Jen Shah surrenders to the federal prison camp in Bryan Texas today for 6 1/2 years or 78 months.
When Jen reached out to our team, she expressed a number of goals or aspirations for her looming prison sentence, including creating a record that documents how she is responding to problems that she alone created.
From our first call, we were encouraged by her willingness to learn and do the work. That work included asking her to consider how the stakeholders (case manager, warden, Judge, probation officer, and future business partners) perceived her. Only then could Jen create a realistic plan.
Part of Jen's initial "homework", was learning from the various subject-matter experts we have interviewed through Prison Professors Non-Profit, including:
Leaders of US probation,
The Federal Bureau of Prisons,
US District Court Judges, and
Prosecuting attorneys.
Each subject-matter expert we interviewed expressed the importance of a release plan. They want to see a record that shows positive ongoing efforts for change, showing a person’s commitment to preparing for success upon release.
Jen embraced the message and she invested the time to create a plan with clear goals and deliverables: the plan encourages people to track her progress and hold her accountable.
In this video, Jen and I discuss:
Her release plan and the process to create it with Michael Santos
Why it took one year for her to accept responsibility.
What are her plans in federal prison?
What are her plans after her release from federal prison?
What is her message to the doubters and skeptics?
and more.
If you have questions about our work, please email JP@WhiteCollarAdvice.com or text/call 818-424-2220.

Haven’t you ever told a lie and then started to believe it yourself? I know I have. It’s not the untruth- it’s when you start to BELIEVE it that it becomes almost impossible to let go of the lie. The fact that she has even been able to take that step is something that most people will never do. They’re not capable. Once you’ve gone down the path of starting to actually believe your lies it’s a miracle when somebody is able to reverse that course and go back up the hill. What would you prefer? Would you prefer if she kept saying she was innocent? Would you be calling it BS then? It seems like she can’t win- if she says she’s innocent she’s “full of crap”, if she says she’s guilty she’s “full of crap”. I for one am willing to give her a chance. Why don’t you withhold judgment and see what happens? At least give her one chance to make good on her word. Otherwise you’re basically saying she’s damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t, and that is truly not fair.

