track in 92' and I was down around that corner after the downhill and could see these bikes off in the distance waaaaay up floating in the air and was like wooow what the hell was that (no I wasn't stoned). Of course I soon found out. My favorite outdoor track.

Something I found out almost immediately riding a KTM is how much power you can get out of the top end of the gear. you can really Rev the shit out of them.

It was never really like that. You used to be able to race as a teen as a privateer with only one parent working. Wake up, guys. USA is in trouble.

@@brianmorrison9066 Yep. Fortunately my parents did have some money to help me get started and that helped a lot. When I started racing in 1979 I was able to learn how to work on my own bikes and do rebuilds. I was taught how to do this by other kids who had been racing already and knew how to do it. Then you turn pro start winning local stuff and you start getting parts, gear, and bikes free. The problem today is most kids or parents can rebuild these 4 strokes and parts are super expensive compared to what it takes to build a killer 2 stroke. I actually raced 100% stock motors until I turned pro and I got sponsored by DG and they built it. Today it's just become way too much money to start racing at 15 and be competitive when the other kids who started out at 5-6 already have had full on factory rides for years.
