What's interesting is comparing them to *Augments,* which were created with far less advanced technology. Khan could slaughter one easily, now imagine if humanity hadn't become genetic engineering phobic after WW3, but had advanced the science and worked out the megalomania and increased aggression bugs - which were due to a faulty brain transmitter, not being superhuman. So 21st century human genetic engineering was superior to the Jem'Hadar … (except for that one psychological glitch). In fact genetically engineered humans were far superior to any other species genetic engineering efforts - just look at Julian Bashir, the stats he had improved (he didn't get everything upgraded, and he was poor starting material, which was the point) made him vastly better than any alien in that area - perfect memory of DNA charts he saw years ago, able to throw a bullseye every time without effort. [And according to some beta canon, the cloaking ability was a invasive technological implant that only worked when the Jem'Hadar was calm, so they couldn't be cloaked in combat (imagine if a Vulcan had one fitted, or they just learnt Vulcan mental discipline… yeh, no)].

I don't know where else to put this so I'm going to put it here. In the Voyager episode Retrospect, Janeway is in the mood for some new firepower so Voyager rolls on up to the local arms dealer. They go to the trouble of fitting and test firing an "isokinetic cannon" and everyone is suitably impressed. Shenanigans then ensue and the arms dealer ends up dead, so why does the cannon get removed after the episode ends never to be heard of again. Given the local authorities views on the importance of trade with aliens I find it unlikely that they would have insisted on the cannon being returned. Bonus question, do you think the "memories" of the events that 7 of 9 recovered really happened to her or not? By the end of the episode everyone, 7 included has dismissed them as false but as I recall during his investigation the Doctor did find evidence of a memory block in 7's brain.

They are basically living weapons with virtually no sense of autonomy & they are completely dependent on the White, except for those that somehow broke that “addiction “. So purely warrior culture aside, it’s not like they can survive long independent of another sentient species to facilitate their development. Does the Federation attempt to “rehabilitate” them somehow or are they just left to their own devices to die or survive on their own? Or do the Founders retain control of them, but with the stipulation that they demilitarize them somehow?

As an African American, I've always had a level of sympathy for the Jem' Hadar--they do have deep code of ethics as pure warriors (but that level just may have been bred in them). I don't think it was a coincidence that most of the actors that portrayed them were African American or other POC. The producers of DS9 (especially DS9) made many episodes concerning race and racism, and may have been telling something about how the real world treated people who subjected to enslavement either had to "embrace' the belief systems of their enslavers or face obliteration by those same slavers, Great vid!

The idea of being "already dead" is a commonly heard thing among real war vets. Many would say the only way to deal with combat is to know you already dead, and that knowledge liberates you to do what needs to be done to win a war. The creators of DS9 obviously took that idea and ran with it in the Jem'Hadar

Referencing Evolution when it comes to a species that not only believes in creation, but their Gods literally walk among them. Fascinating

This all got me to thinking of different combinations of encounters in battle. How would the Jam Hadar fare against the Borg? How would the shapeshifting founders stand up to the Borg ? What would Dax and her symbiant become if assimilated ? Curious combos would be Borg and Gorn, Borg and Wesley Crushers phase shifting traveler friend, Borg and Cptn. Archers nemesis, the ceiling crawling camo skinned guy. How about Borg and the Augments or Kahns people. But what I think would be the best storyline for any Star Trek movie would have to be the Enterprise first meeting Dr. Who, then Dr. Who vs Q, then Dr. Who and Picard vs the Borg ! What do you think? If we are crossing series then Starfleet vs The Wraith or Wraith vs the Borg would be one for the ages! Which brings to mind a question, why did the Federation not design or equip fleets of ships with Holographic crews like the EMH doctor was on Voyages? You can't assimilate a hologram. But then in ALL Star Treks why was transporter technology not used as a weapon ??? The possibilities are endless.

any chance we could get some stargate races like the Goa'uld

I think it's worth mentioning that the Jem'Hadar will become mutinous if the Ketra-cel white isn't provided. This shows a deeper, more base level understanding of who they are as living beings that, when threatened with starvation, their loyalties go out the window.

I have a question who would win a Jem'Hadar or a Predator, if it was 1 vs 1, i know they are from different universe but i wonder who is stronger since they have similar ideologies

As far as I know, "Honored Elders" among the Jem'Hadar are considered too important to be used lightly, and are used to train other Jem'Hadar or lead squads or commando teams on the most crucial missions or as military advisors on campaigns or important projects. There was one such Elder acting as a Mentor and Trainer to the Alpha Jem'Hadar(who he thought were to impetuous and lacked patience and discipline), as well as one training recruits at that prison/training compound. I'm surprised that one Vorta casually killed one, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were reprimanded or even executed for squandering such an asset.

Did the Vaaduar have any alpha-canon presence beyond one episode? They seem central to STO but I don't remember much about them.

Easy to answer your last question. For admin Dominion rullers had Vorta. Once peace and order was established they would simply withdraw the supply of white and maintain only small detachments. If it takes only 3 days to rise a new army why would one bother to supply the enormous demands of large numbers of JemHaddar?

Race recommendation the Vidians. A Delta quadrant race whose whole culture was forced to center around the treatment of a disease that was killing them.

Here's a fan theory: the Jem'Hadar are an offshoot of Tosk. They wanted to become better warriors because they were being hunted by the Hirogen. "Captive Pursuit" was an example of the order the Dominion has imposed on the gamma quadrant - a Hirogen subspecies hunting a Jem'Hadar subspecies as a game, with the Omarion nebula strictly off limits to keep them from posing any danger to the Founders.

The Dominion is meant to be a foil to the Federation. The Vorta and Jem'Hadar being genetically engineered slave races is the antithesis of the Prime Directive. The Federation came out of a combination of human ingenuity, Vulcan practicality, Tellarite diplomacy, and Andorian military might. The Vorta play a similar role to the Tellarites, and the Jem'Hadar to the Andorians.