Define Justice within our justice system that doesn't serve the right kind Justice it's kind of hard to acknowledge . There they went and put her in a resort of prisons so-to-speak the one she wanted to go to. I mean how does that work out since when can we request where we want to go LOL? Then, now they're saying she's talking about a substance abuse issue. She's always abusing something and now it's not a substance abuse issue which he spoke about alcohol and depression over two years ago. She's abusing the system trying to utilize their drug program which will allow her to get out 12 months earlier. Of course she was doing her homework online watching these videos that tell her all about what it is she can do to get out earlier to get more time shaved off of her sentence. What she said was she didn't have any victims. And clearly she just trying to hurry and get back to her family which does make sense as anybody want to do that but she's more focused on that than anything and not focused at all on the victims. I'm tired about hearing about herand not about the victims. Here it is yet again just like when she's on TV she's talking about how she had a suicide attempt and she only brought it up whenever her friends were facing her and talking to her about how she treats them and her response was it to own up to it but instead she gave an excuse and her excuse was to use a suicide attempt so that people wouldn't continue on with the conversation they were having so that she can address how she treats people and instead she derailed the conversation. Yet again focuses on her and what's so funny about it is that she's talking about how the stress of everything has made her have a possible suicide attempt and not once has she or her family or anybody surrounding her talked about how she's just one person talking about how things affected her but what about everybody else, what about EVERYBODY else which are so so many people and what about the stress she has put upon them, emotionally, financially, everything?which then puts stress on their family members and friends because they see that their family member is down. I mean did it ever occur to her that because of the financial stress that has been put upon them that maybe they could have a suicide attempt? Has it ever occurred to her that maybe just maybe other people have been affected to the point where they are having a hard time holding on? She doesn't address that. And the only time you hear about her apparently being sorry and wanting to start over and to move on, it's whenever her lawyer or her husband is saying it for her. Which means it's not coming directly from her mouth. In fact the only things we hear coming directly from her mouth is when she's doing things like saying yeah I don't have victims, this is been so hard on me and my family blah blah blah. Which everybody knows and it's been so hard on her family because of her. So here it is she's opening up to the fact that she needs to take accountability but it's only because she's been caught and she's only stressed because she's being taken away from her family but what about the life she has put on everybody else? So so so much focus has been put on Jen and her family to the point where it has taken away from all of her victims. Has anybody considered the fact that so many times often we all know and hear about the fact that there are many people that I've committed suicide because of their financial woes. It affects them emotionally etc. What about other people?I mean just to prove all of this I mean there was an article just recently with her crabbing about how she may not be able to get back on the housewives show after it's all said and done and how come Teresa Giudice got to and how come she's being treated differently? I mean I don't know look at what she's focused on still LOL. And I mean I don't know the fact that she considers herself and her situation like Teresa Giudice goes to show where her brain is at. Jen isn't like Teresa Giudice she was more like the Joe in the situation which was Theresa's husband. Notice how she wants to get back on the show and be more like Teresa but she's not wanting the other part of Teresa's life which includes the fact that Theresa's children can't even live in the same country in the United States with their father. Here it is Jane is acting like Teresa Giudice has it all good and her family is all great and gravy just because she's gotten back on the show but she has forgotten the wood one most important thing, family family family. Her kids can't even be with their father United States LOL for crying out loud.so Jen wants to be able to be back on the show, stay in the same country and her husband is staying the same country. She wants to be able to be in a resort of prison so to speak. She wants to talk about having this fixed substance abuse disorder so that she can shave time off when is this whole saga going to end and when is there really going to be Justice served? So when we talked about Justice, let's really address this and be real. They aren't trying to serve up real justice, it's a crock. First and foremost everybody knows she should have received more time and even the time that she did get witcha six-and-a-half years, everybody knows she's not even that full amount. On top of the fact that she's already full amount, she's going to try to get even more time shaved off of the lesser time that she's going to get anyway. She is not sorry guys. She's sorry she got caught. She's sorry that her family has had to go through it all. She's sorry that she has to be away from her family. Yeah it makes a lot of sense to put her in a place with a bunch of other white collar crime people who can then just come up with other ideas together and brainstorm more ways to screw people over. Yep notice how she's really trying to fix things I mean even this last season she was on still always getting her makeup done as they refer to it as "glam". Notice how she still getting her nails done? Notice how she tries to walk around and act like she's not spending money when they're on their trips or that she's not the one paying for things when there's little parties. Notice how she had to pay back over $10,000 for her husbands b day party. You know what she thinks that she's doing good because she didn't spend $80,000 on his birthday party like she had previously.$80,000 of money that wasn't hers and that was from everybody else that she stole from. I mean ohhhh yea let's go with a narrative that she's truly sorry and trying to make it better. If anything the only people she try to make it better for a little bit is with herself and her family and even then she's not even doing what you should do with her family because people who are broke and you have messed up to the degree she has wouldn't be getting their freaking nails done they wouldn't be paying to get their freaking makeup done. They wouldn't be taking $10,000 out of their pocket for a flipping birthday party. And her excuses is that ohhh well im going to be in prison so we want to do it up before I go. Really she's always done it up. The only difference is like I said she can't spend eighty thousand and instead she spends ten thousand. I mean that $10,000 should have stayed with her family. Or what about the people that she went around to begging for money because she couldn't cover her lawyer cost or anything else or what about the money she's gotten from her mother and her family members or just anybody? And you want to spend $10,000 on a freaking birthday party? This is NOT somebody who's truly trying to move forward and do the right thing. This is somebody who's putting on yet again another facade! I mean good grief when does this stuff end with her? Why do her co-workers and everything else and Andy Cohan and everybody else tiptoe around it the truth? Why don't they not just ask the basic questions about her pleading guilty. They know that she's going to say oh I can't answer these questions now, but if you want to record me about all this thick stuff in my life you can but I'm not going to vocally say that I messed up and say this is what I did word for word saying what she actually did. She's not going to say what she did and how she did it. She just want to say I want to move on & she doe say it!

I think there are 2 purposes of going to prison. The first purpose has more to do with protecting society from these people's dangerous activities by putting them in a cell. If she was free she would still be scamming seniors! The other reason is for these people to think about what they did wrong and do prison labor. Admitting guilt / taking full accountability usually comes with time. Anyone saying they take full accountability at a sentencing hearing is really just asking for less time in prison not that they really take full accountability

A release plan is premature because she needs to first understand what she has done to others. This is total narcissistic behavior. I’m sure she threw plenty of money at you, Justin , for this program. That money, and every other dollar should go to her victims. She is not selfless whatsoever. She is not a Muslim in any respect. Jen Shah is clearly no dummy, but i believe her when she says she just wasn't processing her guilt for such a long time. Denial and culpability is very powerful defense mechanism that is not easy to crack thru, especially after you have rationalized, looked the other way, and convinced yourself that you've done nothing wrong. I'm sure her true "remorse" is probably still a little insincere at this point, but I like she is now on record for taking accountability and making the victims whole. There's no going back now. If she plays her cards right, she can make millions .., see Exhibit A: Teresa Giudice.

