Hi just found your channel because I'm trying to take on an acid wrap 6 foot light jigging rod. I believe I've got it figured out but glad to get some tips before the guides go on.

I use 0, 60, 120, then 180 for most jigging rods that I have been doing. I tried the 0, 90, 180 method and it didn’t go so well. Ended up cutting 2 guides loose and redoing them.

Love the vid mate . Just purchased my first spiral wrapped rod and love it . Can i ask , if i want to convert a two piece spinning rod into a casting rod and have it spiral wrapped , What happens with regards to the spine of the rod . Do i have the spine running on the top of the bottom section (reel and grip end ) and the spine running on the bottom of the top section of the blank ?

Spine really doesnt make too much a difference, however it will if you dont spiral wrap a 2 piece. I say go for it.

When you gonna spin up the Spec Ops Sunday chats? They were roaring! Bring em back. NY Prepper should be a guest.

Man I wish we had something in the works, until we creep up to 1000 subs we can't even go live. Also we are getting super busy with the rods and I don't know if we'd have time.

Can heat weaken a rod if it's not enough to discolor
@JelsmaOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Yes, but temp has to be pretty high. If its too hot to touch then its too hot.

Hi. I have a question regarding the 1st guide. The 0deg angle is for the guide or the line coming from the reel? If the guide sits on 0deg angle, then the line would be sitting slightly towards the twist. If we want the line to have a straight path on the 1st guide, the guide would be slightly offset opposite the twist... I ask this because all conventional reels were design to have a straight flow of line coming in, as a slight tilt to the sides might unbalance the roll on the spool.. maybe it doesn't make a different... What do you think?

You can adjust up to 10 degrees either side for the first guide if you are having feeding issues. Most level wind reels does not make a difference, however with large convetional reels where you will be thumbing the line so you will want the first guide 10de grees twords the rotation, hope that helps.

@@JelsmaOutdoors thanks for the advice. Im thinking to try the spiral guide for my offshore bottom fishing rod with electric reel. Is spiral guides suitable or unsuit for the constant load usage? That does require all the guides to be repositioned as all rods designed for electric reels have the guides sitting on top. I was also hoping to have my stiff rod to be slightly soft on the tips with less and lighter guides.... Will it be a good idea to do spiral or a bad one instead?

45+45=90 so isn’t the 3rd eye at 90 to the 1st eye?
@JelsmaOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
3rd guide is at 135
@carloadapimps68702 жыл бұрын
that's a full 90 deg difference between the 2nd and 3rd, why not go 60 instead?
