I'm so sad, I was so sick and wasn't able to hit the high notes at the performance. Coleen and Rob were so generous and wonderful to me... sigh

I would never have guessed. You have such an amazingly strong and clear voice, I have watched the available performances many times over and when you sing it appears so effortless, as if you are just speaking. I watch or listen to musicals daily, it is just part of my life and brings me so much joy. Since I don't get a chance to say this to performers, thank you for sharing your gift.

Andrea Rivette, oh wow, your comment made my day! I’m a bit of a Broadway geek, and you inspired me to read my Jekyll and Hyde playbills and play through the piano/conductor score. 😂 if you don’t mind, (and please don’t feel obligated to answer), I wondered if you ever met Mr. Wildhorn and if he was nice. He’s one of my musical heroes! Again, you made my day, and I just think you’re fantastic.

I wish there was a better version of Rob, Coleen and I too. The camera rehearsal video of the matinee was good but not mixed. Very raw. Plus, I was very aware that I was being filmed. I prefer this bootleg even though I was sick. The chemistry I had with Rob was very genuine and sweet. I love him. =)

@@singerAR0406 I noticed in the Hasselhoff film that there was instrumentation during certain scenes that I cannot find in any other bootleg. For example, during the scene where Utterson confronts Hyde, there is complete silence, but in the film there is background music. Was this all added in post-production?

I agree I watched the one where David Hasselholf where played as Jekyll and Edward Hyde on KZbin, I did not mind him playing as Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde but to me I think that he did a better job as Edward Hyde then as Henry Jekyll. Rob Evan that’s playing as Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde In this version I find him more believable as Henry Jekyll and terrifying as Edward Hyde. As Henry Jekyll I felt his embarrassment and abandonment when he asked the people of Saint Jude hospital to let him have a test subject to test his experiment on and they all of them said no so he became his own test subject and the nervousness when Lucy mentioned that Edward Hyde bit her on her neck I saw that he started sweating and almost fainted from shock and guilt when she mentioned that name and nervously asking her why did she come to him?. As Edward Hyde he felt free and he also killed the 4 scientists that embarrassed him as Jekyll and surprisingly were hypocrites. I would rather watch all of the other previous actors that played as Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde in Jekyll & Hyde over David Hasselhoff for some reason some people think that he did a great job as Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde I disagree because when I watched Jekyll & Hyde with him as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on KZbin, I did not like his version of Jekyll to me he was too full of it and annoying but his Hyde was awesome. David Hasselhoff is an awesome actor but a terrible Henry Jekyll.

Emma, played by Andrea Rivette (sp?), rocks my world. Her voice is simply exquisite. AMAZING. In Once Upon a Dream, and in the duet In His Eyes. WOW.
@jessicazeller80605 жыл бұрын
T She is incredible! Although, I get the feeling that she was not in best voice for this performance because she doesn’t sing Emma’s high notes in her duets (Take Me As I Am and In His Eyes) and in the finale, merely wimpers instead of screams when Hyde grabs her.

@@jessicazeller8060 jessica you are 100% correct. I was very ill during this time. I was misdiagnosed with a thyroid condition for many months. (Grave's disease). I watch this at least once a month. And I prefer this version to the other available. Given the age, and the fact that is a bootleg I think it's really well shot and the sound is pretty darn good. I wish there was an album with these three, they're my favorite. I have such a fondness for Andrea's voice, it's so ...effortlessly angelic. Coleen really wow'd me, I would've loved to see how she would have done "bring on the men" but I personally love Good & Evil, esp. her version. Rob is an absolute powerhouse, I got to watch a recording of him doing Beethoven's Last Night as well. His voice is so wonderful!

I love how in Act 2 when Lord Archie, Lady Beaconsfield, and Lord Savage are leaving from a charity event and you can clearly see that they could care less about this event and what’s even more amusing is that they did not even notice that Mr. Hyde was standing right in front of them and was listening to their conversation this whole time until he says “Well,well, if it isn’t faith, hope, and charity!. Then they noticed him .

Every time I see someone post about Coleen in this show, they say Linda ran rings around her. But if they saw this version they'd realise that just wasn't true. Coleen has an incredible voice! She hits those notes like they're nothing. I loved her in the one with the Hoff but in this one her voice sounds so much stronger. I wish people could hear this one so they could stop being so damn rude
@jessicazeller80606 жыл бұрын
Little Dreamer That is completely unfair for people to make those comparisons. Linda and Coleen are both great. They bring something different to the role. I prefer Linda’s voice, but Coleen is the better actress, IMO. I like them both!
@brinmoody5 жыл бұрын
@@jessicazeller8060 Linda wasn't acting hardly at all, cause Frank Wildhorn wrote and shaped Lucy around her personality thus meaning she didn't have to really act at all cause Linda wasn't an actress prior. Lucy is Linda. I love Coleen as Lucy, as she has more energy, and yes, I agree, Linda is vocally better. So Coleen (who is still amazing vocally) wins overall, Linda for vocals.
@jessicazeller80605 жыл бұрын
Alex Song Yeah, I know that.
@JulietteVeronica12015 жыл бұрын
Alex Song I have to agree tbh. To me, it’s not about the vocal range or how strong your voice is when it comes to Broadway. I personally think it is shaping the character to real life and living in it on stage. Coleen did a better job since she was the better actress.

Just seeing this makes me wish they used Rob Evan for the Direct To Broadway release. He definitely fits the roles of Jekyll & Hyde to a t unlike David Hasselhoff.
@rachelnoble55403 жыл бұрын
Mr. Hyde killed Lucy for two reasons the first one was out of jealousy because he wanted her all for himself and the second reason is that he was already unstable mentally and he knew that she was lying and he felt that she was going to abandon him.

Why the hell was this not the filmed DVD version? Rob Evans was spot on. Hasselhoff- mediocre singing and overacting. It annoys me that they did not film Rob Evans and turn it into the DVD. What a waste- Hasselhoff! Rob Evan knows what side his bread is buttered on. Hasselhoff- gave it the good ol' college try, but didn't come close to making the team.