I disagree. The feds do NOT get involved until YEARS AFTER there have been numerous complaints, investigations, and lawsuits filed and that takes years. No one could possibly not know they are doing something illegal when they have went through these investigations, lawsuits, and complaints from 2012 to 2021. In fact she took measures to try to hide her involvement. This is from the court's website: "SHAH was not deterred by the Federal Trade Commission’s investigations or enforcement actions, nor by learning that dozens of her co-conspirators had been arrested by federal law enforcement, pled guilty for their roles in the scheme, and that two were convicted at trial. SHAH was not ignorant of these developments: she took a series of increasingly extravagant steps to conceal her criminal conduct from the authorities. She directed others to lie, she put businesses and bank accounts in the name of others, she required payment in cash, she instructed others to delete text messages and electronic documents, she moved some of her operations overseas, and she tried to put computers and other evidence beyond the reach of investigators. These efforts were not short-lived or narrow in scope. She engaged in a yearslong, comprehensive effort to hide her continued role in the scheme."

@@cjking4511 Yes, I get all that, but you're changing the narrative. We know she's guilty and SHE knows she's guilty. I was merely commenting on her explanation of why it took so long for her to admit guilt.
@cjking4511
@cjking4511 Жыл бұрын
@@snarkyenigma9219 But you know the reason why it took so long for her to admit guilt. She had an attorney the whole time. NO criminal attorney is going to advise their client to plead guilty until AFTER a plea deal is offered! Most criminals plead NOT GUILTY initially because if you plead guilty then you are going to stay in jail until sentencing! These people want to go home to their families and hope for the prosecutor to offer them a plea deal eventually. Don't fall for this fake Jen act! You have common sense, you have intelligence, and you have knowledge of other court cases so it is not reasonable to think someone as vile as Jen would ever plead guilty voluntarily in the absence of a plea deal. This has nothing to do with delusion. If you commit a crime (or crimes) you are not oblivious or forgetful of what you did because what you did was certainly not easy to do and she was clearly stressed out all the time on the show (likely because of the ongoing FTC investigations and lawsuits that were going on way before the FBI began investing her).
@snarkyenigma9219
@snarkyenigma9219 Жыл бұрын
@@cjking4511 You raise well though out and valid points. I guess time will tell. Oh, I was going to mention, so many people (like Asswipe Andy) feel so betrayed by Jen for her sudden guilty plea. They just don't get that pleading guilty is nothing more than a legal tactic/strategy. In Jen's case, it simply meant less jail time which at the time seemed seemed eminent. Of course, this isn't to suggest that Shah is not literally guilty as sin in committing the crimes which she was convicted of.

No judge would “say she cannot make money off for crimes.” People frequently misinterpret that fact. And she’s not making money off her crimes anyway. Additionally, Bureau of Prisons policy allows prisoners to write manuscripts or write, including on a website. I wrote on my website every day in prison-I sent the blog home and my mom added it to my site. Now, there’s email in prison.

I'm a little late to RHSLC and going down this rabbit hole but I just want to commend you, sir, on the work you are doing. I absolutely LOVED this interview. I obviously come in with my own opinions and bias of this woman as we all do. All though I am not a fan of this woman I see that you are meeting her where she is at. People can say how can you help someone like this or you're not being hard enough on her. But I can see that you've been there, and maybe not in her exact situation, and your are trying to fill our world with good works. I love how you comment with people that time will tell. We can all hear her saying the exact thing everyone says when they are going to jail like I'm going to have my religious books and help others. But I can see you know she's not there yet and can't really help others unless she digs deep and does the work herself. But you aren' t judging her for that and just have HOPE that she will get there on her own and with the plan (which is really self-help therapy). Even if only a few are able to get there and put out good into our world I am happy for this. Even if they aren't what we call "good people". People can be "bad people" on the inside and do good for others and "good people" can have all of the best intentions and hurt everyone around them. Sometimes they get there not in the way we think they should but if good comes out of it then I think this is a good thing! Keep it up! I know people probably say that you haven't changed as well and are just profiting off of all of this. And maybe there is some truth to that in a way but it doesn't matter. What matters is your actions and putting one foot in front of the other, building brick by brick with the intention of a new life and a new way to keep on going with your life for your family. I'm sure that options are limited after prison. We make choices in every thought and every step and I think you chose well! This interview has changed my perspective on somethings regarding all of this so thank you again.

