JEGS Engine Stand Mods | ICT Billet Plate

A few mods to the JEGS engine stand. Stand needs some more work but that's how it goes. Using an ICT engine plate to get my BluePrint 400 crate motor on it. Enjoy

If you end up wanting another stand, many engine builders go with AXE Equipment engine stands. Pair that with one of those 36×24 5 or 6 shelf tall rolling metal carts (nice to have one for each engine) and 👍.

Is it possible to organize your videos so they are easier to find? In the Playlists section, could you make a folder for engine stands and another for the engine Run Stand?

I believe all my engine run stand videos are in one playlist. The other videos you want to keep watching should be put in a playlist you make for yourself.

I agree. The gearing on the crank and the shaft shouldn't be that sloppy. Made in jingling China I assume. If made here on the homeland they need to get their sh!t together. Anyway. Great video.

I am pretty sure that slop is in the shaft. It has a keyway and I think a bigger keyway or spacer will take that out. I can't do anything with the motor on the stand. I will post another video when I figure it out and fix it. This will be a good stand once I get it all worked out. It handles the small block easily. I got it for the big block or maybe even a diesel someday. The geared stands are hard to find now. I was looking for links and most have sold out.

I'd get grade 8 bolts for those spacers not those cheap ass chrome bolts

I’d use titanium bolts to reduce the rotating mass.

Harbor Freight came out with a Daytona version of this and it seems 10x better than this junk you had to modify because of stupid engineers the Daytona engine stand comes with through pins to hold the legs in and it has adjustable feet to really stabilize the engine and locking wheels.

​@mossman381 Sorry, but no. The Daytona stand is far superior in fit and finish to the ones Jegs and Summit sell. Even the packaging is far superior. Certainly, HF still has some substandard stuff for sale, but many of their products have been greatly improved.

@@perryneum Sorry but you are wrong. It looks like the Daytona stand has the same gear head. There is even a review that states the head has the same slop in the gears. I am guessing it is made in the same China factory.
