Hull and Back | NO cameras allowed

Come with me for a load out of Hull to the south west of England, I'm not allowed to film on site but I do learn lots about what they do where I load from. Then I do a local export load but loading on the boat is different to what I've shown before

Then all you girl truckers on or off tube need to get together and make it clear in uncertain terms to the truck stop owners about this serious problem. Well said about the services. I drive nights and most places have little open to the point where I try to be self sufficient. Even had some places where the toilets are locked " for security" . Great content thanks for uploading

You women and men are so important to any economy. I really believe services to commercial drivers are lacking where you are from. My sympathies. My brother is a commercial driver here in Canada🇨🇦. There are service stations that cater to truck drivers, with an attendant to ensure the washrooms/showers are sanitized after each use, plus fresh towels!! Electronic keys for entry , which of course expire after the washroom facility is used!!! Of course, that is not always the case. There are scummy stations , unfortunately!!! Enjoy your channel!!!

Hi Gemma, you are so right about the services. I work nights. You can’t get anything at the services apart from an over priced sandwich at night. I remember in the late 90’s stopping at a French truck stop in Roye where the locals would bring their families in at the weekend as the food/buffet was so great. That wouldn’t happen here. You’d need a mortgage to pay for it. Keep up the good work. 😎

Hi Jemma, your channel came to me as a recommendation from KZbin and I’m glad it did. You’re delightful, with a happy disposition. And you wear your heart on your sleeve as shown in this video. Don’t worry, here in Australia, the service stations aren’t that much better, but for someone to, in essence, shrug their shoulders and say I don’t know where the key is is downright appalling. I’m envious of your reversing skills, especially on your blind side, you put many drivers to shame. Your driving appears to be of a very high standard, your commitment to your job is beyond reproach, and the standard to which you look after your truck is benchmark and that is commendable. Another great video Jemma 👍 I remember during COVID I got a load of fertiliser and the driver told me how hard things were as they weren't getting allowed to use some facilities. As a farmer I know exactly how important truck drivers are and the way you're treated in this country is a utter disgrace. It should be the law that service stations have to have a decent standard to make life decent for truck drivers. Maybe then we wouldn't be so short of drivers that do a vitality important job for the country. I believe the continental services are much better. I like you telling us about your hours as it puts it in context why you have to stop and the hours you can work. Take care 😊

Of course there was absolutely no requirement to close facilities, covid is primarily airborne and certainly not water borne. The masks were useless too as far as covid is concerned. They will stop dust or most of it, but don't work against viruses.

Great video! The cooking part is a nice touch and an inspiration to others on the road. trouble is: not all trucks are fitted with a microwave and fridge. I know some truckers who take their own microwave and inverter. Surely in this day and age sleeper cabs at least should be fitted with a cassette type toilet and compact wash basin as some compact caravans. Yes, I agree a lot of truckstop services shower facilities leave a lot be desired.

Thank you! yes I am very lucky to have a truck with a microwave a fridge. I know a lot of companies who pay for services say that they don't provide as the driver can get a meal voucher in the services but not only is service station food generally unhealthy I think a fridge and microwave is not a lot to ask for with the working hours expected of a driver. I get the shower toilet issue is a space and cleanliness thing as the cab is quite small and is also your bedroom and kitchen

Good Chinese Takeaway 5 minutes from where you parked up. Deliveroo available but cash only. The best Chinese in the area. Vivergo no doubt with the security on the SALTEND site. That refinery at the start is indeed very pretty lit up. I assume security is always tight in places like this. Although I'm not a truckie, I can understand why you were so angry at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="295">4:55</a>. These roadhouses are usually bad in every country, especially for truck drivers. I'm sure it wasn't a good feeling you couldn't shower there. I've been in England only once, so I don't know your country at all. I really like the small villages and towns you're driving through. And the ports are really spectacular everywhere. The weather was typical British all day, which is not surprising this time of the year I guess. Great vlog as always Jemma, it's so good we can enjoy your adventures every Saturday. Instead of wasting money on HS2 which will only benefit the few they should of spent the money on the infrastructure of motorway better services for truck Drivers and other commuter's which in turn will make truck driving look more appealing to people the lack of services in the UK is disgusting. You Truck drivers are the back bone of Britain and the world there isn't one person in the uk who doesn't have something in their homes which wasn't delivered by a lorry. Something needs to be done about the services! I would start by contacting the companies that run the services and get together with a few of the other trucker youtubers and approach them in numbers! That rice sounds nice going to have to try that.
