Definitely!! All the Women as far back as my Great Mother, and probably more were all Alcoholics. They all died early. My Mom got Sober at 40, she's 79 and 39 years sober. Almost 40. I haven't had a drink in almost 7 years. We broke the cycle, so far.

Go listen to Save Me - either his original cut or the one with Lainey Wilson. When he released the original video, he was at a turning point. He and his cowriters wrote it on Saturday, recorded Sunday, shot the video Monday, and uploaded Tuesday, never expecting much. That song pretty much rocketed him into the spotlight. On one radio interview (which is here on KZbin somewhere), when asked what he credited his meteoric cross-genre rise to, he unequivocally said Save Me,” then went on to explain why. There is also an eponymous documentary about him and the song “Save Me” put out by CBS in partnership with Hulu - well worth the watch.
