Here's what I appreciate SO MUCH about this performance- He was so well coach vocally- he (and his coach) understood HIS voice, and didn't try to make it something it wasn't. He's a tenor, and while the song and orchestration remain the same- they shaped it to fit HIS voice and his youth. And it worked SO WELL. I've seen J&H probably 4-5x and everyone seems to be doing some version of Anthony Warlow's original recording (although Warlow never toured in it.) The best tour was first that began in Houston. Every other time I've heard it done live- they're over singing with this vibrato you could drive a truck through. It's distracting- especially the 20 second build at the end. Yikes. But this kid is tremendous! Good for him.

I don’t know if you already saw transformation of 2020. I think his voice matured and in this song you can see the improvement, although I must say his change from his Jekyll part to is Hyde was in this version my favorite because he seems so innocent as Jekyll and that made his Hyde even more sinister. But the confidence in his voice in this year gives us a new take on his Jekyll not more little innocent „über ich“ and ich ( to use Freuds words) that is afraid of his animalistic side. More a moral driven man 🤷🏻♀️ maybe I interpret too much in it 😂

Amazing high school production! I agree with a few others though that the piano needed to be toned down so it doesn't overshadow the singer. Now, this may just be the fact that it is being recorded from the audience area and the live production sounded different, but I can only gto on what I see and hear here.

Who is he? Someone please tell me! A voice like that needs to be known by name. I cried and that only happens when someone hits a sweet note and this kid fucking SLAYED this song. I’ve been trying to get my tenor range back but this is something I’ve never been able to do. In my past “Phantom of The Opera” or “Music Of the Night” was considered slightly difficult but no I can tell you with pure confidence that this is the hardest tenor song I’ve ever attempted. He’s incredibly good for a highschooler.

This is the time When the momentum and the moment Are in rhyme! Give me this moment This precious chance! I'll gather up my past And make some sense at last! This is the moment When all I've done: All of the dreaming- Scheming and screaming- Become one! This is the day- See it sparkle and shine- When all I've lived for Becomes mine! For all these years I've faced the world alone! And now the time has come To prove to them: I made it On my own! This is the moment My final test! Destiny beckoned- I never reckoned second best! I won't look down I must not fall This is the moment- The sweetest moment Of them all! This is the moment! Damn all the odds! This day or never I'll sit forever with the gods! When I look back I will always recall Moment for moment- This was the moment- The greatest moment Of them all!