It's all about her yet again...not her victims. It's so funny because I was watching a KZbin video right before this one about what is called club Fed. I'd only heard about it recently in about how Jen was trying to go to the same place as Elizabeth Holmes, to the federal Bryan camp prison. In what I found kind of funny was yet again yet it here it is again she's trying to get the easy way out and minimize her role and things by going to a place that is known as a club Fed type place or a resort for prisons compared to so many other prisons. She's more worried about herself than she is about her victims. On the show she talks about how considered taking her own life and she said at a time where she didn't want to take take accountability for the way that she's treating her friends which was very bad btw. She always says things at a convenient time and what struck me was the fact that she brought it up but never once has she ever talked about the fact that here it is he's talking about her self which is one single person and not once has she in reference to the fact that what she has done made an impact on so many people and everybody knows that whenever there is such financial pressure on people that it can lead them to a state of depression which then can make them want to take their own lives. Did she ever sit back and think about the fact that so many people could be suicidal bc of what she did to them? Of course she's not thinking about that. Noticed how every time you hear that apparently she's wanting to move forward and do the right thing and that she's so sorry, you either hear that through her lawyer or her husband. But anytime you ever hear her talk it's her saying she doesn't have any victims & she's talking about herself and how things are hard for her and her family. But she doesn't reference anybody else which does not sound like a person who truly trying to move forward. A person who's trying to move forward is it just trying to become a better person for themselves or their family, their trying to become a better person all around in general and it has to start with your victim's. Recognizing on saying out loud what it is that you have done without lying. Without trying to control the narrative to make yourself sound good. I stated that I had watched one of the other video prior to this video and it was about club Fed just because I wanted to do a little bit of research on the articles I was reading about her wanting to go to federal Texas Bryan camp prison. And I'm watching the video I'm seeing how the person who's doing the video was somebody that had already previously served the time and they were getting advice as to help people can lessen their time and get out earlier and he was giving advice. One thing he said was that people can get into a some kind of drug program in prison which can lessen their time 12 months and then he mentioned another thing that can lessen their time another 12 months. And as soon as I saw that it made me remember the article that I had just read about her a day or two prior which was talking about suddenly about how she said that she has a substance abuse issue. Which nobody has heard about out of everything that's been told about her and heard about her this whole time, now her lawyer suddenly said that she wants to address a substance abuse issue LOL. But then they say oh it was alcohol and depression that was two years ago that was the issue. They also said that they recognize that some people try to make things up to try to become a part of our program so that they can get out 12 months earlier. I mean it just goes to show that she's always out for herself per usual and always working on a plan! So is this somebody who's really trying to answer for their crimes and somebody who's really trying to do their time and come out as a better person? Or is this somebody who's having to speak up a little bit about something without telling the whole truth because they were caught and is trying to get out of it as much as they can? I think it's the latter! Of course she didn't want to do an interview with Andy Cohen because they wouldn't revise the contract that she had done with bravo. She wanted to be able to control the narrative. So you can see here how she is able to control the narrative. She doesn't want to be able to answer questions whenever it comes down to telling the truth about what she has done and giving details etc. This whole video it's sickening talking about how she scared she's the she's that and her family and this and that. WHAT about EVERYBODY ELSE? What about everybody else that she absolutely devastated and what about their mental health and what about their financial well-being? What about their families and the people that love them? Are they okay and do they have enough food to eat, are they able to pay their bills? For once can people address her victims and speak about them. For once can people stop acting like they're just going to accept whatever she puts out there which is a load of crap once can she for real at least start to be a decent human being like she claims that she's going to do and buy that happening that means she needs to come out and say you know what I messedup. It happens with all this in the world in one way or another. But I want to address this and I want you to fix this and it starts with me saying out loud what I did. I have victims I have so many victims and I have hurt them so badly. I've heard them and I hurt their families. I put them in a financial right, I can't even imagine where their mental status has been, not just for one year and not just a few years but where they will be for the rest of their lives. Has any of them considered suicide or has any of them actually committed suicide? Why are people tiptoeing around this? I know why because so many people on this Earth only care whenever their own family or somebody they love is being affected and there's not enough people out there that actually give a damn about everyone. I don't just imagine a situation for myself I imagine it for everybody else too. This whole thing is sickening. Of course she wants to go to the same place as Elizabeth Holmes. Jen wants it as easy as possibleand that certainly does not sound like somebody whose wanting change and somebody who wants to put her victims first along with herself and her family. She doesn't even speak about her victims and she even said she doesn't have victims. I will not apologizing for saying that she absolutely should not be in a federal prison that is easier for her. She definitely should be in a prison that is run down just like most of them.. why is it that these people who commit such huge white collar crimes seem to always be put on a pedestal and even receive somewhat of a club status even when it comes to prison for crying out loud. Those people aren't just thrown into the crappy prisons and it's messed up. Look what example the government is setting for ppl. Do you know what I have learned from this? I have learned that if a person were to commit a financial crime, they're more likely to do a lot less time and they'll probably do it in a nicer place. The whole thing is so messed up & the more she sits back & doesn't address her victims out loud& publicly acknowledge it herself, the more she does not address things, the uglier she looks from within!
