I love this version of this song! I wasn't a big fan of a lot of the stuff they did with some of the other songs, but this one was absolute magic! Their voices are incredible!

In Houston, this song stole the show. They did a WONDERFUL job, goosebumps and misty eyes for EVERYONE!!

That high belt a the end though Teal Wicks. Ugh, amazing. Love her to tears and was so pissed when the people behind me kept raving about Deborah. Teal was just as amazing if not better!

it's because she played Lucy, the one to play Lucy always gets more praise.

It sounds like the soft rock/pop cover version you would hear in the 90s during credits after you watched the original. Like the end of Pocahontas or something.

I just saw the show with this cast- they got rid of most of the oohing and aahing. There was a lot of overuse of smart lights and it took away from the acting, but overall it was a great show. It just opened up yesterday so there are still some kinks to work out, but I would definitely recommend going to see it.

Linda Eder should be horrified by this. Teal Wicks is a gem though.

Teal's voice is AMAZING in this, but Cox's voice is very good on the high notes, but others is ehhh I dislike how they made this sound more pop

although this is a great song and they do a nice job, I can't image sitting through this show with this cast, oohing and ahhing before the slow songs and Caonstantine sliding a third up to the pitch every time he wants to be dramatic. Update the show, fine, make it more pop, fine but be more creative than that.

I think individually both Teal Wicks and Deborah Cox are talented. Some of Deborah's notes were breathtaking, but in my opinion the song just didn't have the same magic that I think Christiane and Linda had, or Andrea and Colleen. The arrangement has a different vibe, and some of Deborah's other notes were a bit too breathy for my taste.

That was the problem with this production in general. They chose leads with voices that were incredible BUT whose vocal styles didn't fit the score or time period at all. All the riffing and extensive belting, while very impressive, just didn't make sense.

The best version is the 2nd UK Tour starring Marti Pellow (In His Eyes, sung by Sarah Earnshaw as Emma and Sabrina Carter as Lucy)

I lovelovelovelovelovelOVE the orchestration on this, but the voices don't sound right together. Cox is singing this is manner that's distinctly more pop than musical.

While they both have dynamic voices, Teal Wicks has what I would call a true Broadway sound while Deborah Cox sounds distinctly pop. Trying to blend the two doesn't sound harmonic, just clashing. Separately they'd probably sound fine, or if they both sounded pop. But together, it just doesn't work for me.

She was awful on stage the other day. All breath. No vibrato.
