Here is a modification of a forty gallon Jegs parts cleaner. Out if the box parts cleaners are not very efficient, a few easy mods make these cleaners much better.

Thanks so much for doing this video. Awesome modifications ESPECIALLY putting it on the casters. Very nice, good job! Thank you!

Great work! I’ve seen so many with the filter on the outside of the cabinet and one comment on a video someone said “i put mine on the inside”. That sounded like a much better idea to me and then to see that you had done such a thing is great. I like the nozzle idea too. I might have to steal that for when I buy a 20 gallon parts washer

Saw Greater thank you, it made sense to me to put it on the inside for sure! Btw, after 6 months the blue nozzles started to get soft from the solvent. They are super cheap, so I figure it’s no big deal to change them as needed, but they do become limp after a while!

@@graffix What kind of solvent are you using?

I love the modification but you do realize with the filter mounted side ways when you un screw it all the contaminates grease dirt and metal will spill out and dump right into your clean solvent and contaminate the solvent. I would mount it up right on the out side of the tank so you get 100% filtration but I love what you did looks very nice

Here because I also couldnt find the features I wanted in a parts washer. Thanks so much for the ideas. You really should get an amazon affiliate account and put link sin description. I would buy the parts right now, as I bet many viewers would! Where did you snag the shelf?

I see the modification to the pump with the filters but why filter the output of the pump and and not the input? The input of the pump is where the filter should be so the junk washing down in the pan is caught before it goes to the pump.
@graffix3 жыл бұрын
The pump is a sump pump, it has a filter on it already, you can only use the cartridge filters on the output of the pump since the pump doesn’t suck through a pipe-type hole, it has to be submerged to get its suction. Now, if you where using an electric fuel pump, your idea would work great.

@@graffix Yes I understand how the pump you have works being an electrician for 34 yrs I have worked on a variety of pumps and motors over the years. To save a pump from going bad you want to filter the contaminants from going into it. Not after its been allready gone through it. Making a new bracket on the input side with a better filter would do way better. Also a magnet laying down where the solution drains down to the pan would also benefit the pump as well from getting metal contaminants. Have good day.

@@buchanansleeve7427 it would be - I completely agree. The pump I used was the inexpensive one that it came with, so I am not to concerned if I gotta change it out every few years. So far, it’s been 2+ years, haven’t had any issues. The magnet would be a nice cheap upgrade for sure. I think a good online fuel pump would be a good upgrade too - then you could probably have the suction power to flip the cartridge filter. But as they say, pumps always push further than they pull - hence the main reason most filter systems appear after the pump system. And a fellow sparky! That’s what I do as well, electrician. Thanks for the feedback and comment. You should build that filter system and post it, would like to see it as well. Have a good day too!

@@graffix I just so happen to have made my own parts washer. It's been working for the last 15 yrs on an electric fuel pump. I use a magnet out of an old speaker that is about 4 inches round and when the filter on pump gets clogged its easily replaced with 5 bucks at the local parts store. So your idea for the fuel pump is a good one.

Can you only use water based solvents with this unit? How do the water based solvents work compared to petroleum based? I just bought the same unit you have but thought it was for any solvent...
